Method of powered width expansion of a bed
A bed comprises a fixed width deck section, a wing movably coupled to the fixed width section, and a rack and pinion mechanism for extending and retracting the wing.
Shower stretcher
A shower stretcher assembly (10) includes a frame (22) which supports a platform (20) consisting of three mattress support panels (50-54), and a headboard (16) and foot board (18). The support panels (50-54) define a back rest section (30), a seat section (31) and a foot section (32). The seat section (31) is of flexible material to more closely conform to the shape of a person lying thereon. The stretcher assembly (10) is provided with side barriers (68) at each head and foot end, the side barriers (68) arranged to move between a raised vertical position, a raised position extending outwards from the frame, and a lowered position in which they lie alongside the frame so as to be below the level of the mattress of the stretcher. The side barriers present substantially vertical walls to accommodate a water-resistant mattress with side walls (28).
Support surface useful life monitoring
A patient support apparatus includes a frame, a support surface, and a sensor. The frame and the support surface cooperate to support a patient. The sensor is coupled to one of the frame and the support surface and is configured to provide an input signal indicative of usage of the support surface by the patient.
HOSPITAL CHAIR BEDS WITH EXTENDABLE/RETRACTABLE FOOT SECTIONS
A hospital bed includes a base, a lifting mechanism, a rotating frame configured to rotate horizontally relative to the base, and a patient support surface pivotally secured to the rotating frame. The patient support surface includes a back section, a seat section, and foot section that articulate relative to each other. The patient support surface translates from a bed configuration to a side-egress chair or stand assist configuration. The foot section includes first, second, and third panels operably connected together and that are configured to move relative to each other in substantially parallel overlapping planes between an extended configuration when the patient support surface is in a bed configuration and a retracted configuration when the patient support surface is in a chair configuration. Contact of the foot section with a floor forces the first, second, and third panels to move to the retracted configuration.
PATIENT BED HAVING FOOTBOARD PEDAL APPARATUS FOR PHYSICAL THERAPY
A number of patient beds are disclosed. Some patient beds have siderails that are movable by a patient so that the patient can egress from the bed without interference from the siderails. Various caregiver control panels and patient control panels for controlling features and functions of a patient bed are also disclosed. For example, a cart with caregiver control inputs, including hand inputs on a graphical user interface (GUI) and foot inputs, is disclosed. Patient positioning and transfer devices are also disclosed. Various types of in-bed physical therapy devices are also disclosed.
Left radial access, right room operation, peripheral intervention system
Systems and methods for left radial access, right room operation peripheral interventions are provided that include left radial bases to stabilize a left arm of a cardiac patient across a midsagittal plane, transradiant right radial bases to position a right arm of the patient, and radiodense radiation reduction barriers located between the patient and a doctor.
Patient Support with Stand-Up and Sit Features
A bed is provided having a base frame, a patient support assembly connected to the base frame, and a tilt frame connected between the base frame and the patient support assembly. The tilt frame is rotatable adjacent the foot end of the bed to place the patient support assembly, including the head section, seat section and foot section thereof, in a generally vertical position to allow a patient to exit the bed in a standing orientation. The bed also has a foot board assembly connected to the foot section, the foot board assembly having a foot board separately moveable about a longitudinal axis of the bed toward the head end and the foot end of the bed.

TRANSPORT APPARATUS
A first transport apparatus includes a deck for supporting a patient thereon and a lift mechanism supporting the deck. The deck is removable from the lift mechanism for use as a second transport apparatus or part of a second transport apparatus. The first transport apparatus further includes an electrically powered device at the first transport apparatus, and a user input device for wireless control of the electrically powered device, which is operable at or near the first transport apparatus and the second transport apparatus.
