MONITOR DEVICE FOR REAL TIME COMPLIANCE INSTRUCTIONS AND USER FEEDBACK AND CLINICIAN COMMUNICATION

A self-administered medicament delivery device system that desirably alert a clinician to improper and/or suboptimal patient use or compliance, and instructs and affirms the user on proper use in realtime. The invention improves the state of the art by proactively teaching and aiding users on proper techniques so the user obtains the most benefit from their device. By providing training, feedback, and reporting to both the user and the clinician, the invention allows users to make corrections immediately and allows clinicians to more accurately assess if medicine or technique is the problem in a patient whose condition is not remediated by a treatment regimen.

An article dispensing apparatus includes a carousel and an upper casing with a dispensing face including a dispensing orifice through which the articles are dispensed. The carousel includes plural holding sections for holding the articles to be dispensed and is rotationally movable. A controller controls application of a force to cause the carousel to rotate relative to the dispensing face when an instruction to dispense an article is received. When the carousel is moved so that one of its holding sections having an article therein is aligned with the dispensing orifice, the article is allowed to be dispensed therethrough. A locking mechanism selectively engages the carousel to prevent any relative movement of the carousel when the article dispensing unit is not mounted on the main housing and disengages from the carousel to allow intended relative movement when the article dispensing unit is mounted on the main housing.

An activity monitor is associated with a container, such as a medication bottle, and includes one or more detectors configured to detect activity associated with the bottle, such as movement, opening and/or closing, and changes in volume and/or mass. The activity monitor may include alerting devices and be programmed with scheduling information. The activity monitor may also, or instead, be part of a system and communicate with one or more remote devices such as a user device or monitoring system, such as to receive programming information from those devices or to output activity information to those devices.

Smart bottle system and methods thereof

This invention relates to smart bottle system that informs the user through a display, the time and date that the contents are to be taken. More specifically, the smart bottle system provides an information to the user/patient, the time to take medication and inform the caregiver, physician, pharmacy personnel, or patient/users of missed doses, the profile, and/or the health condition of the patient/user. The bottle system may track the doses remaining in the bottle, and inform the caregiver or patient/user, or pharmacy personnel the time to get a refill of the medication. The system can able to compute the profile and/or health condition of the users, based on the medication intake, and/or missed, or users image, and can communicate with the persons located remotely by sending/receiving information.
