Dental chair attachment for supporting wheelchairs
10406048 · 2019-09-10 · ·

The dental chair attachment for supporting wheelchairs attaches to the back of a dental chair and reclines a wheelchair when the dental chair is reclined. The wheels of the wheelchair are rolled onto wheel ramps on opposing sides of a back support. Two upper clamps attach the dental chair attachment to the top of the dental chair, and two lower clamps attach the wheelchair to the dental chair attachment. When reclining the dental chair, wheels on the bottom of the back support allow the dental chair attachment to recline simultaneously with the chair by rolling in a direction opposite the dental chair.

LOADING SYSTEM

A loading system for loading a wheelchair into a rear loading space of a vehicle includes at least one loading device disposable on the vehicle. The loading system has at least one first coupling unit disposable on a rear side of a backrest of the wheelchair and fixable to the wheelchair. The loading device has at least one second coupling unit capable of being coupled to the first coupling unit, at least one telescopic loading arm which at an end portion is connected to the coupling unit pivotable about a free pivot axis, and at least one pivot bearing fastenable to a front side end portion of the loading space, by which a pivot bearing the loading arm at another end portion is connected pivotable about a locationally-fixed pivot axis that runs parallel with and spaced apart from the free pivot axis transverse to a vehicle longitudinal direction.

Vehicle wheelchair lift

The present invention provides a compact wheelchair lift mechanism useable within a relatively small vehicle cabin space, such as a pickup truck with an extended cabin. The wheelchair lift includes a lateral actuator and a vertical actuator that cooperate to move a wheelchair support laterally in and out of a vehicle cabin and vertically between the cabin floor and the ground. The vehicle includes a lowered floor for expanding the vertical opening available to the lift, wheelchair, and vehicle occupant. The lift is positioned within the vehicle cabin such that no loss of seating capacity results from the installation of the lift.

In-floor vehicle ramp

A ramp system includes a base frame adapted to be mounted to a vehicle. First and second elongate track members are mounted to the base frame in generally parallel, spaced-apart relation so that they extend along a longitudinal direction. A trolley assembly is moveably mounted to the first and second elongate track members so that the trolley assembly is moveable along the longitudinal direction between retracted and extended positions. A ramp member is pivotally mounted to the trolley assembly. A support roller mounted to the base frame supports a portion of the ramp member. A handle assembly mounted to the ramp member allows a user to move the ramp member between the retracted and extended positions.

Vehicle accessibility system

An accessibility system for providing access into or out of a vehicle includes a pan defining a securement area. The pan includes a first end, a second end, and a support surface. A ramp assembly includes a first segment and a second segment hingedly coupled to the first segment. The ramp assembly is pivotally coupled to and deployable from the pan near the second end. A tailgate assembly is detachably secured and pivotally coupled to the pan such that during deployment of the ramp assembly, the ramp assembly is pivotable about a first axis and the tailgate assembly is pivotable about a second axis parallel to and offset from the first axis.

Ramp assembly for a passenger vehicle

A ramp assembly for providing passenger access to a passenger vehicle. The ramp assembly includes a ramp having a first ramp plate, a second ramp plate rotatably coupled to the first ramp plate, and a ramp assist assembly. A ramp fold arm is coupled to the ramp assist assembly and to the first ramp plate, wherein the ramp assist assembly directs deployment and retraction of the ramp plate. The link system is connected to the ramp fold arm and to the second ramp plate, wherein the link system includes a slide mechanism coupled to an underside of the first ramp plate. The slide mechanism maintains tension for the link system when deploying and retracting the ramp from the vehicle.
