Limb positioning system and method of manufacture
The present disclosure provides a subassembly of a limb positioning system, the subassembly comprising a first clamp comprising an aperture and a first socket, a crossbar extending through the aperture of the first clamp, and a first ball coupled to a first cuff, wherein the first ball is configured to be inserted into the first socket of the first clamp and allow rotation of the first cuff relative to the first clamp.
CHAIR-TO-TABLE PROCEDURE APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR REVERSIBLE USE
One embodiment of the present invention is directed to a convertible chair-to-table apparatus configured for reversible use. The apparatus may have a headrest on the leg board of the chair to enable a patient to use the chair with the patient's torso on the leg board. The invention is also directed to a method of using the apparatus by moving a patient's torso between the leg board and the back board of the apparatus.
Forearm and wrist fracture table
A forearm and wrist fracture table includes base members, vertical bars, horizontal bars, an elbow support member and a hand support member. The vertical bars includes a first vertical bar and a second vertical bar attached to the support base members. The horizontal bars are attached between the support base members and vertical bars to provide horizontal stability and length adjustment between the support base members and the vertical bars. The elbow support member is attached to the first vertical bar to provide support for the elbow. The hand support member is attached to the second vertical bar to receive and support a hand extending from the elbow, wherein the fractured arm is supported between the elbow support member and the hand support member, wherein a surgeon is allowed to modulate an amount of needing pressure required to distract fracture fragments, and thereby reducing fracture and healing the fracture site.
SPINAL DEFORMITY CORRECTION AND FUSION SURGERY SUPPORTING DEVICE
A spinal deformity correction and fusion surgery supporting device is capable of simplifying the operative procedures of a spinal deformity correction and fusion surgery by an operator to reduce the operative time and lessen the burden on the patient and achieving a more effective correction rate by the spinal deformity correction and fusion surgery. In this supporting device, the waist and the vicinity thereof are pressed from both sides in the left-right direction by a pair of waist pressing bodies, and the chest and the vicinity thereof are pressed from both sides in the left-right direction by a pair of chest pressing body to establish a trunk balance. In this state, the pair of chest pressing bodies and the pair of waist pressing bodies are moved away from each other to apply a tensile load to spinal deformity and a state in which the spinal deformity is corrected so as to approach a correction rate by the spinal deformity correction and fusion surgery can be maintained. As a result, a more effective correction rate is achieved by spinal deformity correction and fusion surgery while simplifying the operative procedures of spinal deformity correction and fusion surgery, shortening the operative time, and lessening the burden on the patient.
SURGICAL PATIENT POSITIONER APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHOD
A modular surgical patient positioner unit apparatus, system and method for adjustably positioning human joints such as knees for surgical operating procedures having a base plate to support moveably a transformable carriage that can be releasably locked in position and which adjustably supports a boot or other limb holder which can be releasably locked in position by the carriage. The base plate also is configured with a side bar located at a mid-portion of the base plate to secure to an arc clamp configured to secure the positioning system to a side rail of an operating table in a medical procedure on the left or right side of the body. An extension unit also is provided and configured to secure to a lower surface of the base plate to extend the base plate of the system, as needed, for larger limbs of patients, which extension unit is configured with a stud and post locking portions for securing to the base plate and for positioning in a medical procedure on either side of the body.
Systems and methods for head up cardiopulmonary resuscitation
A method for performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) includes elevating the heart of an individual to a first height relative to a lower body of the individual. The lower body may be in a substantially horizontal plane. The method may also include elevating the head of the individual to a second height relative to the lower body of the individual. The second height may be greater than the first height. The method may further include performing one or more of a type of CPR or a type of intrathoracic pressure regulation while elevating the heart and the head. The first height and the second height may be determined based on one or both of the type of CPR or the type of intrathoracic pressure regulation.
Surgical positioner
In general, various surgical patient positioners and methods for using the same are provided. For example, a surgical patient support is provided for use during anterior hip replacement surgery. The surgical patient support can have a body support configured to receive an upper body of a patient thereon and one or more extremity supports configured to receive one or more patient extremities thereon.
FIXATION APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TOTAL ANKLE REPLACEMENT
A device comprises a base. A support is attached to the base. The support is shaped to receive a calf of a person and adapted to receive a wire or pin for securing a tibia of a person. A foot plate is attachable to the base. The foot plate has a plurality of attached members. The members are configured for receiving at least a first wire or pin to fix a foot of the person relative to the foot plate while the foot plate is oriented normal to a superior-inferior direction of the foot. The foot plate is rotatable relative to the base while the foot plate is attached to the base.
Device and method for a portable prone surgical positioning
A method and a portable prone surgical positioning device are provided which includes: a base frame assembly having a length varying assembly; a pair of chest supporting frames for a patient to lay in prone position thereupon; a width varying assembly connected to the pair of chest supporting frames; and a curvature varying assembly, connected to the base frame assembly and the width varying assembly, operable to change a curvature of the pair of chest supporting frames.
KNEE POSITIONING SYSTEM WITH CLEANOUT CHANNEL
A rail assembly for a knee positioning system that includes a base and a pair of rails removably coupled to the base. Each of the rails defines a plurality of positioning slots formed therein, each of the positioning slots being at least partially aligned with a corresponding positioning slot of the other rail. At least one of the rails and the base form at least one cleanout channel therebetween that is configured to receive a cleaning fluid for removing contaminants that collect on the at least one rail and the base.
