Footrest-foldable wheelchair
A wheelchair is provided which includes driving wheels, side frame, footrest arms, and footrest plates. The driving wheels are rotatably coupled to the exterior sides of the side frames. The footrest arms are movable between arm unfolded and folded positions. Each of the footrest arms is pivotably coupled to an arm pivot shaft. The arm pivot shaft is positioned on the exterior side of each of the side frames in front of each of the driving wheels. The footrest plates can support user's feet. Each of the footrest plates is coupled to the fore end of each of the footrest arms. The distance between the fore ends of the footrest arms in the arm unfolded position is smaller than the distance in the arm folded position.
Powered wheelchair, wheelchair powering device and method
The present disclosure describes devices and systems that can be integrated with a foldable, manual wheelchair to convert the wheelchair into a hybrid chair capable of both manual operation and motor-powered operation. A wheelchair powering device includes a motor that is operatively coupled to a roller member so that rotation of the motor shaft causes rotation of the roller member. The roller member may be engaged against a tire of the wheelchair so that rotation of the roller member causes rotation of the tire via friction between the roller member and tire.
Hand drive mechanism for mobile vehicle
A drive mechanism for a wheelchair may include a hand grip having a continuous track that moves over a drive rotator. The hand grip may have a flat, top surface that extends ventrally from the wheelchair. The drive mechanism may include a drivetrain connected to the drive rotator, such that movement of the hand grip in a dorsal or a ventral direction causes the drive rotator to rotate, and such rotation actuates the drivetrain. The drive mechanism may further comprise a switch. When the switch is in a first position, actuation of the drivetrain drives the wheels of the wheelchair. When the switch is in a second position, actuation of the drivetrain drives a mechanism that lifts the wheelchair into a standing position.
COLLAPSIBLE MOBILITY AID
A collapsible mobility aid with two frame elements, on each of which at least one wheel is secured or can be secured, and with a folding mechanism by which the frame elements are connected to each other, and a distance between the frame elements in a first position of the folding mechanism can be adapted to a transport distance and in a second position of the folding mechanism can be adapted to a use distance, wherein the folding mechanism has a central element with a slide arranged moveably with respect thereto, at least two connection arms which are each articulated on a frame element and on the central element, and at least two levers which are each articulated on a connection arm and on the slide, wherein the swivel axes, about which the levers are arranged on the connection arms and the slide such that they can be swiveled, are on one plane when the folding mechanism is in the second position.
COLLAPSIBLE MANUAL WHEELCHAIR SYSTEM FOR IMPROVED PROPULSION AND TRANSFERS
A manual wheelchair including a collapsible frame with at least one brace connected to at least one of the frame members. A drive wheel axel extends along a first axis of rotation and engages a drive wheel, the first brace, and a portion of a transmission. A push rim axel extends along a second axis of rotation and engages a push rim wheel, the second brace, and a portion of the transmission, which transmits rotation of the push rim to rotation of the drive wheel. The at least one brace is configured to release the at least one of the frame members to collapse the wheelchair.
Adjustable chair
A chair is disclosed having a chair frame and a seating surface having a first side surface movably coupled to the frame, and a second side surface coupled to the frame. The first side surface is independently moveable relative to the second side surface. Each of the first side surface and the second side surface define a front end of the seating surface and a back end of the seating surface. A first actuator is coupled to the frame, where the first actuator is configured for operative communication with the first side surface.
Wheelchair frame structure and method for adjusting wheelchair
A front wheel and a rear wheel are to be provided at a grounding frame. A body frame is mounted on the grounding frame and includes a mount at which a seat is to be provided. A relative position between the grounding frame and the body frame in a height direction of a wheelchair is changed via a height adjustment mechanism. The height adjustment mechanism includes an adjustment pole, a pole reception, and a holding portion. The adjustment pole extends along the height direction and is mounted on one of the body frame and the grounding frame. The pole reception is mounted on another of the body frame and the grounding frame and is engaged with the adjustment pole slidably in the height direction. The holding portion is to hold not to relatively move the adjustment pole with respect to the pole reception.
Wheelchair seat assembly
A seat assembly for wheelchair of the type having a structure expandable from a contracted condition to an expanded position comprises a pair of tubular members connected to the structure. Each tubular member has a main tubular body, a secondary tubular body parallel to and inside the main tubular body, and an elongated slit extending along both the main tubular body and the secondary tubular body and common to both the main tubular body and the secondary tubular body. The slits open into an inner channel of the secondary tubular body. The main tubular body and the secondary tubular body form a hollow integral piece of composite material. A panel, e.g., of non-rigid material has rods on its opposite edges, the rods having a diameter smaller than that of the secondary tube and larger than a width of the slit to be held captive in the secondary tube, whereby the panel extends through the slit.
FOLDING WHEELCHAIR
A foldable wheelchair having side frames arranged on both sides of the wheelchair, a cross-strut assembly and seat tubes for receiving a seat cover, wherein the cross-strut assembly is mounted, in regions remote from the seat tube, about parallel pivot axes in the side frame, and the axis of rotation of the struts of the cross-strut assembly is arranged parallel to the pivot axes of the cross-strut assembly, and the cross-strut assembly is connected to the seat tubes, which, in the unfolded position of the wheelchair, are received by seat tube bearings of the side frames, wherein the wheelchair has guide levers on both sides, and the respective guide lever is mounted, in a first region, in a strut of the cross-strut assembly, in a region of the cross-strut assembly between the axis of rotation of the struts of the cross-strut assembly and the seat tube, and this guide lever is mounted at a distance therefrom, in a second region, in the side frame assigned to the seat tube so as to be pivotable about a pivot axis, wherein this pivot axis is arranged parallel to the pivot axes of the cross-strut assembly in the side frames. The guide lever has a guide slot in its first region, and a guide pin, which engages in the guide slot, is connected to the strut assigned to the guide lever, and a cam is connected to the strut, and a cam follower is connected to the guide lever in its first region, wherein the cam and the cam follower interact in an end phase of the unfolding process of the wheelchair for the purpose of displacing the guide pin into a defined position in the guide slot.
