A cord management kit to help manage cords. The cord management kit includes one or more base members removably affixed to a planar member designed to retain one or more base members. Each base member includes a lower side and an upper side, wherein the lower side of the base member includes a fastener, such as adhesive, designed to removably secure the base member to a surface. A clip is on the upper side of each base member, wherein the clip includes a pair of opposing arms composed of a padded material that form a gap, wherein the gap is designed to receive a cord therethrough. The arms are biased toward one another such that pressure is exerted against opposing sides of the cord received through the gap.

An apparatus for attaching a member to a honeycomb core-stiffened structure includes a body and one or more elements extending from the body configured to be adhesively bonded to one or more walls of a honeycomb core of the honeycomb core-stiffened structure. The force focused fastening system includes a force focused fastening member including an extensible region and an end region. The end region includes a fastener element and the extensible region includes a high modulus region aligned relative to a center portion of the fastener element. During fastening, the force focused fastening member directs forces toward the center portion of the fastener element, away from end portions, minimizing distortion of the fastener element.

An adhesive-bonded attachment device includes a mounting base including a mounting surface, a structural adhesive disposed on the mounting surface, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive disposed on the mounting surface bordering the structural adhesive, wherein the structural adhesive and the pressure-sensitive adhesive define a bonding surface configured to be bonded to a contact surface of a structure, and an attachment feature disposed on said mounting base.

A tether fastening device for an automobile body structure includes a fastener clip, at least one tether strap, a tether clip bracket, a clip strap coupler, and a bracket strap coupler. The clip strap coupler operably couples to a slot in the automobile chassis. The tether clip bracket attaches to the fastener clip when in an attached position. The bracket strap coupler is attached to the body panel. The tether strap allows for controlled detachment between the clip strap coupler and the bracket strap coupler. The strap may include a mesh to absorb the deployment energy and decelerate the body panel in a controlled manner. In the event of an airbag activation, the tether clip bracket and the fastener clip initially accelerate and then decelerate from each other. The pair of tether straps control the deceleration and separation distance of the clip strap coupler and bracket strap coupler.

A selective adhesive mechanism comprises an engineered surface structure or substrate and a compliant member. The compliant member is able to be a dry and non-tacky substance. The compliant member is selectively adhesive to the engineered surface when the compliant member is in contact with the engineered surface. The compliant member shows adhesion to the engineered surface when the compliant member is within a pre-selected range of hardness. In some embodiments, the compliant member comprises a polymeric member, a thermoplastic elastomer, silicone, polyurethane, or a combination thereof.
