One or more permanent seals separate the first swelling chamber and the second swelling chamber from the external zone. The swelling chambers consist of absorbent material immobilized by water-responsive bonds, wherein the water-responsive bonds deteriorate upon exposure to water such that the absorbent material is flowable in the wet state; and the external zone comprises absorbent material that is immobilized by thermoplastic adhesive, such that the absorbent material is immobilized in the wet state.

ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH IMPROVED ABSORBENT CORE

An absorbent article (1) comprising: a liquid permeable topsheet (2), a liquid impermeable backsheet (3), and an absorbent core (4) positioned between said topsheet (2) and backsheet (3), wherein the absorbent core (4) comprises an absorbent material (5), said absorbent material comprising a mixture, or blend, of cellulose fibers (5a) and superabsorbent material (5b), characterized in that the superabsorbent material comprises biodegradable superabsorbent material (bioSAP) that has a first color in dry state and a second color in wet state, and in that first color and the second color has a CIELab color space difference (E) of at least 2 as measured according to the test method herein.

Absorbent article (20) for personal hygiene such as diaper comprising an absorbent core (28) having two lateral absorbent zones (61, 63) disposed between respectively between a first and second longitudinally-extending channels (26a, 26b) and a first and second longitudinal edges (604, 606) of an absorbent layer (60). The lateral absorbent zones are profiled in the transversal direction, so that the basis weight of the absorbent material is higher towards the respective channel than towards the respective longitudinal side edge.

A disposable absorbent insert comprising: a liquid permeable topsheet; a liquid impermeable backsheet; and an absorbent core comprising absorbent material therein and being sandwiched between said topsheet and backsheet; wherein the insert comprises a perimeter formed by first and second transverse edges and first and second longitudinal edges connecting the first and second transverse edges; a longitudinal centerline extending substantially parallel to said first and second longitudinal edges and interposed therebetween such to divide said insert into a first longitudinal half between said longitudinal centerline and said first longitudinal edge and a second longitudinal half between said longitudinal centerline and said second longitudinal edge; and a transverse centerline extending substantially parallel to said first and second transverse edges and interposed therebetween such to divide said insert into a first transverse half between said transverse centerline and said first transverse edge and a second transverse half between said transverse centerline and said second transverse edge; wherein the insert comprises longitudinally extending folds proximal to each said first and second longitudinal edges wherein said folds comprise a contact surface where a first portion of the backsheet is in contact with a second portion of the backsheet and the contact surface is a garment-facing surface of said backsheet.

Multi-layered absorbent article

An absorbent article for menstrual and/or incontinence purposes, having a unique two-layer acquisition and absorbent structure. The cover layer includes a nonwoven material. The absorbent core includes multiple strata including super absorbent, fiber material that is pulp and/or bicomponent fibers, and a binder material. The total thickness of the absorbent article is less than or equal to the thickness of absorbent articles of similar absorbent characteristics. The absorbent article includes various absorbent properties that are improved despite parity or reduction in overall thickness.

ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH TRANSVERSAL BARRIER

An absorbent article for personal hygiene, preferably a disposable pant, comprising: a substantially transversely extending front panel; a substantially transversely extending back panel; and a substantially longitudinally extending absorbent insert joined to each of said front and back panels, said absorbent insert comprising front and back transversal edges and left and right longitudinal edges connecting the front and back transversal edges to form a perimeter thereof and generally wherein the left and right longitudinal edges extend substantially along the longitudinal axis y and are oppositely disposed such that said longitudinal axis y extends therebetween, and the front and back transversal edges extend substantially along the transversal axis x, and typically substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis y, and are oppositely disposed such that said transverse axis x extends therebetween). The front and back panels are joined together to define a pair of side seams, and at least a portion of said absorbent insert proximal to the front and/or back transversal edges thereof comprises a transversal waist barrier comprising a substantially liquid impermeable film layer.
