Pad assembly, system, method of pre-load positioning of patient for medical procedure and kit

A pad assembly, system and method of securing a patient onto an operating table when the patient is in the Trendelenburg position. The pad assembly and system is used to support and hold a patient on a medical procedure table during a medical procedure performed while the table, and thus the patient lying thereon, is in an inclined position, such as the Trendelenburg position. The pad assembly and system has characteristics which promote improved securing to eliminate shifting and/or sliding due to gravitational forces when the patient's body is in the Trendelenburg position, as well as promote a secure holding of the patient in a desired position on the table, in order to minimize injury to the patient. The pad assembly and system further has improved channels to allow for drainage of fluids that may otherwise be trapped between the patient's body and the OR Table during the surgical procedure.

Leg pulling device

A leg pulling device has a traction device and a supporting device. At least one force or at least one pressure which is exerted on a patient by the supporting device upon the actuation of the traction device can be measured.

Anatomical gripping system for gripping the leg and foot of a patient when effecting hip distraction and/or when effecting leg positioning

An anatomical gripping system comprising: a binding comprising: a substantially rigid spine; a calf shell mounted to the substantially rigid spine; an anterior shell; and a clamping mechanism connecting the anterior shell to the calf shell; wherein the calf shell comprises a flexible portion configured to selectively engage the superior portion of the calcaneus bone of a patient; and further wherein when the clamping mechanism applies a force to the flexible portion of the calf shell, the flexible portion of the calf shell is drawn into engagement with the superior portion of the calcaneus bone of the patient.

FIXTURE ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR POSITIONING APPENDAGE FOR DIGITAL SCANNING

Provided herein is an adjustable fixture assembly for supporting an appendage of a patient, such as a foot and/or leg, in a desirable position to allow for a comprehensive scan of the appendage. The adjustable fixture assembly comprising a base, a support member, and a platform. A ball joint secures a first end of the support member to the based and a second end of the support member is coupled to the platform. The adjustable fixture assembly is configured to support the foot and/or leg of a patient on the platform, which is configured to pivot about three degrees of freedom relative to the base. The adjustable fixture assembly can optionally include a harness assembly for manually manipulating the position and orientation of the platform and a foot support assembly to engage with the heal of the foot to further support the patient's foot and/or leg on the platform.

Surgical frame facilitating articulatable support for a patient during surgery

A positioning frame for supporting a patient to facilitate different surgical approaches to the spine includes a main support beam, first and second support structures, a torso-lift support, and a pelvic-tilt support. The main support beam has a first end, a second end, and a length extending between the first and second ends. The main support beam defines an axis of rotation relative to at least a first support structure and a second support structure, and the axis of rotation substantially corresponds to a cranial-caudal axis of the patient when the patient is supported on the positioning frame. The first and second support structures support the main support beam, and space the main support beam from the ground. The torso-lift support is attached to the main support beam, and is configured to pivot a chest support plate between at least a first position and a second position to move the torso of the patient between an unlifted position and a lifted position. The pelvic-tilt support is attached to the main support beam, and is configured to support the thighs and the lower legs of the patient. Portions of the pelvic-tilt support are pivotal with respect to one another to facilitate adjustment of the hips of the patient.

Method and apparatus for securing a patient's limb

A limb support apparatus and corresponding methods for making same are disclosed. The limb support can comprise a shell for supporting a patient's limb during treatment, examination, and/or recovery. The shell can comprise at least one padding configured to protect the patient's limb. The padding can be secured to the shell using one or more mounting structures included in the padding. The mounting structures are configured such that they are received by corresponding mounting openings and/or features in the shell. An interference fit between the mounting structures and mounting openings/features secures the padding against the shell, thereby preventing the padding from inadvertently moving or sliding on the shell. Embodiments disclosed herein eliminate the need for traditionally used fasteners that are often difficult to clean and sterilize, thereby improving the quality of patient care and facilitating cleaning of patient and/or operating rooms.

Modular knee extension device

A modular device is configured to provide different levels of knee extension to a patient by being moveable between an assembled or “rest” configuration and a detached or “therapy” configuration. The device includes a proximal section with an inclined upper surface and a separate distal section with an inclined upper surface. When attached, the proximal and distal sections form a single continuous incline for supporting a patient's leg. At least one of the sections also includes an ankle supporting cavity that holds the patient's ankle and heel and provides greater stretching/extension of the patient's knee.

DISTRACTION FRAME FOR EFFECTING HIP DISTRACTION

A distraction frame includes a table mount for removably mounting the distraction frame to a surgical table; at least one horizontal strut mounted to the table mount; at least one vertical strut mounted to the at least one horizontal strut; and at least one distractor mounted to the at least one vertical strut, wherein the at least one distractor is configured for connection to a limb of a patient and for applying a distraction force to the limb of the patient; wherein the table mount comprises at least one wheel for selectively supporting the table mount above the floor and the at least one horizontal strut comprises at least one caster for selectively rollably supporting the at least one horizontal strut on the floor so that the distraction frame can be selectively moved to the surgical table supported by the at least one wheel and the at least one caster.

CIRCULAR FIXATOR SYSTEM AND METHOD

A device comprises a base. A support is attached to the base. The support is shaped to receive a calf of a person and adapted to receive a wire or pin for securing a tibia of a person. A foot plate is attachable to the base. The foot plate has a plurality of attached members. The members are configured for receiving at least a first wire or pin to fix a foot of the person relative to the foot plate while the foot plate is oriented normal to a superior-inferior direction of the foot. The foot plate is rotatable relative to the base while the foot plate is attached to the base.
