SAFE MOTION PLANNING FOR MACHINERY OPERATION
20210260770 · 2021-08-26 ·

Systems and methods monitor a workspace for safety purposes using sensors distributed about the workspace. The sensors are registered with respect to each other, and this registration is monitored over time. Occluded space as well as occupied space is identified, and this mapping is frequently updated. Based on the mapping, a constrained motion plan of machinery can be generated to ensure safety.

Handling Gait Disturbances with Asynchronous Timing

An example method may include i) detecting a disturbance to a gait of a robot, where the gait includes a swing state and a step down state, the swing state including a target swing trajectory for a foot of the robot, and where the target swing trajectory includes a beginning and an end; and ii) based on the detected disturbance, causing the foot of the robot to enter the step down state before the foot reaches the end of the target swing trajectory.

Sterile adapters with a tool seat for use in a robotic surgical system

Generally, a sterile adapter for use in robotic surgery may include a frame configured to be interposed between a tool driver and a surgical tool, a plate assembly coupled to the frame, and at least one rotatable coupler supported by the plate assembly and configured to communicate torque from an output drive of the tool driver to an input drive of the surgical tool.

Robot and method for controlling the same

A robot and a method for controlling the robot are provided, each of which prevents the robot from hitting an obstacle when autonomous movement of the robot is controlled using an OSS. The method for controlling a robot including a plurality of rangefinder sensors, the robot being configured to autonomously move based on a map created using one or more measurement data portions of the plurality of rangefinder sensors. The method includes: deleting some of the one or more measurement data portions of the plurality of rangefinder sensors; integrating the one or more measurement data portions remaining after the deleting into an integrated measurement data portion; and determining the integrated measurement data portion to be a measurement data portion of one or more virtual rangefinder sensors which are fewer in number than the number of the plurality of rangefinder sensors.

Shear pin for robot calibration

A shear pin for calibrating an industrial robot, the shear pin including an elongated body including a weakening defining a break location in case of overload. The shear pin is configured to be mounted to a calibration pin holder on the robot. A maximum force that the calibration pin can exert on the robot during calibration can be easily limited by dimensioning the weakening appropriately.

DETECTING AND CLASSIFYING WORKSPACE REGIONS FOR SAFETY MONITORING

Systems and methods monitor a workspace for safety purposes using sensors distributed about the workspace. The sensors are registered with respect to each other, and this registration is monitored over time. Occluded space as well as occupied space is identified, and this mapping is frequently updated.

DYNAMICALLY DETERMINING WORKSPACE SAFE ZONES WITH SPEED AND SEPARATION MONITORING

Systems and methods for determining safe zones in a workspace calculate safe actions in real time based on all sensed relevant objects and on the current state of the machinery (e.g., a robot) in the workspace. Various embodiments forecast, in real time, both the motion of the machinery and the possible motion of a human within the space, and continuously update the forecast as the machinery operates and humans move in the workspace.

Sterile adapters with a shifting plate for use in a robotic surgical system

Generally, a sterile adapter for use in robotic surgery may include a frame configured to be interposed between a tool driver and a surgical tool, a plate assembly coupled to the frame, and at least one rotatable coupler supported by the plate assembly and configured to communicate torque from an output drive of the tool driver to an input drive of the surgical tool.

Teaching method for teaching operations to a plurality of robots and teaching system used therefor

A teaching system, includes a computer configured to calculate trajectories of a plurality of robots disposed so as to have a common working area on a virtual space and a display unit. The computer calculates a robot passing area which is a set of trajectories drawn by a point constituting each robot when a driving unit of each robot is operated based on a teaching value on the virtual space for each robot. The computer detects whether the robot passing areas of the robots cross with each other. The computer sets a constraint condition by which none of the plurality of robots is permitted to pass through at least to a partial space within a crossing area in a case where the computer detects that the robot passing areas cross with each other.

MITIGATING INTERFERENCE BETWEEN WIRELESSLY CONTROLLED MACHINES USING RF SHIELDING

Embodiments herein describe a system that includes a first Faraday cage defining a first aperture through which a first conveyor extends, a first wirelessly controlled machine disposed in the first Faraday cage, where the first wirelessly controlled machine is configured to transmit control signals using a first frequency range, a second Faraday cage defining a second aperture through which a second conveyor extends, and a second wirelessly controlled machine disposed in the second Faraday cage where the first wirelessly controlled machine is configured to transmit control signals using the first frequency range. Further, a portion of at least one of the first Faraday cage and the second Faraday cage is disposed between the first and second apertures.
