The absorbent article optionally has embossing creating a varied topography along the body facing side of the absorbent article, including the cover layer and optionally the inner transfer layer and/or the core layer(s). The absorbent article includes a release material or an absorbent article having releasable adhesive applied thereto, where thereafter, the absorbent article is applied to the pressure-sensitive adhesive on the release material by way of a nip including a lobed roller. An apparatus and method are provided herein supporting the manufacture of such absorbent articles.

A multilayer wrapper film for a hygiene product has a first outer layer, a second outer layer, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer between the first outer layer and the second outer layer and forming therewith respective adhesive bonds. The adhesive bond between the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer and the first outer layer is stronger than the adhesive bond between the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer and the second outer layer. An overall thickness of the first and second outer layers with the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer arranged therebetween is between 20 m and 80 m.

The inner surface includes an edge zone including an inner edge portion and an outer edge portion. The sheet has at least one folding axis dividing the sheet into a first region and a second region. The inner edge portion and the outer edge portion of the edge zone of the first region is provided with adhesive, and the other of the inner edge portion and the outer edge portion of the edge zone of the first region is adhesive-free. Further, one of the inner edge portion and the outer edge portion of the edge zone of the second region is provided with adhesive, and the other is adhesive-free in a complementary manner to the edge zone of the first region.

The present disclosure pertains to an assembly (1) comprising a release paper (22) and an absorbent article (10), the absorbent article (10) comprising: a topsheet (14), a backsheet (16), an absorbent core (12) arranged between said topsheet (14) and backsheet (16), and a layer of adhesive (20) being arranged on a side of the backsheet (16) opposite to the absorbent core (12), the release paper (22) being arranged on a side of the layer of adhesive (20) opposite to the backsheet (16), the release paper (22) and the absorbent article (10) extending in respective longitudinal, transversal and vertical directions (L,T,V). According to the present disclosure, the absorbent article (10) is maintained in a folded configuration by the release paper (22) and the longitudinal direction of the release paper (22) is orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article (10).
