Local Client Database for Remote Support
A computerized method and system to communicate information between a supported client computer and a remote support organization have been described. At the supported client computer, status information, generated by one or more client applications when executing on the supported client computer, may be retrieved. The status information may be stored in a client database on the supported client computer. A first client database definition for a client data item may be mapped to a first tag, the first client database definition may be associated with the client database and the client data item may include the status information. A client message document including the first tag may be communicated to a support server of the remote support organization. The status information may be stored in, and retrieved from, the client database via a functional abstraction layer comprising one or more customized application program interfaces (API).
Individual XML message processing platform
A communications platform (Centerpost) is disclosed containing a message processing platform along with an XML message format (SmartMessage) which provides for the reception, organization, summarization, filing, storage, synthesis, routing, formatting, and intelligent processing of XML-based electronic messages and SMTP electronic mail from corporations and other senders to fully integrate individuals' existing e-mail boxes, cellular telephones, paging equipment, facsimile machines, wireless and wired telephones, and other devices. The Centerpost platform utilizes a nickname-based routing to enable device specific sending without knowledge of the specific device address. The Centerpost platform provides sender-defined information folios, which enable synthesized filing, viewing and storage of all received SmartMessages, and the platform allows semi-private access control for the user, which allows access by others.
Systems and methods for manipulating and managing computer archive files
A computer program for managing and manipulating archive zip files of a computer. The program includes a system and method for opening, creating, and modifying, and extracting zip archive files. The program is fully integrated into Microsoft Windows Explorer and is accessed via Explorer menus, toolbars, and/or drag and drop operations. An important feature of the program is the archive manager which may be used to open a zip file, create a new zip file, extract zip files, modify zip files, etc. The program is integrated into Microsoft Windows Explorer using the shell name space extension application program interface developed by Microsoft.
Creating recurring appointments
A user creates appointments by selecting dates on a displayed calendar. A pattern may be automatically detected in response to the user selecting calendar dates on the calendar. For example, a pattern may automatically be detected when a user selects two Mondays in a row when selecting appointment dates. In response to automatically detecting a pattern, a list of recurring appointments is automatically created. The automatically created appointments may be shown on the calendar. The automatically created appointments may also be shown in a list of an appointment user interface. A user may interact with the appointments in the appointment user interface. For example, a user may select one of the displayed appointments from the list and change appointment information related to the selected appointment. A start date and an end date may also be specified using the appointment user interface.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR NON-PROGRAMMERS TO DYNAMICALLY MANAGE MULTIPLE SETS OF XML DOCUMENT DATA
A system and method for dynamically retrieving, manipulating, updating, creating, and displaying data from sources of Extensible. Markup Language (XML) documents. The program memory comprises system-user entered data definitions and business rules. The system imports XML document data into the system data definitions, processes the data using the business rules definitions and exports XML documents. The system can automatically create XML document formats from its data definitions and can automatically create its data definitions from XML document formats. The system-user can also define the mapping between XML document formats and the system data definitions. The system data definition is the combination of a Relational data model, an Object data model, and an XML data model.
AUTOMATICALLY CREATING AN EVENT STAMP
A method and system is disclosed in which information related to an orientation or motion pattern of a mobile device system is detected. A determination is made whether the orientation information detected corresponds to a predetermined motion pattern or orientation for collecting event stamp information. The event stamp information may include a location and/or other event information. If the detected orientation and/or motion patterns is detected, the event stamp information is automatically collected in response to the determination, and the event stamp information is is at least temporarily stored.
Interface and method for displaying a collection of interrelated data
An interface is provided for permitting a user to explore a collection of data. The data collection provides nodes as structural elements, and references which are assigned to the nodes and hold identifiers of other nodes. Multiple references can be assigned to each node, thus guiding a user of the system to multiple other nodes, and multiple references can hold the same address, so that multiple nodes can have references pointing to the same node. The interface allows visualizing the network created by the interconnection of the nodes on a display region. The interface also allows the user to intuitively navigate along the references in both directions of the references, so that the user can explore which nodes are referenced by a certain node, and also by which nodes a certain node is referenced. Electronic documents can be assigned to each node, and the interface allows these documents to be displayed either directly in a reserved display region of the interface, or by launching a matching application on the user's computer.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR DYNAMICALLY REARRANGING SEARCH RESULTS INTO HIERARCHICALLY ORGANIZED CONCEPT CLUSTERS
Methods of and systems for dynamically rearranging search results into hierarchically organized concept clusters are provided. A method of searching for and presenting content items as an arrangement of conceptual clusters to facilitate further search and navigation on a display-constrained device includes providing a set of content items and receiving incremental input to incrementally identify search terms for content items. Content items are selected and grouped into sets based on how the incremental input matches various metadata associated with the content items. The selected content items are grouped into explicit conceptual clusters and user-implied conceptual clusters based on metadata in common to the selected content items. The clustered content items are presented according to the conceptual clusters into which they are grouped.
Collaborative due diligence review system
A system for providing a virtual data room for conducting due diligence on a plurality of documents that are remotely located and accessible over a computer network by a plurality of users using client computer systems. Documents are retrieved from the remote system and presented to a user on their local computing system for review and conducting due diligence tasks thereon. Based on the interaction the user has with the displayed document, due diligence status values that are associated with the display document are updated and stored with the virtual data room system. A display request is received and based on the request a display characteristic is calculated for a folder that includes a set of documents. The display characteristic is determined based on the due diligence status values of all of the documents within the folder.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR THE SYNCHRONIZATION OF A FILE IN A CACHE
The invention provides a system and method for file synchronization. One embodiment of the system of this invention includes a software program stored on a computer readable medium. The software program can be executed by a computer processor to receive a file from a server; store the file as a cached file in a cache; determine if the cached file has been modified; and if the cached file has been modified, communicate the cached file directly to the database.
