Combine Harvesters For Use In Harvesting Corn, And Related Methods
Combine harvesters are provided for use in harvesting seed corn from corn plants in fields. In connection therewith, a method for producing such seed corn from the corn plants, for use in growing subsequent corn plants, includes measuring a moisture content of corn kernels on ears of the corn plants in the field and removing, by one of the combine harvesters, the ears of corn from the corn plants when the moisture content satisfies a threshold moisture content. The method then includes separating the corn kernels from cobs of the ears of corn onboard the combine harvester and collecting the separated corn kernels for use as seed corn, whereby one or more subsequent corn plants can be grown from the collected corn kernels.
Flexible row crop header for an agricultural harvester
A row crop header for a harvester having a subframe removably coupleable to a feeder housing of the harvester. A pivot assembly is supported by the subframe permitting first and second header sections to pivotably move between raised and lowered positions together or independently of the other. A cross-auger center suspension assembly rotateably supports one end of the first cross-auger section and one end of the second cross-auger section as the first and second header sections pivotally move between the raised and lowered positions.
CRACKER ROLLER DISC
A cracker roller disc has a first portion radially outward of the centre of substantially constant thickness, and a second portion radially outward of the first portion which second portion tapers towards the periphery of the disc. A plurality of upstanding ridges extending radially outward across the second portion on opposed faces of the disc are machined to define respective conical surfaces forming radially extending edges on opposed faces of the disc. The disc is provided with one or more circular or spiral grooves which cut across the edges in a substantially perpendicular direction to the edges. The grooves extend the effective length of each edge.

Agricultural harvester with one-way opening crop savers
A header for an agricultural vehicle includes: a header frame; at least two row dividers carried by the header frame and defining a gap therebetween; and a crop material saver disposed in the gap and including a pair of saver flaps, each of the saver flaps being positioned such that the saver flaps co-act as a one-way pass-through to allow crop material flow past the saver flaps in an admission direction and inhibit crop material flow past the saver flaps in an inhibited direction opposite the admission direction.

STOMPING SHOE ASSEMBLY FOR AN AGRICULTURAL HARVESTER HEADER
A stomping shoe assembly for an agricultural harvester header including a stomping shoe having a substantially planar proximal end for connecting to an agricultural harvester header, and a curved distal end for engaging crop. The assembly further includes a stalk cutter having an elongated body mounted to the stomping shoe and extending from the stomping shoe from the curved distal end to the substantially planar proximal end. Also provided is an agricultural harvester header including the stomping shoe assembly.
Corn header row unit
A row crop header for an agricultural machine harvesting a crop having stalks, such as corn. The row crop header includes a frame, a first crop row divider mounted to the frame, and a second crop row divider mounted to the frame and spaced from the first crop row divider to define a space therebetween. A row unit is disposed at the space, wherein the row unit includes a deck assembly defining a gap, the deck assembly including a compliant deck configured to adjust the gap based on contact with the stalks of the crop. The compliant deck includes a plurality of overlapping plates having edges defining the gap where the edges are configured to move responsively to varying diameters of stalks. Crops are separated from the stalks upon contact with the overlapping plates. A gathering chain moves the separated crops toward a collector.
HARVESTER ROW HEAD
Frame assemblies for a corn row head formed from components formed from different materials are disclosed. For example, a frame assembly may include a frame portion having a first beam leg and a second beam leg formed of a first material and a skid plate attached to each of the first beam leg and the second beam leg formed from a second material different than the first material. The first material may be aluminum, and the second material may be steel. In some implementations, a breast plate joining the first beam leg and the second beam leg may be formed from the first material and may be welded to the first beam leg and the second beam leg. In other implementations, the breast plate may be formed from the second material and may be adhesively bonded to the first and second beam legs.
Plant Pickers, And Related Methods Associated With Yield Detection
Systems and methods are provided for adapting picker yield data collected by pickers (e.g., ear pickers, combines, etc.) to account for errors in calibration of the pickers. One exemplary computer-implemented method includes accessing data for a field harvested by multiple pickers, wherein the accessed data includes yield data for the field received from of the pickers, and determining a mass differential for a crop harvested by the pickers from the field. When the mass differential exceeds a threshold, the method then further includes calculating a normalization factor for at least one pair of the pickers, calculating a scaling factor associated with one of the pickers of the at least one pair of the pickers based on the normalization factor, and applying the scaling factor to the yield data received from the pickers such that the yield data is normalized.
