CONTAINER FOR DISPENSING MEDICATION
A medication container system, device, and related methods are disclosed for time controlled and secure dispensing of medicine, such as pills, to a patient. The disclosed systems, devices and methods include a plurality of vertically stack of disks which engage adjacent disks in a rotational manner and are housed within a secure container. The disks are configured so that as they rotate they release the doses (e.g. pills) that they hold to a release portion of the device. The disclosed systems, devices and methods provide a number of advantages over previously-known or available devices and methods.
LOCKING MEDICATION CONTAINERS AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
The present discloser provides methods and systems related to a medication container that may be locked using a locking mechanism. In one exemplary method, a request from a user may be received by a medication provider for a medication. The medication may be placed in a medication container with a locking mechanism that is operable to lock and unlock the medication container. The medication container may be locked using the locking mechanism. The locked medication container with the medication within may be provided to the user. Subsequent to providing the locked medication container to the user, a request may be received from the user to access the medication in the medication container. A credential may be sent to the user that is usable, via the locking mechanism, to unlock the medication container. The user may then input the credential into the locking mechanism to unlock the medication container and access the medication therein.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MEDICATION COMPLIANCE AND DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION
A medication compliance and drug abuse prevention device for use as a cap with conventional medication container. The neck of the cap is adapted for mating with the neck of any conventional medication container. The mating of the cap neck with the container neck forms a seal therebetween and the seal can be maintained in a locked or unlocked state as per requirement. The cap has a weighment module configured to measure a mass of a medicinal substance contained inside the container. A control module determines a difference in the mass of the medicinal substance measured before and after the unlocked state and initiate one or more alert actions if the difference in mass of the medicinal substance is found to be less than or more than a prescribed mass of medicinal substance.
System and method for distributed medication management
A method including authorizing a user to access a dispensing unit upon receipt of a medication request, is provided. The dispensing unit comprises a storage location with one or more door enclosure storing at least one container. The method also includes providing a visual indicator to the user for a selected container in the storage location with one or more door enclosure, the selected container comprising a medication associated with the medication request, and unlocking the selected container for the user by wirelessly actuating a latch for a lid in the selected container from a mat that is communicatively coupled with the dispensing unit. The method also includes locking the selected container when the user verifies a transaction comprising the medication request, and updating a record and a medication inventory in a remote server based on the transaction. A storage location with one or more door enclosure and a container used in the above method are also provided.
SYSTEM AND MEDICATION BOX FOR IMPROVING MEDICATION ADHERENCE
A medication adherence system and corresponding medication box for improving medication adherence. The system includes the medication box, which is transparent and has a machine-readable marker, such as a QR code, on or beneath the floor thereof. The marker is capable of being scanned and read through the transparent bottoms of individual chambers. Data embedded in the marker includes, but is not limited to, the user's medication plan, the date and time when the medication is to be ingested, and instructions for recording the date and time when the marker is scanned and read. The underlying software program/application processes this information and provides an indication as to the user's compliance with the medication plan.
Gamification Systems and Methods for Improved Healthcare Outcomes
A gamified pharmaceutical packaging, dispensing system, and methodology is disclosed. The innovative gamified smart packaging system and methodology provides a variety of incentives to patients and relevant teams to take their medications, on time, and at the correct dosage. The system comprises monitored pharmaceutical dispensing devices that communicate with a plurality of compute devices, or smartphones. Each time the patient dispenses the medicine from the dispensing device, a signal is transmitted to the compute device. Upon receiving the signal, the compute device records the dispensing event, calculates a specific “score” for that event, and reports the patient's cumulative “score” of successfully dispensing the medicine. If a dispensing event signal is not received in a timely fashion, the system sends a prompt to the patient to take their medication. Accumulating points by properly taking the prescribed medication allows the patient and/or team to be eligible to receive various benefits.
STORAGE AND DISPENSING DEVICES FOR ADMINISTRATION OF ORAL TRANSMUCOSAL DOSAGE FORMS
Dispensing devices and systems for oral transmucosal administration of small volume drug dosage forms to the oral mucosa are provided. The dispensing device may be a single dose applicator (SDA), or an electromechanical device comprising a means for patient identification such as a wrist worn RFID tag and annular bidirectional antenna together with a lock-out feature.
PRESCRIPTION MEDICINE PACKAGING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USING SAME TO PROVIDE RANGE OF COMPLIANCE OPTIONS
A prescription medicine packaging system includes cells. Each cell stores prescription medicine. Each cell has an opening adapted for access by a user. A cap is aligned over and seals each opening. Each cap includes a first part and a second part that are independent of one another and uniquely identifiable by features thereof. Each of the caps is breached via one of removal and destruction of one of its first part and second part.
Medication intelligent device
A medical intelligent device is for use with a medical jar. The medical jar defines an accommodating space for containing at least one medicine. The medication intelligent device includes a cover and an auxiliary medicine deliver. The cover is detachably mounted on the medical jar. The auxiliary medicine deliver is disposed on the cover and includes a main control chip and a medicine delivery gate electrically connected to the main control chip. The main control chip is used to move the gate between a closed position and an opened position relative to the cover. In the closed position, the medicine delivery gate closes the accommodating space. In the opened position, the medicine delivery gate opens the accommodating space.
SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND APPARATUSES FOR SECURELY DISPENSING ONE OR MORE PRESCRIBED SUBSTANCES TO A SECURELY IDENTIFIED INTENDED USER
Systems, methods, and apparatuses for securely dispensing one or more prescribed substances at a given time and/or date are disclosed herein. In certain embodiments, a pill dispensing device may include a generally tamper-proof portable housing. A replaceable cartridge may be configured to be removably disposed within the portable housing. The replaceable cartridge also may be generally tamper-proof. The portable housing and/or the replaceable cartridge may be operable to dispense a predefined amount of a prescribed substance at a given time and/or date.
