An apparatus for promoting vascular circulation, including a garment configured to at least partially surround an anatomical structure of a patient. A compression element is coupled to the garment and configured to compress at least a portion of the anatomical structure when the compression element is actuated. A controller is configured to selectively actuate the compression element over a plurality of cycles. Each cycle has an actuated time during which the compression element is arranged to exert a first pressure and an unactuated time during which the compression element is arranged to exert a second pressure different than the first pressure, and the controller is configured to use a random value in determining the deflated time of one or more of the cycles.

Aspects of the invention include a computer-implemented method requiring loading, via a processor, a meridian tool into an electrical device having an input screen. The method causes, via the processor, the meridian tool to display a human body image on the input screen. The method receives, via the processor, input signals from the input screen to indicate pain points on the human body image and displays, via the processor, a pain level input display on the input screen. The method receives, via the processor, pain level input from the pain level input display screen and causes, via the processor, the electrical device to provide controlling electrical pulses to a meridian acupuncture sleeve, wherein the controlling electrical pulses controls the application of current being applied to electrical pads within the meridian acupuncture sleeve to provide pain relief for the pain points on the human body.

A device including a semi-rigid shell forming an external surface with at least part of the shell adapted to contact tissue of a body cavity. The shell includes a treatment band formed around the shell, a first portion forming a rounded end of the device that is distal to the treatment band, and a second portion formed around the circumference of the shell and located proximal to the treatment band. The device further includes a vibration mechanism configured to case the shell to vibrate, a sensor configured to provide sensor data upon contact with the tissue, and a processor configured to receive the sensor data and to use the sensor data to produce parameters of the tissue.

Disclosed herein are systems for applying pneumatic compression to a portion of a body comprising: a wrap comprising at least two air bladders; and a control unit. The control unit is configured to control the air pressure in the at least two air bladders. The control unit includes an electro-mechanically autonomous system configured to achieve synchronization between the wrap and one or more additional wraps.

An electromechanical device for male sexual stimulation that uses a reciprocal linear motion similar to sexual intercourse, and wherein the penis remains fully inserted during use. The reciprocal linear motion is generated by a small motor which drives a screw and nut mechanism, to which a bracket and gripper is attached. Inserted into the gripper is a flexible sleeve. A penis may be inserted into the device inside the flexible sleeve. The movement of the gripper and sleeve against the penis provides pressure and motion against the penis inside the sleeve in a manner similar to sexual intercourse. The speed, pattern, and location of the motion can be controlled by the user through controls on the outside of the device.

An image processing device includes an input/output interface, and at least one processor. A portable cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) system includes a first module hub housing, an inflation actuated soft gripper configured to receive an inflation gas, and in response, to change form to a deployed grip state that accommodates and grips a human torso. Features of the portable CPR system include modularity for in-the-field reconfigurability, in which a second module hub housing attaches to the first module hub housing, carrying a CPR pressure applicator configured to receive an actuator power and a CPR control signal causing, concurrent with the deployed grip state, cyclic extension and retraction of the CPR pressure applicator along an axis aligned with a sternum of the human torso.

A haptic system for providing a gait cadence to a subject comprising a portable telecommunication device with a control unit and a wireless transmission means; a vibrotactile device configured to be tightly worn on a portion of the subject's body, including at least one motor configured to generate vibrations that can be perceived by the subject and an actuation unit configured to actuate the motor. The actuation unit is configured to receive wireless signals from the wireless transmission means of the portable telecommunication device and to cause the motor to produce vibrations responsive to the wireless signals. A method for managing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) treatment to a person in need of emergency assistance includes monitoring, with an electronic medical device, a parameter that indicates a quality level of a CPR component being provided to the person by a user; determining, with the electronic medical device, that the parameter indicates that the quality level of CPR being provided is inadequate; and providing, to one or more rescuers of the person, an audible, visual, or tactile indication that a different person should perform the CPR component.
