Distribution pad for a temperature control system
An air distribution pad comprises an upper layer, a lower layer, and a spacer material located between the upper layer and the lower layer, the spacer material configured to allow air to pass therethrough. An air distributor is configured to distribute air to the spacer material, wherein the air distributor comprises a port configured to receive an air hose, wherein the port is directed laterally sideways from the air distributor. At least one joining structure is coupled to the upper layer and the lower layer, the at least one joining structure providing one or more channels formed through the spacer material in fluid communication with the air distributor. The one or more channels are configured to direct generally laterally flowing air from the port of the air distributor to a generally longitudinal direction along the at least one channel.
LOW AIR LOSS MATTRESS HAVING A LOW ACOUSTIC SIGNATURE AND INTERCHANGEABLE AIR PUMP CARTRIDGE
A low air loss mattress to provide a variable pressure to an individual who is confined to a bed. The mattress has an air plenum and a motor driven blower to inflate the air plenum. The blower is housed within a pull-out and interchangeable pump cartridge that is received within a pump cartridge receptacle inside the mattress. The pump cartridge is removable from the pump cartridge receptacle to permit the blower to be repaired or replaced without having to discard the mattress. Ambient air is supplied to the blower by way of a tuned air pump inlet path that winds between a pair of sound absorbing blocks. Air is blown front the blower to the air plenum by way of a tuned air manifold that is located inside the mattress to inflate the air plenum. Bluetooth compatible sensors located inside the mattress are responsive to physical parameters to which the mattress is subjected.
SUPPORT SURFACE OVERLAY WITH VACUUM ENCLOSURE AND METHOD OF OPERATION
A support surface overly having first and second independently inflatable compartments is disposed within an envelope. Air may be removed from the envelope so that side panels of the envelope collapse against corresponding surfaces of the overlay to inhibit lateral motion of the panels with respect to the surfaces of the overlay.
SELECTIVE AIR SEGMENT CONTROL FOR A PATIENT SUPPORT MATTRESS
A patient support mattress generally comprises one or more air segments/air cells/air sections/air bladders in a head portion of the patient support mattress and a selective air control mechanism connected to one or more adjacent individual air segments supporting a head portion of a body of a patient. The one or more adjacent individual air segments are located at the head portion of the patient support mattress. The selective air control mechanism selectively deflates and/or inflates the one or more adjacent individual air segments of the plurality of air segments.
Patient/invalid handling support
A patient support for supporting a patient includes an inflatable mattress defining a support surface and a pneumatic system for inflating the inflatable mattress. The pneumatic system includes a pressurized reservoir for holding pressurized air and selectively releases pressurized air from the reservoir to the mattress.
Patient support apparatus and method
A patient support is provided. The patient support may include a plurality of inflatable members. The plurality of inflatable members may include a core including a resilient material. The patient support may be controlled with a first controller positioned within an envelope of the patient support. The patient support may include a detector to detect when an external controller is coupled to the patient support, the patient support being controlled by the second controller when the second controller is present.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PATIENT TURNING AND REPOSITIONING
The present disclosure relates to a patient support which can be used in a bed or flat surface and in particular to a system and method for support and offloading of the body and for turning and repositioning of a patient in a bed or on a flat surface. Features of the disclosure also relate to markings and other indicators used on the patient support which help guide caregivers in the proper use and correct patient positioning on the patient support.

Features of the disclosure also relate to markings and other indicators used on the patient support which help guide caregivers in the proper use and correct patient positioning on the patient support.
Ventilation system
A ventilation system includes a plurality of air tubes within the sheet all of which are interconnected to a manifold. The topside surface of the air tubes comprises a plurality of nozzles which communicate with the outside environment of the sheet. The sheet is configured to create a positive flow of air through each nozzle when the manifold is connected to the exhaust portion of a blower. The system also includes means for administering a scented material in the flow of air generated by the blower. The blower motor may be operated by remote control.
PATIENT SUPPORT APPARATUS WITH TOUCHSCREEN
A patient support apparatus, such as a bed, cot, stretcher, operating table, recliner, or the like, includes a litter frame, a support deck supported on the litter frame and adapted to support a mattress thereon, a touchscreen and a controller configured for carrying out various functions and to display various screens on the touchscreen, including screens for controlling a mattress therapy function or for controlling a non-mattress function of the patient support apparatus. A notification regarding the status of a mattress therapy function can be displayed on various screens. Status indications can be provided as a banner across a portion of the touchscreen.
