The trunk portion has an opening with an edge there through with an associated flap which overlaps the edge of the trunk portion. The trunk portion has at least one coupling strip placed adjacent the edge of the trunk portion opening. The flap has a coupling strip and an absorbent area having an absorbent material being fixedly attached to the absorbent area.

ABSORBENT PAD FOR A GARMENT

The present disclosure generally relates to an absorbent pad for use in a garment. The absorbent pad includes: a liquid impermeable barrier layer; a functional layer attached to the barrier layer, the functional layer comprising a liquid absorbent component; a liquid impermeable peripheral sealing element bonded to peripheries of the functional layer and barrier layer; and a peripheral attaching element having a first portion and a second portion, the first portion bonded to the peripheral sealing element. The second portion of the peripheral attaching element is detached from the peripheral sealing element and is arranged to be attached to a fabric body of the garment, thereby attaching the absorbent pad to the garment.

According to an embodiment of the present invention, a sanitary pad using a seaweed or a seagrass containing water-soluble fiber as a natural absorbent is provided. The seaweed includes any one of a brown seaweed, kelp, Sargassum, Algue brune, Ulva linza, Monostroma, dried laver, woodfish (Gelidium amansii), and Gloiopeltis furcata. The natural absorbent has a particle shape obtained by drying at least more than one of the seaweeds and the seagrasses, and the average diameter of the particles may range from 0.1 mm to 5 mm. The natural absorbent may have biodegradable properties. The natural absorbent may further include coffee grounds in the form of particles.

Absorbent conduit and system

A conduit for treating a tissue site with reduced pressure may include a primary lumen and at least one secondary lumen. A wall of the conduit may include a first wall material and a second wall material. The first wall material may comprise a substantially non-absorbent material that is vapor impermeable and liquid impermeable. The second wall material may comprise an absorbent material that is vapor permeable and liquid impermeable. The second wall material may be positioned in fluid contact with the at least one secondary lumen. Other systems, apparatus, and methods are disclosed.

MATERIALS AND METHODS FOR DEODERIZATION OF MAMMALIAN URINE
20200338227 · 2020-10-29 ·

Disclosed are compositions, materials, garments, devices, and methods for controlling or neutralizing offensive odors associated with mammalian urine. For example, disclosed are personal care products (e.g., diapers), deodorizing colloidal compositions, urine-based fertilizers, portable urination systems, and methods of their use. Such deodorizing colloidal compositions, urine-based fertilizers, portable urination systems are characterized in that they contain an acrylate polymer comprising at least one acrylic acid monomer or salt thereof, which imparts a odor-neutralizing effect. Also provided are methods of recovering water from the systems disclosed herein.

HIGHLY ABSORBENT RESISTANT WASHABLE AND REUSABLE UNDERGARMENTS, METHODS OF USE, KITS AND USES THERETO
20200246203 · 2020-08-06 · ·

An undergarment article has a fabric a fabric layer for wearing about a pelvic region of a person, a water-repellent layer coupled to a crotch portion of the fabric layer to form an inner chamber, and an inner pad disposed within the inner chamber between the water-repellent layer and the fabric layer. The inner pad is resistant to heat and includes a liquid-absorbent layer and a waterproof layer. The liquid-absorbent layer contacts the water-repellent layer and is effective for absorbing a volume of liquid greater than 2 fluid ounces. The waterproof layer is effective for restricting liquid from reaching the fabric layer. The crotch portion of the fabric layer and the water-repellent layer can be substantially elastic in at least one of a lateral direction and a longitudinal direction of the crotch portion. Methods for using the undergarment, kits and uses of the undergarment are also disclosed.

Odor control article

Odor control articles (10) including hydrophobic polymers of intrinsic porosity (HPIM) and their use in personal care products and hygienic products is disclosed. The odor control article (10) includes a HPIM and a colorant. The odor control article (10) may be applied to a substrate (11), and more specifically to a liquid absorbent member (30), to form an odor-absorbing member (20). The substrate (11) may absorb liquid. The odor-absorbing member (20) may be placed in such products as diapers (200), incontinence pads (60) and refrigerator pads. A method of making an odor control suspension with HPIMs including the use of surfactants is also disclosed. The odor control suspension may also be applied to a substrate (11).

Absorbent article

An absorbent article has a planar direction and a thickness direction. The absorbent article includes a volatile first functional component, a volatile second functional component, water-disintegrable microcapsules that contain the second functional component, and a solvent that keeps the second functional component contained inside the microcapsules. Between a liquid-permeable layer and an absorption layer, the absorbent article has functional composition coated regions that extend in the planar direction and that are coated with the functional composition, and has adhesive coated regions that extend in the planar direction and that are coated with an adhesive. The adhesive coated regions have an adhesive region that directly or indirectly joins the liquid-permeable payer and the absorption layer.
