Motor vehicle lock

The invention relates to a motor vehicle lock for a motor vehicle door arrangement, wherein a catch and a pawl are provided. The catch can be brought into an opening position and into a closed position. The catch may be brought into holding engagement with a lock striker. The pawl may be brought into an engagement position. The pawl may be deflected into a release position. A pawl actuation lever is provided for deflecting the pawl. An engagement arrangement is provided. The engagement arrangement comprises a deflection lever on the side of the pawl actuation lever and a counter contour on the side of the pawl. The deflection lever is configured to engage the counter contour. An actuation movement of the pawl actuation lever can deflect the pawl into the release. An inertial characteristic of the deflection lever causes a deflection movement along a free-wheeling path.

A locking unit may include a case unit fixed to a first object; and a magnetic assembly for selectively engaging with a second object which is disposed outside the case unit, the magnetic assembly movably disposed in the case unit and including a plurality of magnets having a same polarity, wherein when a shock is generated, at least a portion of the magnetic assembly moves from inside the case unit to outside the case unit by a repulsive force generated between the plurality of magnets, thereby engaging with the second object and restricting rotation of the second object.

Latch and release mechanisms for waste containers

A latch is usable to latch and automatically unlatch a lid of a waste container. The latch includes a release weight that moves responsive to gravity in a housing from a first position to a second position to cause the latch to disengage from a release receptacle when the latch and the waste container are oriented in a dump angle orientation. The latch includes a rotary damper in the housing that controls movement of the release weight in the housing such that an amount of time for the release weight to move responsive to gravity from the first position to the second position is slower than the amount of time the release weight would move responsive to gravity from the first position to the second position in the housing absent the effect of the rotary damper on the release weight.

Door handle assembly for a motor vehicle

A door handle assembly for a motor vehicle includes an operating handle moveably supported on a handle mounting, a mechanical coupling device and a locking device. An acceleration force can move the locking device from a normal operating position, in which an actuation of the operating handle is possible, in a first blocking direction, in which an actuation of the closing assembly via the operating handle and/or the coupling device, is blocked. The locking device also blocks the door handle assembly when long lasting or strongly pronounced oscillations occur as a result of a crash. In that event, the locking device can move from the normal operating position in a second blocking direction, in which an actuation of the closing assembly via the operating handle and/or the coupling device is blocked, wherein the second blocking direction is oriented opposite the first blocking direction.

DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY

A vehicle door latch assembly for maintaining the vehicle door in a closed position including during an angled impact to the door latch of the vehicle. The latch assembly includes a catch, a pawl, and an actuator coupled to a door latch base. The catch is movable to and from a closed position wherein the catch is configured to grasp a portion of a striker coupled to the vehicle to maintain the door closed. The catch is also movable to and from an open position wherein the catch is configured to release the striker to allow the door to open. The pawl is configured to maintain the catch in the closed position until the door handle is actuated. The latch assembly includes a blocking plate including an extension member which is deformable during an impact to align with one of or both a pawl lifter and the pawl member to prevent their rotation and thereby maintain the latch assembly and the vehicle door in a latched position during such an impact.

VEHICLE CLOSURE SYSTEM INCLUDING SPEED-BASED LATCH RELEASE

A vehicle door includes a door structure and a movable door handle that is connected to a latch mechanism by a cable. A rotatably biased stop member is connected to the cable. The vehicle door further includes a housing having a channel that receives portion of the stop member. The channel includes first and second linear portions and a transverse stop portion that is engaged by the follower to prevent further lengthwise movement of the lock member and cable if a speed of the cable exceeds an allowable value.

Motor vehicle lock

The invention is directed to lock for a vehicle door arrangement, wherein a catch and a pawl are provided. The catch can be brought into an opening position and into a closed position, wherein the catch, which is in the closed position, is or may be brought into holding engagement with a lock striker. The pawl may be brought into an engagement position. A pawl actuation lever is provided for deflecting the pawl into the release position. A switchable coupling arrangement comprises a first coupling lever on the side of the pawl actuation lever, a second coupling lever on the side of the pawl and a moveable coupling element that may be moved into a closing position for a coupling engagement with the two coupling levers and into an opening position for decoupling the two coupling levers. The coupling element is arranged on one of the two coupling levers.

Door handle assembly for a motor vehicle

A door handle assembly for a motor vehicle includes an operating handle, a coupling device, and a locking device which is moveably retained on a handle mounting. An acceleration force can move the assembly from a resting position in which an actuation of the operating handle is possible, in a first blocking direction in which an actuation of the assembly by the operating handle and/or the coupling device is blocked. The locking device can move from the resting position in a second blocking direction when acted on by an acceleration force, in which an actuation of the assembly via the operating handle and/or the coupling device is blocked, wherein the second blocking direction is in the opposite direction from the first blocking direction. Movement of the assembly is blocked by the operating handle, or the coupling device, even with alternating acceleration forces resulting from a crash.

ACTUATING DEVICE FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE LOCK

The invention relates to an actuating device for opening a door or flap, comprising a movably supported inertial mass (7, 9) for avoiding unintentional opening of the door or flap in the event that a specified acceleration is exceeded. Levers are provided for moving the inertial mass (7, 9). When the inertial mass (7, 9) is moved out of an initial position of the inertial mass, the lever ratios change in such a way that the force progression is thereby promoted. In the event of a crash, the opening of a door or flap is avoided by means of the actuating device. The actuating device can nevertheless be actuated relatively comfortably with low expenditure of energy.
