HANDHELD ELECTRO-MECHANICAL WALKING AID
A handheld electro-mechanical walking aid operably configured to detect objects or obstacles in an ambient environment and guide the user away from the detected obstacles and comprising a handle member for grasping, an electronic motor assembly, a cantilevered guide arm member operably coupled to at least one electronic motor and having an arm weight and a concentrated weight of at least approximately 0.2 lbs, at least one of a distance sensor and a camera operably configured to detect objects spatially displaced from a second free end of the arm member, and an electronic controller operably configured to receive detection of the objects spatially displaced from the second free end and cause selective rotation of the arm member in a direction away from the detected objects to generate a deviation angle θ, thereby causing an impetus to the user holding the handle member through a torque generated by the arm weight.
Flexible Misting Umbrella Apparatus
A flexible misting umbrella apparatus for keeping a user cool in hot environments includes a handle having a handle sidewall, a handle top side, and a handle bottom side defining a handle cavity. A water reservoir is coupled within the handle cavity. A pump is coupled within the handle. A trigger is coupled to the handle and is in operational communication with the pump. A flexible tubing extends from the handle top side and is in fluid communication with the pump. The flexible tubing is malleable under the force of a user's hand and otherwise maintains its shape. An umbrella frame is coupled to the flexible tubing. A plurality of nozzles is coupled to the umbrella frame and is in fluid communication with the flexible tubing to release mist when the trigger activates the pump. An umbrella canopy is coupled to the umbrella frame.

VISUALLY IMPAIRED MULTI-FUNCTION HIKING CANE
A multi-function cane for the visually impaired can have an adjustable elongate shaft, a distal tip with a free end for contacting the walking surface, and a compression brake disposed between the shaft and the distal tip. The distal tip can have a distal portion rotatable about the axis of the cane shaft. The compression brake can allow the distal tip of the multi-function cane to rotate so the cane operates as a mobility cane when the brake is disengaged. The application of a compressive longitudinal force can engage the brake to prevent rotation of the distal tip so the cane can be load-bearing to operate as a support cane.
Beach umbrella assembly
Umbrella devices, assemblies, and systems are shown and described. In one embodiment an umbrella assembly includes an umbrella having an aperture along a distal portion of a canopy, and a flagstaff to removably mate within the umbrella.
