DUAL-PURPOSE TREATMENT TABLE
20210401652 · 2021-12-30 ·

The present invention relates to treatment tables, and more specifically to a treatment table that is adaptable for the dual purposes of conducting therapy or physical examinations, including pelvic examinations and treatment. The treatment table comprises at least a first section and a second section wherein the first section and the second section are both independently adjustable to tilt towards each other. The treatment table may also comprise a removable leg rest on each side of the table that is independently postionable along the length of the treatment table. The treatment table may also comprise a head rest comprised of a first head rest section and a second head rest section which extends the head rest farther from the treatment table, wherein the first head rest section is removable and the second head rest section is on a spring loaded hinge bendable into a downward angle from the original position.

Systems and methods for concomitant medical procedures

Systems and methods for performing concomitant medical procedures are disclosed. In one aspect, the method involves controlling a first robotic arm to insert a first medical instrument through a first opening of a patient and controlling a second robotic arm to insert a second medical instrument through a second opening of the patient. The first robotic arm and the second robotic arm are part of a first platform and the first opening and the second opening are positioned at two different anatomical regions of the patient.

In general, various surgical patient positioners and methods for using the same are provided. For example, a surgical patient support is provided for use during anterior hip replacement surgery. The surgical patient support can have a body support configured to receive an upper body of a patient thereon and one or more extremity supports configured to receive one or more patient extremities thereon.

Ultrasound assisted catheter placement system

A deep vein intravenous introducer has a wheel located toward the front end of the device that can be rotated by the index finger of the user. After placement of the needle in the lumen of the vessel, the user rotates the wheel, which advances the wire guide through the center of the needle and into the patient. Once the guide wire is advanced into the vessel lumen the catheter can be advanced over the guide wire with a hub or finger tab on the catheter close to the index finger. The operation can be performed by one hand without moving the hand from its initial position. The user can then simultaneously use the other hand to operate an ultrasound detection device during insertion without the assistance of another person.

A surgical system can include a master controller for controlling one or more surgical tools, The system can also include an input on the master controller configured to change the master controller from a first mode into a second mode. The first mode can be a teleoperation mode and the second mode can be a virtual marking mode. In the virtual marking mode, a user is capable of communicating a virtual marker to other staff.

Systems, methods, and workflows for concomitant procedures

Systems, methods, and workflows for concomitant procedures are disclosed. In one aspect, the method includes manipulating a flexible instrument using a first robotic arm of a robotic system, manipulating a rigid instrument using a second robotic arm of the robotic system, displaying feedback from the flexible instrument, and displaying feedback from the rigid instrument.

A surgical frame and method for use thereof is provided. The surgical frame is capable of reconfiguration before, during, or after surgery. The surgical frame includes a main beam that can be rotated, raised/lowered, and tilted upwardly/downwardly to afford positioning and repositioning of a patient supported thereon. The surgical frame also includes a pelvic support for supporting a patient during movement of the main beam. The pelvic support is articulable between at least a retracted first position where the pelvic support is withdrawn from the pelvic area of the patient, and an extended second position where the pelvic area is supported thereby.

ARMBOARD ASSEMBLIES FOR SUPPORTING AND POSITIONING A LIMB RELATIVE TO A MOUNTING STRUCTURE

An armboard assembly includes an armboard deck including a cavity formed in a lower surface of the armboard deck, an armboard mount including a plurality of radially extending teeth positioned within a mount portion of the cavity, and an engagement assembly movable relative to the armboard deck between an engaged position to engage the plurality of teeth of the armboard mount and a disengaged position to disengage the plurality of teeth of the armboard mount. The engagement assembly includes a handle including one or more legs extending from an upper surface of the handle, which engage an insertion hole formed in the armboard deck and a channel extending from the insertion hole toward the armboard mount, and an indexing member positioned within the cavity of the armboard deck and coupled to the handle. The indexing member limits movement of the engagement assembly by maintaining the legs within the channel.

PATIENT POSITIONING SYSTEM

A system and method are disclosed for positioning a patient on an operating table. The patient positioning system includes a positioning pad having a body formed from a compressible material including a slip-resistant surface, a first end and a second end. The body has a thickness which increases from the first end of the positioning pad to the second end of the positioning pad. A plurality of tethers is fixedly secured to the body. Each of the tethers includes a fastening member adapted to secure the body to an operating table. The body includes a transverse cut which extends transversely from one side wall of the body to an opposite side wall of the body. The system also includes a sheet positioned within the transverse cut of the body of the positioning pad spaced from the slip-resistant surface of the positioning pad and at least one strap for securing the patient to the operating table. The positioning pad may include a perforated section to mirror a perineal cutout of an operating table.
