A wheelchair is provided which includes link rods that intersect each other in an X shape, and are pivotably coupled to each other by a pivot shaft. The link rods include a rod central part, and rod upper and lower parts. The rod central parts hold the pivot shaft. The rod upper and lower parts and slant from first and second inclined parts on the both ends of the rod central part in opposite directions with respect to the rod central part. When the X-link portion is folded, the rod central parts overlap each other and are aligned in one straight line in the vertical orientation, and frame accommodation space portions which can accommodate the middle frame portions are provided on the both sides of the rod central parts.

HAND DRIVE MECHANISM FOR MOBILE VEHICLE
20170252237 · 2017-09-07 ·

A drive mechanism for a wheelchair may include a hand grip having a continuous track that moves over a drive rotator. The hand grip may have a flat, top surface that extends ventrally from the wheelchair. The drive mechanism may include a drivetrain connected to the drive rotator, such that movement of the hand grip in a dorsal or a ventral direction causes the drive rotator to rotate, and such rotation actuates the drivetrain. The drive mechanism may further comprise a switch. When the switch is in a first position, actuation of the drivetrain drives the wheels of the wheelchair. When the switch is in a second position, actuation of the drivetrain drives a mechanism that lifts the wheelchair into a standing position.

Electric wheelchair with quick-release drive wheels
09687397 · 2017-06-27 ·

An electric wheelchair with quick-release drive wheels includes: a chassis, and two guide wheels and two said drive wheels. The drive wheels are rotated by a drive mechanism and connected to the drive mechanism by a quick-release mechanism. To detach the drive wheel, the user can press the cover to make the rolling balls move out of the receiving groove and back to the arc-shaped engaging portion, which allows the hollow shaft to disengage from the drive shaft. Then, keeping pressing the cover can detach the drive wheel from the drive mechanism. To assemble the drive wheel, the user can press the hollow shaft into the axial hole to make the rolling balls engage in the receiving groove, so that the drive wheel is assembled to the drive mechanism. The assembly and disassembly of the drive wheel require no wrenches or other tools, and therefore are very convenient.

Adjustable wheelchair

An adjustable wheelchair is disclosed which adjusts to changes in a user's size and weight which includes a scissor-type foldable mechanism which connects two side frames. Wheels for the wheelchair are attached to each of the side frames. An adjustable seat and adjustable back support are a flexible material which span from one side frame to the other. These are designed to unroll and lengthen or roll up and shorten the width of the seat and the back support between the side frames. The scissor-type foldable mechanism includes a tube which slides within a tube, a threaded rod and a threaded stop which function to allow pre-adjustment of the width of the foldable mechanism such that it may be folded and opened to the pre-adjusted width. The frames may be supplemented with reinforcements to accommodate a change in the user's weight.
