LENGTH ADJUSTABLE CRUTCH
An adjustable length crutch including at least one support portion to support at least a portion of the weight of a user, a leg portion associated with the at least one support portion and having a foot adapted to abut the ground in use to balance the user and a length adjustment mechanism to adjust the separation between the at least one support portion and the foot to adjust the effective length of the crutch.
Powered chairs for public venues, assemblies for use in powered chairs, and components for use in assemblies for use in powered chairs
Powered chairs, assemblies for use in the powered chairs, and components for use in the assemblies are provided. Electrical systems for use in the powered chairs, and components for use in the electrical systems are provided. Control systems and methods for operating powered chairs are also provided. Any given chair may be locally and/or remotely controlled.
Oral irrigator with variable output fluid characteristics
An oral irrigator including a reservoir, a tip in fluid communication with the reservoir, a pump in fluid communication with the tip and the reservoir, where the motor drives the pump. The oral irrigator also includes a control module electrically coupled to the motor to vary an output of the motor. During a normal mode, the control module drives the motor to output a normal pulse rate, a normal flow rate, and a normal fluid pressure as the fluid exits the tip and during a massage mode, the control module drives the motor to output a massage pulse rate, a massage flow rate, and a massage fluid pressure as the fluid exits the tip. The massage pulse rate is lower than the normal pulse rate, the massage fluid pressure is lower than the normal fluid pressure, and the massage fluid pressure is lower than the normal fluid pressure.
SKIN CLEANSER
A skin cleanser includes a surface, such as a silicone surface, with at least one textured portion for transmitting vibrational tapping to the skin. The skin cleanser includes at least one oscillating motor for generating the tapping motion to the skin. The textured portion in touch-points or a wave that transmit the tapping motion to skin in contact with the to portions. The touch-points may include thicker and thinner formations of the touch-points to provide firmer or softer vibrations to the skin. The touch-points are within about 0.5 to 2.5 mm in diameter. One configuration includes multiple oscillating motors configured to provide different vibration frequencies at around 50-300 Hertz and operable simultaneously.
Cooling device and system for bathing installation pump electrical drive
A passive cooling system for an electric motor drive circuit in a bathing installation, including a section of hollow pipe made of a thermally conductive tubing material, the pipe configured to form part of a water recirculation path of the bathing installation. An adapter structure has a conformal surface configured for attachment to an outer surface of the pipe and a circuit contacting surface for attachment to the motor drive circuit, the adapter structure fabricated of a thermally conductive adapter material. The adapter structure provides a thermal conductive path between the motor drive circuit and the pipe section, configured to pass heat generated by the circuitry to the pipe section and into spa water flowing through the water recirculation path, to cool the circuitry and warm the spa water.
Toe tapping exercise equipment
A toe-tapping exercise machine includes: a foot rest part having a right foot rest adapted to seat a user's right foot thereon and a left foot rest adapted to seat the user's left foot thereon; and an operating part coupled to the foot rest part to allow toe portions of the foot rest part to tap each other, the operating part including: a driving motor for transferring rotating power; a right foot rest operator for receiving the rotating power from the driving motor to operate the right foot rest; and a left foot rest operator for receiving the rotating power from the driving motor to operate the left foot rest, the driving motor being disposed between the right foot rest operator and the left foot rest operator and having rotary shafts extended from both sides thereof.
Skin cleanser
A skin cleanser includes a surface, such as a silicone surface, with at least one textured portion for transmitting vibrational tapping to the skin. The skin cleanser includes at least one oscillating motor for generating the tapping motion to the skin. The textured portion includes touch-points or a wave that transmit the tapping motion to skin in contact with the textured portions.
System and method for body stretching by massage chair
A massage chair includes a frame having a base frame and a backrest frame. The backrest frame pivotally couples to the base frame and operates between at least two positions. The backrest frame has a mechanical rotating joint and guide rail. The guide rail splits at the rotating joint when transitioning positions. An extendable footrest frame is included and pivots relative to the backrest frame. A foot massage airbag system includes a plurality of airbags coupled to the extendable footrest frame. An electronic circuit board has an embedded software program for regulating the position of the backrest frame and the footrest frame. Additionally, the electronic circuit board communicates with a compressor and valve to regulate operation of the airbags. Operation of the airbags induces a stretching effect upon a user as the airbags inflate to compress against the user and the extendable footrest frame extends.
HAND EXOSKELETON DEVICE
The invention relates to a hand exoskeleton device having a modular nature. The device is designed to be wearable, portable and light in weight, and comprises from one to ten modules each having an actuating mechanism such as a linear actuator coupled with an artificial tendon having a flexible cable or shaft encased into a sheath and an elastic, stretchable portion on its distal end. The exoskeleton allows controlling flexion-extension of the fingers, while keeping natural somatosensorial interactions with the environment surrounding the users. The device is useful to e.g. assist and restore hand functions of users with motor disabilities both during activities of daily living and in neurorehabilitative scenarios, as well in other scenarios such as virtual reality.
Assist device, assist method, and recording medium
An assist device includes an upper-body belt attached to the upper body of a user, first and second belts attached to the knees, a first wire coupling the upper-body belt to the first belt, a second wire crossing the first wire, a third wire coupling the upper-body belt to the second belt, a fourth wire crossing the third wire, and a motor coupled to one end of each of the first to fourth wires. When assisting users with walking, tensions equal to a first threshold value or greater are applied to one of the first and second wires and one of the third and fourth wires by the motor at different times. When detecting slacking of the upper-body belt, tensions equal to the first threshold value or greater are simultaneously applied to one of the first and second wires and one of the third and fourth wires by the motor.
