Device for optimal airway opening
Described is a wearable device that combines a mechanism which is configured for modifying a head angle of the subject when in the supine position in order to achieve a head tilt position and a mechanism for causing a forward movement of the mandibles in order to obtain an optimal open airway in a subject. Embodiments of the device are configured to be attached to a bed, stretcher, or other flat surface.
Autonomus and user-input reconfigurable proning bed and method for reconfiguring proning bed in the treatment of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)
There is provided a reconfigurable autonomous and user-input proning bed. The proning bed includes controllers and at least one of: a head position system (HPS) to detect a position of the head of the patient configurable and reconfigurable to be automatically positioned; an arms position system (APS) to detect the presence of the arms of the patient and change a level and inclination of APS upper sections and APS lower sections; a legs position system (LPS) to detect the presence of the legs of the patient and change a level and inclination of LPS upper sections and LPS lower sections; and a body position system (BPS) to detect the presence of the torso of the patient and change a level and inclination of a BPS upper section and a BPS lower section. The proning bed can include an integrated entertainment position system and side rail position system.
PORTABLE MEDICAL LIFT AND POSITIONING DEVICE
A lift and position device and methods of use therewith designed to aid attendants in moving and propping the various selected body parts of a patient from atop a support surface, for example, a mattress. The device utilizes a base for stability, a separately powered screw jack, radial adjustment head, a cushion cradle and a single or plurality of fitted cushion(s) configured to optimally raise and lower a particular body part of a patient such as his or her arms, torso, legs, back and the like. All elements of the device are ultralight and ultra-strong, some or all of the components of the device being composed of Carbon Fiber, Aluminum, injection molded plastic, and Titanium. The device utilizes advantageous mechanics of jack technology modified to suit the specific needs of an attendant wishing to the lift, position or prop and secure a particular body part of a patient, for example, an immobile, obese or otherwise incapacitated patient. In addition, the device will aid in daily turning of patients, pulmonary relief via leg elevation and enhanced healing by securely holding appendages still and securely at various angles and heights for an unlimited amount of time.
POSITION CORRECTION PILLOW
A support pillow to control involuntary muscle movement, during sleep or rest is provided. The support pillow includes a first lateral body; a second lateral body; and a horizontal central strap mechanically connected to the first lateral body and the second lateral body. The first lateral body and second lateral body further includes an inner layer and a plurality of pockets of a weighted material. The central strap gives flexibility to the first and second lateral bodies and does not restrict the person to any particular position throughout the sleep. The support pillow is also designed to receive the force or pressure created by the pull of the person's/user's body parts.
SLIDING JAW THRUST DEVICE
A device and method that facilitates performance of a jaw thrust maneuver. A base connected to a rack and pinion mechanism including at least one pinion rotatably attached to the base and at least two racks slidably attached to the base and engaged with the pinion to move in opposite directions upon rotation of at least one pinion. A pair of arms, each pivotably coupled to one of the racks to allow rotational freedom of motion. A patient's head is placed in supine position and a pair of arms slides towards the patient's head in synchrony to position the arms to clear the patient's airways.
PRONE POSITION PILLOW SYSTEM
A prone position pillow system has a head support portion, an elongated torso component with a cavity, and an insert pillow that can be inserted into the cavity to form an empty space below. The torso component includes a sagittal oriented face hole and an air tunnel having side openings sized and dimensioned to allow a patient to insert hands into the space below the face hole. A travel pillow rests on the head support portion to support a user's face. An adjustable leg elevation component and a cylindrical component support the user's legs in a comfortable position. The head support portion has one or more grooves that can hold a breathing tube. The torso component can have a second cavity designed to create space for the user's genital area.
Postoperative Buttocks Recovery Bed
The present invention discloses a devise constructed to prevent any pressure caused to a patient while laying and sleeping in a flat position on their backside after surgery to the buttocks area, consisting of a negative pressure site where the buttocks sleeps and rests. The device is used post-surgery during recovery following a Brazilian Butt Lift surgery including, but not limited to, Fat Transfer, Fat Grafting, Liposuction, Butt Shots, Butt Implants, or any surgical procedure to the Gluteal, Buttocks, or Coccyx area. The present device solves this current problem of a patient being uncomfortable or in an unnatural position during rest or sleep while recovering 24 hours a day for 6-8 weeks; and prevents pressure to the buttocks having direct contact with any surface during sleep and resting while inside the negative pressure site, supporting the head, neck, legs, and feet in an elevated position.
Treatment Positioning Headrest
A treatment positioning headrest is provided. The device includes a headrest base having a front side, a rear side, and a pair of lateral sides extending about a perimeter of an upper side of the headrest base. A planar flange extends from a distal end of each of the front side, rear side, and the pair of lateral sides. A depression is defined in the upper side, wherein the depression is dimensioned to conform to a rear portion of a head. A longitudinal ruler is disposed on each lateral side, wherein each longitudinal ruler comprises a plurality of measurement indicia therealong. In some embodiments, a pair of extensions rise from the rear side of the headrest base, wherein the pair of extensions retain the neck therebetween.
Methods for using head positioning pillows to optimize respiratory titration
Presented herein are various methods for using head positioning pillows to optimize respiratory titration. More specifically, the method includes a first step of determining an optimal relative angle between the patient's mouth and throat at which the patient's airway is optimally opened. The method also includes a second step of adjusting a head positioning pillow relative to the patient's head and neck to modify and transform the configuration of the pillow to achieve a pillow position that achieves the optimal relative angle.
SHAPED BODY FOR SUPPORTING A HUMAN HEAD
Shaped body for receiving a skull on a support plane, said shaped body being substantially ring-shaped and being able to counteract the deformation of the skull.
