An absorbent article includes an absorbent element obtained by wrapping an absorbent body in a wrapping sheet. The wrapping sheet includes an intermediate part located on one side of a front side and a back side of the absorbent body and both side parts folded back to the other side of the absorbent body from the intermediate part. The both side parts are overlapped with each other on the other side of the absorbent body. An overlapped part is bonded through a hot melt adhesive to form a connecting portion. A surface of the absorbent body on a side of the connecting portion is bonded to an internal surface of the wrapping sheet through hot melt adhesives, and the connecting portion of the wrapping sheet extends in a width direction to extend over both widthwise sides of a slit provided in the absorbent body.

An absorbent article has a wrapping sheet wrapping an absorbent body including an intermediate part located on one side of front face side and back face side of the body and both side parts folded back to the other side of the body from the intermediate part. Distal ends of the both side parts are overlapped on the other side of the body to form a connecting portion. A whole part of an internal surface of the wrapping sheet faces the body and is bonded to an external surface of the body through hot melt adhesives. A usage amount of the hot melt adhesives bonds the wrapping sheet and the body together and is larger at least in a region of both end portions in a width direction on the other side of the body than on the one side of the body.

Absorbent cores having channel-forming areas and C-wrap seals

Substantially planar absorbent core comprising at least 80% and up to 100% by weight of superabsorbent polymer as absorbent material on an absorbent material deposition area and a core wrap. The absorbent material deposition area comprises at least one absorbent material-free channel-forming areas through which the top and bottom substrates of the core wrap are bonded together. An auxiliary glue is applied directly at least to the inner surface of the first substrate on an auxiliary glue application area. The auxiliary glue application area is smaller than the absorbent material deposition area and the core comprises at least one C-wrap seal along at least one edge, in particular along the two longitudinally extending edges of the core.

ABSORBENT ARTICLE AND ABSORBENT CORE FORMING CHANNELS WHEN WET

An absorbent article for personal hygiene comprising a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, an absorbent core and a fibrous layer. The absorbent core comprises a core wrap and an absorbent material with superabsorbent polymers. The core wrap comprises a top side and a bottom side bonded to one other through one or more areas substantially free of absorbent material. The fibrous layer is at least partially bonded to one of the sides of the core wrap in the area substantially free of absorbent material. When the absorbent material swells, the core wrap forms one or more channels along the area substantially free of absorbent material. The formation of the channel in the absorbent core causes the formation of one or more corresponding ditches in the fibrous layer.

SHEET AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SHEET

A sheet-like article (1) for an absorbent article of the invention includes a plurality of absorbent units (4), each including a long base portion (2) and water-absorbent polymer particles (3) fixed to a surface of one face of the long base portion (2). In the sheet-like article (1), the absorbent units (4) are arranged such that their longitudinal direction is oriented in one direction. Before the water-absorbent polymer particles (3) absorb a liquid, the water-absorbent polymer particles (3) are located inward of both lateral side edge portions (2s), of the long base portion (2), that extend along the longitudinal direction. When the water-absorbent polymer particles (3) absorb a liquid, the water-absorbent polymer particles (3) swell beyond the lateral side edge portions (2s), of the long base portion (2), that extend along the longitudinal direction, and a position, in the thickness direction, of the long base portion (2) is varied from the position thereof before absorbing the liquid.

SHEET-SHAPED OBJECT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SHEET-SHAPED OBJECT

A sheet-like article (1) for an absorbent article of the invention includes a plurality of absorbent units (4), each including: a long base portion (2); and water-absorbent polymer particles (3) that are fixed to a surface of first side of the long base portion (2). In the sheet-like article (1), the absorbent units (4) are arranged such that the longitudinal direction thereof is oriented in one direction. When the water-absorbent polymer particles (3) absorb a liquid, the water-absorbent polymer particles (3) swell beyond the lateral side edge portions (2s), of the long base portion (2), that extend along the longitudinal direction, and a position, in the thickness direction, of each long base portion is varied from the position thereof before absorbing the liquid.

DISPOSABLE ABSORBENT ARTICLE INCLUDING A LEAK BARRIER

The invention features a disposable absorbent article including a thermoplastic composition applied in a full coat layer (i.e. a layer with 100% coverage) as a discrete shape to either the top sheet or to a component of the absorbent core (i.e. core or core wrap). The discrete shape is strategically located to decrease the likelihood of leaks in the desired location. The thermoplastic composition serves as a leak barrier to prevent bodily fluids and solids (i.e. urine, stool, menstrual flow, wound seepage) from leaking from the absorbent core.

Absorbent article containing nanoporous superabsorbent particles

An absorbent article comprising an absorbent member positioned between a topsheet and a backsheet is provided. The absorbent member contains at least one layer that comprises superabsorbent particles containing nanopores having an average cross-sectional dimension of from about 10 to about 500 nanometers.

20180271720 · 2018-09-27 ·

An absorbent body for an absorbent article includes: an absorbent core comprising a polymer absorbing agent; and core wraps. The core wraps include: (i) a first hydrophilic fiber-containing layer that is adjacent to the absorbent core and contains first hydrophilic fibers having an average fiber length of 25 mm to 75 mm; (ii) a pulp fiber-containing layer that is adjacent to the first hydrophilic fiber-containing layer and contains pulp fibers and (iii) a second hydrophilic fiber-containing layer that is adjacent to the pulp fiber-containing layer and contains second hydrophilic fibers having an average fiber length of 25 mm to 75 mm. Some of the pulp fibers pass through the first hydrophilic fiber-containing layer and are in contact with the absorbent core.
