Atlas-based production of a medical support device

A system and method of producing a medical support device is disclosed. The disclosure determining a three-dimensional shape of the medical support device for supporting an anatomical body part of a patient, the method executed by a computer and including acquiring body part geometry data describing a geometry of the anatomical body part; acquiring medical procedure data describing a medical procedure to be carried out on the patient; acquiring atlas data describing a general three-dimensional shape of the anatomical body part; determining, based on the body part geometry data and the medical procedure data and the atlas data, support device geometry data describing the geometry of the support device. The method and system further includes generative forming of the device by issuing at least one control command to the generative forming device for forming the medical support device based on the support device geometry data.

Imaging table-to-head frame adapter

An adapter to be used to position and restrain a patient's head movement during magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT) imaging, positron emission tomography (PET) imaging, X-ray imaging or other imaging or medical procedures. The adapter has a high degree of adjustability and modularity. The adapter can be fitted to a patient quickly and comfortably by offering translational, rotational and height adjustment during the fitting procedure, thereby reducing the overall time for the MRI. The adapter includes a base, one or more attachment members to selectively affix the base to an imaging table, a pair of upwardly extending spaced-apart supports attached to the base, a stabilizer frame rotatably attached to the pair of supports, and a locking mechanism to selectively prevent rotation of the frame attached to the pair of supports.

SURGICAL FRAME FACILITATING ARTICULATABLE SUPPORT FOR A PATIENT DURING SURGERY
20210069047 · 2021-03-11 ·

A positioning frame for supporting a patient to facilitate different surgical approaches to the spine includes a main support beam, first and second support structures, a torso-lift support, and a pelvic-tilt support. The main support beam has a first end, a second end, and a length extending between the first and second ends. The main support beam defines an axis of rotation relative to at least a first support structure and a second support structure, and the axis of rotation substantially corresponds to a cranial-caudal axis of the patient when the patient is supported on the positioning frame. The first and second support structures support the main support beam, and space the main support beam from the ground. The torso-lift support is attached to the main support beam, and is configured to pivot a chest support plate between at least a first position and a second position to move the torso of the patient between an unlifted position and a lifted position. The pelvic-tilt support is attached to the main support beam, and is configured to support the thighs and the lower legs of the patient. Portions of the pelvic-tilt support are pivotal with respect to one another to facilitate adjustment of the hips of the patient.

Portable body support comprising mask and saddle

The present invention relates to a portable body support and, more particularly, a body support providing functions of preventing the body from sliding down from an inclined support and also completely relieving load on the neck supporting the head at a face support part of the body support when the body support, such as a folding table or a portable temporary bed, is obliquely set up on the floor and used in a prone position so as to be useable for activities such as reading, thereby ensuring an effect of providing a technical configuration for not generating neck pain at all. As to the technical configuration, provided is the portable body support for coupling a face support mask and a pelvis support saddle to each other by using hinges, bolts and the like and constructing the coupled mask and saddle. When reading for a long time in a prone state by using the portable body support, comprising the mask and the saddle, of the present invention, neck pain, whole body fatigue, and the like are not generated at all, and an advantage of maintaining, for a long time, mental strength and posture to concentrate conveniently on reading in a prone state is guaranteed.

Medical posture retainer

The present invention is a medical posture retainer having a mat and a core member. The mat includes an airtight bag and a cushion layer. The airtight bag is a cover of the mat and has a gas barrier property. An exhaust valve for deflation is attached to the bag. The cushion layer is formed of particles in the bag. The core member includes a plate-like support that is attached to a side face of the hag to keep a certain rise height, and a stopper that is attached to the upper face and the lower face of the airtight bag to restrict the rise height. The core member is attached before deflation of the bag so as to impart a shape necessary for receiving a specific part of a human body.

PATIENT FACE SHEET

The present disclosure relates generally to a patient face sheet for a therapy treatment table including a headrest. The patient face sheet may be used in conjunction with an optional pillow including a face opening which is positioned to align with the corresponding opening in the headrest. The patient face sheet comprises a main panel to which a protective skirt is connected. The main panel includes a central and generally circular-shaped opening about which the protective skirt is connected. The protective skirt is draped within both the face hole and the corresponding hole to provide substantially full shielding of the optional pillow and the headrest from the patient's head.

Head support device

A neck collar can include a unitary foam pillow having extending from a first side first and second collar straps that extend opposite one another and terminate in respective distal ends separated by a space having a first distance in a relaxed state. The neck collar can also include an elastically deformable spring member embedded in the unitary foam pillow, the elastically deformable spring member being generally C-shaped in the relaxed state and having portions extending into both of the first and second collar straps. The elastically deformable spring member can be deformed such that the first distance is increased to a second distance.

Apparatus to secure field generating device to chair

An apparatus includes a body, an upright member, a frame, and a plurality of field generating elements. The body is configured to be positioned between a patient's back and a backrest of a chair. The upright member extends upwardly from the body. The frame has a curved configuration configured to partially surround a patient's head. The field generating elements are configured to generate an electromagnetic field around a patient's head partially surrounded by the frame.

A method of securing a patient onto an operating table when the patient is in a position such as the trendelenburg position and apparatus therefor including a kit. A viscoelastic pad is used to support and hold a patient on a medical procedure table during a medical procedure performed while the table, and thus the patient lying thereon, is in an inclined position, such as the Trendelenburg position. The viscoelastic pad has characteristics which promote a minimization of pressure forces on the patients body, as well as promote a secure cushioning and holding of the patient in a desired position on the table, in order to minimize injury to the patient.
