SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PATIENT POSITIONING IN AN AUTOMATED SURGERY
20210077331 · 2021-03-18 ·

The present solution is generally directed to a patient positioning system used to position body parts, such as a knee, during a medical or surgical procedure. Further, the present solution is generally directed to a system and method for establishing and tracking virtual boundaries, and controlling a patient positioning system to adjust those virtual boundaries to facilitate an automated surgery procedure. Further, the present solution is generally directed to the synergistic combination of an autonomous patient positioning sub-system with a robotic surgical manipulator sub-system.

Limb positioning apparatus and methods of use thereof

A limb positioning apparatus comprises a vertical post connected to the operating table near the shoulder of the patient and a boom member connected to the vertical post through a hinge. The hinge allows the angle between the vertical post and the boom member to be adjusted with assistance from a lockable gas spring attached to the hinge. The vertical post and the boom member house the internal cables for transferring the primary traction load to the operative limb.

Table attachment for direct anterior surgical approach of the hip
10912698 · 2021-02-09 ·

A surgical table attachment for providing hyperextension of the hip joint during direct anterior approach without need for lowering the distal end of the operating table. The attachment will allow external rotation as well as adduction for better exposure of the proximal end of the femur. It further allows for motorized traction of the lower extremity controlled by the operating surgeon. The inventive device conveniently incorporates a femoral elevator mechanism that will raise the proximal end of the femoral bone for better visualization through the wound and easier reduction of the implant. The device is easily used with any conventional surgical table and can made from radiolucent material allowing intraoperative X-ray control.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ADJUSTING REMOTE CENTER DISTANCES IN MEDICAL PROCEDURES

Systems and methods for adjusting remote center distances in medical procedures are provided. In one aspect, a robotic medical system includes a first robotic arm including a first instrument driver, wherein the first instrument driver is configured to manipulate a first tool that passes through a first cannula, and a second robotic arm including a second instrument driver, wherein the second instrument driver is configured to manipulate a second tool that passes through a second cannula. The first tool is configured to rotate about a first remote center of motion and the second tool is configured to rotate about a second remote center of motion. A first remote center distance between the first robotic arm and the first remote center of motion is different from a second remote center distance between the second robotic arm and the second remote center of motion.

Patient positioning apparatus, system and method with socket connector for positioning patient in lateral position

A support system for positioning a patient in lateral position during surgery procedures with a removable, adjustable support pad assembly, comprising a first support unit arranged for attachment to side rail on a lateral edge of an operating table, and a second support unit comprising an arm connected movably by the using of a movable connection with a pad plate adapted to position a support pad connected by a biasing connector to a support plate with degrees of freedom of angular rotational movement of the support pad in relation to the patient. The biasing connector comprises a channel formed between a base plate support segment and a projection clamping the pad plate apart from the support plate to allow flow of air and/or fluids from the support pad.

Systems and methods for location sensor-based branch prediction
10905499 · 2021-02-02 · ·

Provided are systems and methods for location sensor-based branch prediction. In one aspect, the method includes determining a first orientation of an instrument based on first location data generated by a set of one or more location sensors for the instrument and determining a second orientation of the instrument at a second time based on second location data. A distal end of the instrument is located within a first segment of a model at the first time and the second time and the first segment branches into two or more child segments. The method also includes determining data indicative of a difference between the first orientation and the second orientation and determining a prediction that the instrument will advance into a first one of the child segments based on the data indicative of the difference.

Surgical table and method for use thereof

A surgical table includes a sagittal adjustment device for manipulating the position of a patient. The surgical table includes a base portion including an upper surface for spacing the sagittal adjustment device from the ground. The sagittal adjustment device includes a first support portion and a second support portion. The first and second support portions are supported by and moveable over the upper surface of the base portion. The first and second support portions each include an upper surface configured to support portions of the body of the patient thereon. One of the first and second support portions is pivotally attached to the base portion, and moveable between a first position and a second position. The pivotal movement between the first and second positions of the one of the first and second portions serves in repositioning the body of patient to manipulate the spine of the patient.

Circular fixator system and method

A device comprises a base. A support is attached to the base. The support is shaped to receive a calf of a person and adapted to receive a wire or pin for securing a tibia of a person. A foot plate is attachable to the base. The foot plate has a plurality of attached members. The members are configured for receiving at least a first wire or pin to fix a foot of the person relative to the foot plate while the foot plate is oriented normal to a superior-inferior direction of the foot. The foot plate is rotatable relative to the base while the foot plate is attached to the base.

Lift for extremity surgical positioning device

The present inventive subject matter describes a device and system for positioning, adjusting, and stretching a patient's extremity for surgical procedures where alignment is critical and minute adjustments may be required repeatedly. The device helps in maintaining the patient's extremity stationary, once the physician has selected the precise position for the elected procedure. The device uses using a combination of an articulating and a rotating frame, support plates and support rings that are attached to the extremity surgical positioning system. The system acts as a limb splint that is firmly attached to the surgical table. The support plates are attached to the patient via a series of adjustable straps preventing the extremity from moving independently of the support plate. A locking rack and gear configuration has adjustable locking pivot points that are positioned along and within the outer/inner proximal tube and outer/inner distal tube that lengthens or rotates various portions of the extremity.

SPINE SURGERY TABLE PAD

According to the present disclosure, a patient support system includes patient support tops for accommodating various body positions of a patient occupying the patient support tops. The patient support system may include various features to accommodate patient body positioning to facilitate surgical access.
