Process for making an absorbent article comprising a topsheet/acquisition layer laminate

A process of making an absorbent article is disclosed. A liquid permeable topsheet web extending substantially continuously in a machine direction a backsheet web, and an acquisition layer are provided. The topsheet web has first and second surfaces. The backsheet web extends substantially continuously in the machine direction. The acquisition layer has a first and second surface. The topsheet and acquisition layer are aligned in a face to face relationship such that the second surface of the topsheet in in contact with the first surface of the acquisition layer and simultaneously mechanically deformed which combines the topsheet with the acquisition layer. The topsheet web and acquisition layer are nested together such that a majority of the three-dimensional protrusions formed in the topsheet web coincide with and fit together with a majority of the three-dimensional protrusions formed in the acquisition layer to provide a topsheet/acquisition layer laminate web having three-dimensional protrusions.

Absorbent article

An absorbent article has a planar direction and a thickness direction. The absorbent article includes a volatile first functional component, a volatile second functional component, water-disintegrable microcapsules that contain the second functional component, and a solvent that keeps the second functional component contained inside the microcapsules. Between a liquid-permeable layer and an absorption layer, the absorbent article has functional composition coated regions that extend in the planar direction and that are coated with the functional composition, and has adhesive coated regions that extend in the planar direction and that are coated with an adhesive. The adhesive coated regions have an adhesive region that directly or indirectly joins the liquid-permeable payer and the absorption layer.

The liquid permeability and liquid diffusion of absorbent body is enhanced. (i) A belt-like main sheet formed of a non-woven fabric sheet constituting at least part of a first main surface is conveyed in a longitudinal direction of the main sheet; (ii) a slit is formed in the non-woven fabric sheet at a first position on a conveying path; (iii) at a second position, particulate matter absorbing and retaining liquid is dispersed into the first main surface, in such a way that the particulate matter is held in the non-woven fabric sheet; and (iv) at a third position, a covering sheet which prevents passage of the particulate matter is overlaid on the first main surface. At the second position, the non-woven fabric sheet includes a bulky structure which constitutes at least part of the first main surface and which has voids allowing the particulate matter to enter.

ABSORBENT CORE

An absorbent core structure for disposable absorbent articles. The absorbent core having improved fluid handling properties. The absorbent core includes a first layer, a layer of absorbent polymer material, a layer of adhesive, and a second layer. The first layer has a first surface, a second surface, and a thickness of 0.4 mm to 1.5 mm.

Absorbent articles with improved core

An absorbent article including a wearer-facing topsheet, a backsheet and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, characterized in that the absorbent core includes: a first absorbent layer comprising a first substrate, a layer of first superabsorbent polymer particles deposited on the first substrate, and a fibrous layer of thermoplastic adhesive material covering the layer of first superabsorbent polymer particles; a second absorbent layer, the second absorbent layer comprising a second substrate and a mixed layer deposited on the second substrate, the mixed layer comprising a mixture of second superabsorbent particles and cellulosic fibers, the first absorbent layer and the second absorbent layer being combined together such that at least a portion of the fibrous layer of thermoplastic adhesive material of the first absorbent layer contacts at least a portion of the mixed layer of the second absorbent layer, and wherein the first absorbent layer is placed closer to the topsheet than the second layer.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING RECYCLED PULP FIBERS, AND RECYCLED PULP FIBERS

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for producing recycled pulp fibers such that articles using the recycled pulp fibers can easily achieve a uniform whiteness and users are not prone to feel psychological resistance to articles using the recycled pulp fibers. This method is described below. The method is characterized by involving: a step for supplying, from a mixed solution supply port (32) to a treatment tank (31), a mixed solution (51) which contains superabsorbent polymers and pulp fibers derived from multiple types of used sanitary products; a step for supplying an ozone-containing gas (53) from an ozone-containing gas supply port (43) to a treatment solution (52) inside of the treatment tank (31): a step in which, by raising the ozone-containing gas (53) while lowering the superabsorbent polymers and pulp fibers in the treatment tank (31), the ozone-containing gas (53) is brought into contact with the superabsorbent polymers and the pulp fibers, and the pulp fibers are bleached to form recycled pulp fibers; and a step for discharging the treatment solution (52) from a treatment solution discharge port (33), wherein the recycled pulp fibers have a 0-10 YI with respect to a standard white plate.

An absorbent article comprising an absorbent core comprising an absorbent material between a top core wrap and a back core wrap, said absorbent core having a first and second longitudinal edge and a first and second transverse edge; the absorbent core comprising at least a front and a rear attachment zone, and a bridging zone extending at least partially between said front and rear attachment zone, wherein the bridging zone extends from a first longitudinal portion of the absorbent core to a second longitudinal portion of the absorbent core, such that upon wetting of the absorbent material, a front and rear channel are created at said front and rear attachment zone, respectively, wherein the bridging zone allows a liquid flow between the first longitudinal portion and the second longitudinal portion.

EXPANDABLE ABSORBENT CORE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE

An expandable absorbent structure comprises an expansion loop core configured to expand in response to absorption of a liquid and an expansion loop material structure surrounding the expansion loop core and having a trough therein, wherein the trough is formed from a first portion of the expansion loop material structure folded over a second portion of the expansion loop material structure at a first elbow of the expansion loop material structure. In response to an increase in size of the expansion loop core, the expansion loop core presses against the expansion loop material structure to cause a length of the trough to decrease.
