Systems and methods for coordinating musculoskeletal and cardiovascular or cerebrovascular hemodynamics
Described herein are methods for determining a target musculoskeletal activity cycle (MSKC) to cardiac cycle (CC) timing relationship. The method may include detecting a signal responsive to a cyclically-varying arterial blood flow at a location on a head of a user; providing a recurrent prompt at a frequency of the heart pump cycle using the signal, such that the signal correlates with a magnitude of blood flow adjacent to the location, and the recurrent prompt is provided to guide the user to time performance of a component of a rhythmic musculoskeletal activity with the recurrent prompt; and guiding the user to adjust a timing of the component of the rhythmic musculoskeletal activity to substantially maximize a magnitude of the signal. In some embodiments, the method further includes generating the recurrent prompt by amplifying the sound generated by the blood flow in or in proximity to an ear of the user.
System and method for treating skin and underlying tissues for improved health, function and/or appearance
Systems and methods for treating facial soft tissues of a patient in a healthcare or cosmetic treatment environment such as, for example, a spa, clinic, or a medical practitioner's office are presented herein. The facial treatment system includes a facial stimulator instrument and/or an acoustic oscillator to deliver therapeutic stimulation to the facial tissues of a patient including percussive massage, electrical stimulation, and acoustic stimulation. A facial treatment application executing on a processor of a computing device identifies a treatment protocol and operates the facial stimulator instrument and/or acoustic oscillator to implement the facial tissue treatment.
MEDICAL RADAR SYSTEM FOR GUIDING CARDIAC RESUSCITATION
Medical radar devices, including ultra-wideband (UWB) devices, for use in assisting and/or guiding cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by indicating one or more of: compression depth, compression frequency, and a return to spontaneous circulation. The devices and methods described herein may use reflected energy applied to a patient's chest to determine cardiac motion and/or chest compression and provide feedback to the person applying the CPR. In some variations the device is incorporated as a part of another resuscitation device, such as a defibrillator or automatic compression device.
INTELLIGENT INTRAOCULAR AND EXTRAOCULAR MUSCLE SENSITIVE EXERCISE TRAINING INSTRUMENT AND TRAINING METHOD
An intelligent intraocular and extraocular muscle sensitivity exercise training instrument which is disposed with an ocular head (1) consisting of a front shell (11), a middle shell (12) and a back shell (13), and a control device (2) electrically connected to the ocular head (1), as well as an intraocular muscle exercise bar (3) electrically connected to the control device (2). The beneficial effects are as below: in addition to supplementing the field of portable intraocular and extraocular muscle training instruments, it is also convenient for students to put it in their school bags for use at any time thanks to its intelligent operations and foldable structure, it overcomes the shortcomings of the above-mentioned pure extraocular and intraocular muscle sensitivity training instruments. Therefore, it is bound to have a profound effect on myopia control, dyslexia remediation, eye healthcare, and memory improvement among teenagers.
Device for applying stimulation to the foot or feet of a person
A device for stimulating the Meissner's Corpuscles along the front plantar portion of the foot or feet of a person is provided. The device has a platform disposed upon motion guides for movement up and down with respect to a base. The platform has a shaped surface for ease of placement of at least the front plantar portion of at least one foot of a person seated in front of the device in which the back or heel portion of the foot is disposed away from the device. One or more inertial actuators are attached to the platform underneath its surface. A controller controls operation of the actuator(s), via signals to a driver, to move the platform with respect to the base in a sinusoidally varying motion at a user selectable stimulation level. The stimulation level may be set wirelessly via an external device, or by manually tilting the device.
Dynamic sauna
Systems and methods are provided for controlling infrared radiation (IR) sources of a sauna including tuning IR wavelength-ranges and radiated power-levels of IR sources, and directing IR to locations on a user's body. In one illustrative embodiment, a sauna may be provided having adjustable heat sources to emit IR at any wavelength resulting in a desirable radiation treatment for the sauna user. In another illustrative embodiment, a method is provided for tuning IR sources in a sauna.
Nasal stimulation devices and methods
Described here are devices, systems, and methods for treating one or more conditions (such as dry eye) or improving ocular health by providing stimulation to nasal or sinus tissue. Generally, the devices may be handheld or implantable. In some variations, the handheld devices may have a stimulator body and a stimulator probe having one or more nasal insertion prongs. When the devices and systems are used to treat dry eye, nasal or sinus tissue may be stimulated to increase tear production, reduce the symptoms of dry eye, and/or improve ocular surface health.
System and method for dynamic device discovery and address assignment
A pool or spa system includes networked pool or spa devices that can be dynamically configured with network address by a controller. The controller can transmit a device discovery request on a network and can receive a discovery response from pool or spa devices that require a network address. The system determines and assigns the network addresses for the pool or spa devices based on unique device identifiers associated with the responding pool or spa devices. The network addresses assigned to the pool or spa device are transmitted to the pool or spa device to be used by the pool or spa devices to communicate with the controller over the network. The system can be used to discover and assign addresses to various types of pool or spa devices, such as pumps, underwater lights, chlorinators, water feature controllers, remote controllers, and/or other types of devices.
Adjustable bed position control
The present invention provides an adjustable bed handheld remote control that may include a handheld housing, a touch sensor on a front face of the handheld housing, a transmitter and the like. The touch sensor may be presented in a slider form and may be adapted to facilitate a user in adjusting a frame position of an adjustable bed. The transmitter may be electrically coupled to a processor and may receive input from the touch sensor, for communication control signals to the adjustable bed in accordance with the input received from the touch sensor.
Apparatus for reducing symptoms of neurodegenerative diseases
Method and apparatus for improving mobility in patients affected by a neurodegenerative disease, through controlled and localized mechanical stimulation of the foot, at the tip of the big toe and the lower big toe metatarsal joint. Described herein is an apparatus comprising stimulators for the right and left foot and it attains such mechanical stimulation according to predetermined intensity parameters, stimulation sequence, duration and cyclical repetition. Mobility improvement was observed in particular in patients affected by Parkinson's disease.
