Aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatuses for manufacturing absorbent articles, wherein discrete zones of protrusions may be formed on a substrate. In some configurations, the protrusions may be formed as hooks. When forming the discrete zones of protrusions, localized speed variances may be imparted to the advancing substrate to ensure the adequate time to form the protrusions is provided. As such, protrusions may be formed on portions of the substrate that have been temporarily stopped or slowed to relatively slow speeds. The substrates with zones of protrusions may then be incorporated into products, such as assembled absorbent articles, so as to place the protrusions in desired positions on the absorbent articles. As such, the methods and apparatuses herein allow for the use of hook forming techniques on substrates in article manufacturing processes that provide flexibility in such configurations without sacrificing desired manufacturing speeds.

The present disclosure relates to taped and pant articles comprising substantially identical chassis.

To provide a connecting sheet that can reduce noise generated when peeled from an object. A connecting sheet is a connecting sheet stacked on the object to be connected to the object, and includes: a sheet substrate having a first main surface and a second main surface; a first adhesive layer formed on the first main surface of the sheet substrate; and a plurality of hook components that protrude from the first main surface of the sheet substrate in a first direction and are spaced at intervals in a second direction in which the first main surface extends, and the hook components each includes: a column portion that extends from the sheet substrate in the first direction and protrudes from a surface of the first adhesive layer, and a head portion that extends from a tip of the column portion in the second direction, and the lower surface of the head portion is covered with the adhesive material.

Diaper assemblies, along with related articles and methods, are provided. The diaper assembly includes a diaper comprising an inner surface and a blocking member coupled to a portion of the inner surface. The blocking member has a resilient pad coextends along a portion of the inner surface and further includes an attachment layer bonded to the resilient pad and may be repositionably attached at other locations along the inner surface. Advantageously, the blocking member can provide a releasable and repositionable seal that conveniently enhances the functionality of commercially available diapers.

Absorbent article including a chassis and fastening tab. The fastening tab includes a carrier, a first fastener having first male fastening elements, and a second fastener. The second fastener includes a backing with first and second opposing surfaces, with second male fastening elements on the first surface. A first portion of the second surface of the backing is connected to the carrier, and a second portion of the second surface of the backing is attached to the topsheet side of the chassis. The carrier is attached to the backsheet side of the chassis. Some fastening laminates, before attachment to the article, have the second portion of the second fastener folded over to face the first portion of the second fastener. Other laminates have the second fastener positioned with its first surface toward the carrier and attached to the carrier with a film.

The invention relates to fasteners comprising a flexible planar backing provided with a fastening element on its upper side and/or on its lower side, wherein the fastener consists of at least one generally Y-shaped one-piece section defined by two opposing arms, which are separated from each other by a recess, and by a third arm joined to the two opposing arms and extending away from said recess, wherein the shape and size of said third arm correspond to the shape and size of said recess.

An absorbent article includes front and rear portions and a fastener for connecting side edges of the front and rear portions. The fastener includes a grasping element attached to an outer surface of the fastener to provide for grasping by the wearer or caregiver. The grasping element may be formed of flexible material and may have a variety of configurations, including a tube, a flange, a tunnel or a pocket.

A sheet-like water-absorbing structure is provided. The aforementioned structure includes: a sheet-like body that includes an absorptive object and elastic material. Meanwhile, the elastic material surrounds the sheet-like body. The fore-and-aft length of the aforementioned structure is longer than its left-and-right width. Two symmetric first connected structures are located at the front end of the aforementioned structure and two symmetric second one are located at the rear end of the aforementioned structure. An absorbent article includes a chassis having i) a topsheet, ii) a backsheet comprising a film layer and an outer cover layer, and iii) an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet; and a fastening system, the fastening system having a male fastener and a female fastening material, wherein the female fastening material is comprised of a portion of the outer cover layer that is located in a landing zone area; wherein the film layer and the outer cover layer are joined together through a backsheet adhesive applied in a first pattern; and in the landing zone area, the film layer and the outer cover layer are joined together through an additional LZA adhesive applied in a second pattern.
