Integrated injectable drug packaging and delivery system and methods of use
An injection apparatus and related methods. The injection apparatus includes a housing with a proximate end and a distal end. The housing further defines a fluid pathway. A defeatable seal is fixedly positioned within the fluid pathway to separate an internal volume of the housing into a first compartment and a second compartment downstream from the first compartment. The defeatable seal is configured to fail in response to an increase in fluid pressure within the first compartment, allowing a fluid in the first compartment to pass through the second compartment and through the fluid outlet.
Medical Device, Medical Device Assembly Including the Same, and Method of Reconstitution of a Pharmaceutical Composition
A medical device is configured to be connectable with a vial. The medical device includes a tubular body and an adapter. The tubular body defines a container for containing a composition, and has a spike located at a distal end thereof. The spike has at least one through hole in fluid communication with the container. The adapter is formed with or coupled to the body, and is located at or about the spike.
Vial adaptor assembly for a closed fluid transfer system
A vial adaptor assembly, suitable for use with a vial containing a medicament and a syringe adaptor, which is in turn connectable to a syringe having a piston adapted for selectable displacement in a first direction for drawing fluid into the syringe and in a second direction for expelling fluid from the syringe, the vial adaptor assembly including: a vial connector for non-removable connection with the vial containing a medicament; a syringe adaptor connector for connection with the syringe adaptor; a pressure equalization chamber having a variable volume, which is sealed from the outside environment during use; a liquid pathway communicating between an interior of the vial containing the medicament and an interior of the syringe when the syringe adaptor is connected to the syringe adaptor connector and the syringe is connected to the syringe adaptor and the vial connector is connected to the vial containing the medicament; and a venting pathway communicating between the interior of the vial containing the medicament and an interior of the pressure equalization chamber, when the vial connector is connected to the vial containing the medicament, wherein the pressure equalization chamber and the venting pathway are mutually configured such that, when the syringe adaptor is connected to the syringe adaptor connector and the syringe is connected to the syringe adaptor and the vial connector is connected to the vial containing the medicament, substantially all of any of the medicament that becomes located within the pressure equalization chamber is removed therefrom via the venting pathway and returned to the interior of the vial by displacement of the piston of the syringe in the first direction.
VIAL ADAPTER FOR DRAWING DRUGS FROM A VIAL
A vial adapter for reconstituting a drug and drawing a drug from a vial. The vial adapter includes a passageway for passage of a diluent into the vial to mix with and reconstitute the drug and a chamber containing the reconstituted drug drawn from the vial. A vacuum is applied through the adapter to draw the reconstituted drug from the vial. The reconstituted drug can be accessed in one or two ways, either via a luer locked syringe or via a needled syringe.
Aseptic filling apparatus and method
An apparatus and method for aseptically filling a container utilizing an adaptor formed of severable and heat-sealable material connected to a tube and container. The adaptor includes a membrane which is unsealed to allow filling by a known filling machine. Once the adaptor tube and container is formed as a unit, it is sterilized. The adaptor is then severed and sealed, creating a usable aseptic liquid product.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING MIXTURES
A system is disclosed for producing a mixture to deliver to a treatment site. The system can include a connector with a connector vent so that air in the connector is expellable therethrough. A multi-lumen chamber can be connected to a proximal end of the connector and include a first lumen aligned and adjacent a second lumen. The first lumen can be configured to include a first constituent in a proximal portion of the first lumen, a second constituent in a distal portion of the first lumen, and a first plunger internally positioned within the first lumen to distally move the first constituent into the distal portion to mix with the second constituent in a first state to form a first mixture. The second lumen is configured to include a third constituent and a second plunger rod internally positioned within the second to distally move the third constituent.
Feeding system for treating liquid medical waste
The present disclosure discloses a feeding system for treating liquid medical waste. The feeding system comprises a receiving container for storing liquid medical waste and a feeding container for accommodating a coagulant. The feeding container comprises an outlet and a seal for closing the outlet, and the receiving container comprises a feeding connector with a feeding channel. The feeding container and the receiving container are provided with a guide mechanism comprising guide lugs and guide slots, and the feeding connector is provided with a plurality of splitting portions arranged along the circumferential direction of the feeding channel and spaced apart from each other by a certain distance. The guide mechanism allows the operation of rotating the feeding container by a predetermined angle relative to the receiving container, and this operation causes the splitting portions to cut the seal along the circumference of the feeding channel to destruct the seal, thereby causing the coagulant accommodated in the feeding container flows into the receiving container through the outlet. The present disclosure provides a safe and convenient operation manner for adding a coagulant into a storage container of liquid medical waste.
VIAL ADAPTOR ASSEMBLY FOR A CLOSED FLUID TRANSFER SYSTEM
A vial adaptor assembly, suitable for use with a vial containing a medicament and a syringe adaptor, which is in turn connectable to a syringe having a piston adapted for selectable displacement in a first direction for drawing fluid into the syringe and in a second direction for expelling fluid from the syringe, the vial adaptor assembly including: a vial connector for non-removable connection with the vial containing a medicament: a syringe adaptor connector for connection with the syringe adaptor; a pressure equalization chamber having a variable volume, which is scaled from the outside environment during use; a liquid pathway communicating between an interior of the vial containing the medicament and an interior of the syringe when the syringe adaptor is connected to the syringe adaptor connector and the syringe is connected to the syringe adaptor and the vial connector is connected to the vial containing the medicament; and a venting pathway communicating between the interior of the vial containing the medicament and an interior of the pressure equalization chamber, when the vial connector is connected to the vial containing the medicament, wherein the pressure equalization chamber and the venting pathway are mutually configured such that, when the syringe adaptor is connected to the syringe adaptor connector and the syringe is connected to the syringe adaptor and the vial connector is connected to the vial containing the medicament, substantially all of any of the medicament that becomes located within the pressure equalization chamber is removed therefrom via the venting pathway and returned to the interior of the vial by displacement of the piston of the syringe in the first direction.
