A portable modular stretching apparatus has a basic structure of a base, central rod, pulley, cable system, and two legs jointed at the central rod and alongside the base. Attachments are then added for customized stretching. Attachments provide for hamstring, hips, quadriceps, knees, gastrocnemius, ankle, and metatarsal stretching, limberness, and extension, and hyperflexion. A person adds and removes the attachments based on the desired stretch routine, controls the tension, and removes the attachments, and folds the apparatus when complete.

A hippotherapy device includes a saddle for receiving a person thereon, a programmable movement control, and an automatic movement device for automatically moving the saddle according to a movement pattern program. The program specifies a sequence of target values of positions and orientations of the saddle in the locality of the movement device in order to execute the movement pattern. The hippotherapy device further includes a person securing device having a main support on which a body strap is mounted, at least one sensor for detecting at least one physical variable characterizing the body posture of the person on the saddle, and an auxiliary control device configured to compare expected values of the physical variable with current values of the physical variable detected by the sensor, and to trigger an associated safety function, if a deviation of the current values from the expected values exceeds a predetermined tolerance threshold.

A reconfigurable water distribution system for a walk-in tub bathing installation including two or more types of discharge ports for discharging water. The system includes a single motorized pump having an input connected to a suction port of the bathing installation, and an output port delivering pressurized water. A pipe system selectively connects the pump to the two or more types of discharge ports to selectively direct the pressurized water to the different ones of the types of discharge ports. The system selectively enables the bathing installation to perform a plurality of different functions using a single pump.

A wheelchair includes massaging units integral with both the seat and the backrest. A first massaging unit includes a plurality of vibrating members positioned about the periphery of the backrest that can be activated simultaneously, sequentially, individually or in a random pattern to knead the user's back, shoulders and neck. A lifting mechanism has a base to which a pivot of a parallelogram structure. A spring extends from a first link of the parallelogram to an adjustable termination point on a second link of the parallelogram to form a lifting triangle. The spring termination point is displaced from a main pivot of the parallelogram to create an adjustable “lever arm” to vary the lifting force. A lifting power adjustment mechanism adjusts the position of the spring termination point. An extension is in fixed relation to one of the parallelogram links and maintains its angle with respect to the horizontal when angles of the parallelogram are varied upon raising or lowering the lifting mechanism between a sitting mode and a standing mode. The extension serves as a base for a rear seat section. A front seat section is pivotally attached to the rear seat section allowing it to swing downward upon elevation of the lifting mechanism.
