Hospital bed with pivoting side rail

The hospital bed with pivoting side rail includes a bed frame having a headboard, a footboard and a platform mounted thereon. The side rail has an upper end, a lower end, and first and second longitudinally opposed sides. The lower end of the side rail is pivotally attached to the bed frame, and the upper end of the side rail is releasably attached to the headboard and the footboard. In order to safely and easily deploy and collapse the side rail, first and second adjustable struts are provided, the struts having opposed first and second ends, such that the first ends of the first and second adjustable struts are pivotally attached to the first and second sides of the side rail, and the second ends of the first and second adjustable struts are pivotally secured to the headboard and footboard, respectively.

AUTOMATED TURNING SYSTEM FOR AN IMMOBILE PERSON

The present invention particularly is an automated turning system for an immobile person and is aimed to reduce or avoid bedsores. The invention allows for appropriate turning of the immobile person on a regular schedule as well as when the system detects circumstances where pressure sores are likely to occur. The system can be adapted for use with an existing bed or can be manufactured together with a bed.

Bed sheet with anti-slip strip

The bed sheet with anti-slip strip is configured for use with a reclining bed. The reclining bed is further with a mattress. The mattress is a cushion on which a patient rests. The patient refers to an individual using the invention. The reclining bed forms an adjustable cant between a plane parallel to a supporting surface and a portion of the mattress. The cant formed by the reclining bed is adjustable. The bed sheet with anti-slip strip comprises the reclining bed, a fitted sheet, and a friction strip. The fitted sheet is a sheet used to cover the mattress. The friction strip is a structure that prevents the patient from shifting position relative to the mattress when the patient rests on the fitted sheet.

Patient support apparatuses with multi-sensor fusion

A patient support apparatus includes a plurality of primary sensors adapted to measure different parameters used in the control of the patient support apparatus. One or more suites of secondary sensors are added to the patient support apparatus to provide data about the primary sensors. The secondary sensors may be used to detect errors in the primary sensors, to modify outputs from the primary sensors, and/or to provide usage and/or diagnostic data about the use of the patient support apparatus. The suite(s) of secondary sensors may measure parameters that affect the outputs of one or more of the primary sensors. In some embodiments, the suite(s) of secondary sensors include one or more dormant sensors that are not used on the patient support apparatus until a code modification is received from one or more external sources instructing the control system of the patient support apparatus to begin using the dormant sensor(s).

PATIENT CARE SYSTEM WITH POWER MANAGEMENT

A patient support apparatus, such as a bed, cot, stretcher, operating table, recliner, or the like, include a litter frame, a support deck, a battery, an AC connector for receiving electrical power, a plurality of motorized actuators, and a control system. The control system limits the amount of electrical power available to the motorized actuators to different levels depending upon whether the AC connector or the battery is powering the patient support apparatus. The control system may also or alternatively change the power available to the motorized actuators depending upon whether a mattress therapy is currently in progress or not. Still further, the control system may pause battery recharging during actuator movement, may utilize one or electronic fuses to control power delivery, and/or wake up sleeping (or shut down) microcontrollers using a specialized network transceiver command that cause the recipient transceiver to wake up its associated microcontroller.

In a method for closing a space between a first tooth and a second tooth, a pair of dental matrices is used. The pair of dental matrices is selected using a matrix selection tool, such as a gauge having a distal end section with color coded sections.

Bed with retractable side extension

The bed with retractable side extension has a retractable shelf positioned below the mattress, the shelf being extendable from a side of the bed. The shelf has a face plate and a railing mounted on the face plate that moves outward with the shelf when the shelf is extended. A height-adjustable platform is mounted on the shelf. When the shelf is fully extended, the platform may be raised so that a top surface of the platform is level with the bed's mattress and an inner edge of the platform is adjacent the mattress. The platform is held in place by an adjustable support, which may releasably lock the platform in the raised position and can be unlocked to lower the platform back onto the shelf.

DEVICE FOR TRANSPORT AND MEDICAL CARE OF PATIENTS

A device for transport and medical care of patients consists of a chassis (1) with wheels (11) arranged in corners of a virtual parallelogram with a central longitudinal axis of symmetry (X-X). The device further comprises a bed (2) consisting of a support frame (20) and being supported on said chassis (1) by means of a pair of telescopic support poles (3, 4) mutually spaced apart in direction of said axis (X-X) and displaceable in vertical direction. Said telescopic support poles (3, 4) are each arranged at its side of said axis (X-X), namely each in its diagonally opposite corner (111, 112) of said virtual parallelogram formed by the wheels (11) of the chassis (1). The support frame (20) of said bed (2) is formed without any transversal or longitudinal reinforcing element, with the exception of areas (21, 22) that are reasonably present above the support poles (3, 4) and are diagonally opposite to said axis (X-X).
