Apparatus and system for turning and positioning a patient
A system for use with a bed having a frame and a supporting surface includes a sheet having a bottom surface placed above the supporting surface of the bed, a top surface, and a plurality of tether straps connected to and extending from the sheet. Each tether strap is configured for connection to the bed. The bottom surface is at least partially formed of a low friction material, and the top surface is at least partially formed of a high friction material, such that the top surface provides greater slipping resistance than the bottom surface. The tether straps include at least two pairs of tether straps, with one pair connected proximate a top edge of the sheet and another pair connected proximate a bottom edge of the sheet. The sheet may further include a sliding member on the bottom surface to assist in lateral sliding of the sheet.
Nursing bed for defecation and self-cleaning
A nursing bed for defecation and self-cleaning comprises a bed frame, a bed board device, a moveable cushion, a support frame, a bedpan, an excreta container; The bedpan is hung under the movable cushion through a support frame. When the patient wants to defecate, the patient only needs to remove a cushion and make the bedpan mouth of the bedpan facing the defecation hole of the moveable cushion, then the patient can defecate on the nursing bed; and further having a cleaning device a warm water supply device, using an electric heater to heat the cleaning water to an appropriate temperature to clean the patient's buttocks, thereby reducing the infection of germs, and also cleaning the excrement that attached to the bedpan to keeps the bedpan clean.
PATIENT SUPPORT USABLE WITH BARIATRIC PATIENTS
A patient support includes a height adjustable patient support deck, at least one guard structure mounted for movement relative to the patient support deck, and a latch operable to lock the position of the guard structure in a raised position. The patient support further includes a CPR release operable to lower the head deck section of the patient support deck to place the patient support in an emergency state and further operable to release the latch to allow the guard rail structure to lower or be lowered from the raised position.
Hospital bed having drainage bag sensor
A patient bed includes a drainage bag sensor. The patient bed includes, for example, a frame configured to support a patient, a drainage bag holder coupled to the frame and configured to support a drainage bag, and a sensor to detect a presence of the drainage bag being supported by the drainage bag holder.
Patient support systems and methods for assisting caregivers with patient care
A patient support system for providing improved guidance and/or troubleshooting with respect to a patient support apparatus. A user interface is configured to receive inputs from a user, and an information output device is configured to provide instructions to the user. A controller determines a guidance protocol for the user based on the inputs. The guidance protocol comprises user-performed actions to be performed by the user in response to the instructions provided to the user with the information output device. The guidance protocol may be initiated and/or determined based on a troubleshooting request and/or an uncorrelated sequence of user inputs. At least one of the user-performed actions may be configured to control operational functions of a patient support apparatus. Methods for improving patient care by providing the guidance and/or troubleshooting are also disclosed.
Patient support apparatus with portable charging device
Techniques for a patient support apparatus are provided to assist in transferring power/data to an external electronic device, such as a smartphone. The patient support apparatus comprises a support structure, a power supply and a portable charging device. The charging device comprises an energy storage unit and a receiving element coupled to the energy storage unit. The receiving element is configured to wirelessly receive power. A receptacle is coupled to the support structure and comprises a surface including a sending element being coupled to the power supply. The surface is configured to receive the charging device. The charging device is removable from the surface. The sending element is configured to wirelessly transfer power to the receiving element of the charging device such that the energy storage unit of the charging device stores the transferred power for charging an external electronic device.
Side rail assembly for a patient support apparatus
A patient support apparatus includes a support structure having a patient support deck and a side rail coupled to the support structure. The side rail is movable relative to the support structure. A lock releasably locks the side rail in one or more side rail positions, such as in a raised position and an intermediate position. A manual release is coupled to the side rail and operable to unlock the side rail. A bypass lever is provided to allow a user to raise the side rail from a lowered position to the raised position without locking in the intermediate position. A damper is located inside the side rail to counterbalance the weight of the side rail and assist the user in raising the side rail, bi-directionally. The side rail is formed of first and second walls that are heat staked together to form a lightweight side rail of suitable strength.
NURSING BED WITH SIDE RAILS MOVABLE BETWEEN STOWED AND DEPLOYED POSITIONS
A nursing bed comprises a bed frame, a bed platform which is disposed atop the bed frame for supporting a patient who is normally disposed in a supine position, and a pair of side rails mounted upon opposite sides of the bed platform so as to be movable between deployed or raised positions and stowed or lowered positions. The side rails are movable by a pair of linear actuators, which may be simultaneously actuated or independently actuated, and a pair of linkage systems operatively connecting the pair of side rails to opposite sides of the bed frame. When the side rails are moved to their deployed or raised positions, the side rails will be disposed at positions adjacent to the side edge portions of the bed platform so as to effectively protect bed-ridden patients by preventing them from inadvertently or unintentionally falling out of bed, and when the side rails are moved to their stowed or lowered positions, the side rails will be stowed beneath the opposite side edge portions of the bed platform so as to provide an esthetically pleasing appearance to the nursing bed as well as to in permit hospital personnel or family members to more easily approach a side of the bed, without interference with the side rails, so as to thereby easily attend to a particular need of the patient.
Mattress having selectable patient weight valve, inductive power, and a digital x-ray cassette
A patient support apparatus includes a frame and a mattress positioned on the frame. The mattress has an electronic component positioned within an interior of the mattress. An inductive power transmitter is coupled to the frame. An inductive power receiver is positioned within the interior of the mattress and electrically coupled to the electronic component.
HOSPITAL BED HAVING DRAINAGE BAG SENSOR
A number of patient beds are disclosed. Some patient beds have siderails that are movable by a patient so that the patient can egress from the bed without interference from the siderails. Various caregiver control panels and patient control panels for controlling features and functions of a patient bed are also disclosed. For example, a cart with caregiver control inputs, including hand inputs on a graphical user interface (GUI) and foot inputs, is disclosed. Patient positioning and transfer devices are also disclosed. Various types of in-bed physical therapy devices are also disclosed.
