Assistive Pushcart Device
An assistive pushcart device for rollerblading includes a set of first wheels and a set of second wheels that are rotationally coupled to a frame proximate to a front and a back of the frame, respectively. A handle that is coupled to and extends transversely from the back of the frame is configured to be grasped in one or two hands of a user to stabilize the user as the user locomotes the frame along a surface. Each of set of brakes is operationally coupled to a respective one of the first wheels and the second wheels. The set of brakes is positioned to selectively slow and stop rotation of at least one of the first wheels and the second wheels. An actuator that is coupled to the handle and operationally coupled to the set of brakes is positioned to selectively actuate the set of brakes.
LIFTING MECHANISM AND CHAIRS
A lifting mechanism has a base to which a pivot of a parallelogram structure. A spring extends from a first link of the parallelogram to an adjustable termination point on a second link of the parallelogram to form a lifting triangle. The spring termination point is displaced from a main pivot of the parallelogram to create an adjustable lever arm to vary the lifting force. A lifting power adjustment mechanism adjusts the position of the spring termination point. An extension is in fixed relation to one of the parallelogram links and maintains its angle with respect to the horizontal when angles of the parallelogram are varied upon raising or lowering the lifting mechanism between a sitting mode and a standing mode. The extension serves as a base for a rear seat section. A front seat section is pivotally attached to the rear seat section allowing it to swing downward upon elevation of the liftin mechanism.
FOLDING WHEELCHAIR
A folding wheelchair is disclosed having a frame with two side portions, a seat and a folding mechanism. The folding mechanism has coupling connections, pivoting connections and a cross-strut with two bars crossing at a pivot point. First ends of each of the cross-strut bars are mounted rotatably on the side portions of the frame via the pivoting connections. Second ends of each of the cross-strut bars are releasably mounted on the other of the two side portions of the frame via the coupling connections. A distance between the frame side portions may be modified if the cross-strut bars second ends are released from the frame side portions. The cross-strut bars are pivoted relative to each other about the pivot point. The cross-strut extends from the first ends to the second ends of the bars in a cross-strut direction which, in the operating position, extends substantially along the seat.
MULTIFUNCTION TOILET WHEELCHAIR
A multifunction wheelchair, with fixed or folding frame, is described. The multifunction wheelchair is reconfigurable, by a transformation mechanism, between a normal use, ergonomic configuration and a roll-over-toilet configuration. This transformation involves raising the seat of the wheelchair, as needed, to position the wheelchair over the determined height of a toilet, and opening a seat closure mechanism to expose a cutout in the seat for toilet use. This transformation may be at least partially automated. In examples, the multifunction wheelchair is equipped with electronics (e.g., camera, microcontroller) to determine the toilet seat height for making height and/or steering adjustments. The transformation mechanism may be provided as a retrofit kit.
MOTORIZED ZERO GRAVITY CHAIR
A motorized tilting mechanism for a reclining chair allows the chair be placed in a zero gravity position. A base frame comprising 2 sub-frames pivot in relation to each other to provide simple tilting mechanism.
ELECTRICAL POWER ASSISTANCE DEVICE FOR TRANSPORT WHEELCHAIR
An electrical power assistance device designed to be removably coupled to existing transport wheelchairs to provide electric power to aid in transportation of a person sitting in the wheelchair, while being detachable to allow the transport chair to fold up for easy storage in a car or other vehicle. The electrical power assistance device includes a motor powered by a rechargeable battery, where the motor drives an internal shaft which rotates a pair of friction wheels. A clutch, provided on a separate axle coupled to the friction wheels by eccentric disks, allows the friction wheels to engage or disengage with the rear wheels of the transport wheelchair.
WHEELCHAIR WITH ACTUATOR CONTROLLED TILTING
A wheelchair includes: a chassis configured to collapse in a width direction of the wheelchair; at least one wheel carried by the chassis; a seat assembly including a seat and a back support carried by the chassis, the back support defining a tilt angle relative to the seat and being pivotable to adjust the tilt angle; and a tilt assembly carried by the chassis and including at least one tilt actuator coupled to the back support, the at least one tilt actuator being configured to pivot the back support and adjust the tilt angle. The chassis is collapsible in the width direction while carrying the at least one actuator to reduce a width of the wheelchair.
Powered wheelchair, wheelchair powering device and method
The present disclosure describes devices and systems that can be integrated with a foldable, manual wheelchair to convert the wheelchair into a hybrid chair capable of both manual operation and motor-powered operation. A wheelchair powering device includes a motor that is operatively coupled to a roller member so that rotation of the motor shaft causes rotation of the roller member. The roller member may be engaged against a tire of the wheelchair so that rotation of the roller member causes rotation of the tire via friction between the roller member and tire.
Collapsible manual wheelchair system for improved propulsion and transfers
A manual wheelchair including a collapsible frame with at least one brace connected to at least one of the frame members. A drive wheel axel extends along a first axis of rotation and engages a drive wheel, the first brace, and a portion of a transmission. A push rim axel extends along a second axis of rotation and engages a push rim wheel, the second brace, and a portion of the transmission, which transmits rotation of the push rim to rotation of the drive wheel. The at least one brace is configured to release the at least one of the frame members to collapse the wheelchair.
Folding wheelchair
A foldable wheelchair having side frames arranged on both sides of the wheelchair, a cross-strut assembly and seat tubes for receiving a seat cover, wherein the cross-strut assembly is mounted about parallel pivot axes in the side frames, and an axis of rotation of struts of the cross-strut assembly is arranged parallel to the pivot axes of the cross-strut assembly, and the cross-strut assembly is connected to the seat tubes, wherein the wheelchair has guide levers and each guide lever is mounted in the respective strut of the cross-strut assembly between the axis of rotation of the struts of the cross-strut assembly and the respective seat tube, and the guide lever is mounted at a distance therefrom in the side frame assigned to the seat tube so as to be pivotable about a pivot axis that is arranged parallel to the pivot axes of the cross-strut assembly.
