An absorbent article including a wearer-facing topsheet, a backsheet and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, characterized in that the absorbent core includes: a first absorbent layer comprising a first substrate, a layer of first superabsorbent polymer particles deposited on the first substrate, and a fibrous layer of thermoplastic adhesive material covering the layer of first superabsorbent polymer particles; a second absorbent layer, the second absorbent layer comprising a second substrate and a mixed layer deposited on the second substrate, the mixed layer comprising a mixture of second superabsorbent particles and cellulosic fibers, the first absorbent layer and the second absorbent layer being combined together such that at least a portion of the fibrous layer of thermoplastic adhesive material of the first absorbent layer contacts at least a portion of the mixed layer of the second absorbent layer, and wherein the first absorbent layer is placed closer to the topsheet than the second layer.
Feminine Care Absorbent Article Containing Nanoporous Superabsorbent Particles
A feminine care absorbent article comprising an absorbent member positioned between a topsheet and a baffle is provided. The absorbent member contains at least one layer that comprises superabsorbent particles containing nanopores having an average cross-sectional dimension of from about 10 to about 500 nanometers.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH CHANNELS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THEREOF
An absorbent article comprising an absorbent core comprising an absorbent material between a top core wrap and a back core wrap, said absorbent core having a first and second longitudinal edge and a first and second transverse edge; the absorbent core comprising at least a front and a rear attachment zone, and a bridging zone extending at least partially between said front and rear attachment zone, wherein the bridging zone extends from a first longitudinal portion of the absorbent core to a second longitudinal portion of the absorbent core, such that upon wetting of the absorbent material, a front and rear channel are created at said front and rear attachment zone, respectively, wherein the bridging zone allows a liquid flow between the first longitudinal portion and the second longitudinal portion.
EXPANDABLE ABSORBENT CORE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
An expandable absorbent structure comprises an expansion loop core configured to expand in response to absorption of a liquid and an expansion loop material structure surrounding the expansion loop core and having a trough therein, wherein the trough is formed from a first portion of the expansion loop material structure folded over a second portion of the expansion loop material structure at a first elbow of the expansion loop material structure. In response to an increase in size of the expansion loop core, the expansion loop core presses against the expansion loop material structure to cause a length of the trough to decrease.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH POLYMERIC FILLER COMPOSITION
An absorbent article comprising a first nonwoven material joined to a second nonwoven material by at least one bond area, wherein a polymeric filler composition is disposed within the bond area and the composition comprises at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of polypropylene homopolymers, propylene-ethylene copolymers, and mixtures thereof, wherein the composition is substantially free of tackifiers. It was found that such polymer filler compositions having a Toughness of at least 25 MPa, as measured according to the Extensional Test Method described herein, provide bonds with good resistance to peel creep force.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH CHANNELS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THEREOF
An absorbent article comprising an absorbent core comprising an absorbent material between a top core wrap and a back core wrap, said absorbent core having a first and second longitudinal edge and a first and second transverse edge; the absorbent core being comprising at least a first and a second attachment zone, extending next to each other in the direction of the first and/or second transverse edge; wherein in said first and second attachment zone: said top core wrap is attached to said back core wrap along an attachment which extends over a transverse distance which is at least 1 mm; and/or said top core wrap is attached to said back core wrap along a discontinuous attachment at a plurality of locations at a distance of each other; such that upon wetting of the absorbent material, a first and second channel are created at said first and second attachment zone.
ABSORBENT CORE HAVING SWELLING CHAMBER
An absorbent article includes a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, an absorbent core being disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, wherein the absorbent core includes an absorbent material disposed in an absorbent deposition area and enclosed in a core wrap. The core further includes a first swelling chamber, a second swelling chamber, and an external zone. The absorbent material comprises superabsorbent polymer. One or more permanent seals separate the first swelling chamber and the second swelling chamber from the external zone. The swelling chambers consist of absorbent material immobilized by water-responsive bonds, wherein the water-responsive bonds deteriorate upon exposure to water such that the absorbent material is flowable in the wet state; and the external zone comprises absorbent material that is immobilized by thermoplastic adhesive, such that the absorbent material is immobilized in the wet state.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH IMPROVED BOTTOM DISTRIBUTION ASSEMBLY
An absorbent article comprising a liquid pervious topsheet (300), a liquid impervious backsheet (200), absorbent material positioned between the liquid pervious topsheet and the liquid impervious backsheet, and a bottom distribution assembly between the absorbent material and the liquid impervious backsheet, wherein the absorbent material comprises superabsorbent particles and is arranged such that one or more channels are formed, wherein substantially no absorbent material is present in the one or more channels, wherein the bottom distribution assembly comprises a first layer and a second layer, wherein said first layer has a first density between 20 and 150 kg/m3 and said second layer has a second density between 100 and 400 kg/m3, said second density being higher than the first density, wherein said first layer is closer to the absorbent material than said second layer.
Absorbent core having swelling chamber
An absorbent article includes a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, an absorbent core being disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, wherein the absorbent core include san absorbent material disposed in an absorbent deposition area and enclosed in a core wrap. The core further includes a swelling chamber disposed in between two external zones. The absorbent material comprises superabsorbent polymer. One or more permanent seals separate the chamber from each of the two external zones. The swelling chamber consists of absorbent material immobilized by water-responsive bonds, wherein said water-responsive bonds deteriorate upon exposure to water such that the absorbent material is flowable in the wet state; and the two external zones comprise absorbent material that is immobilized by thermoplastic adhesive, such that the absorbent material is immobilized in the wet state.
