Keratin protein cosmetic compositions are provided that include at least one keratin protein derived from human hair and a base cosmetic solution. Methods of treatment are also provided.

The composition is homogeneously mixed into a skin and hair product which may be applied to the hair or skin using a mister or aerosol delivery system or as a serum.

A method to produce an effective cool tone with blonde hair color, while performing the hair dyeing process. To that end, the desired blonde hair color may be achieved by incorporating pigmented capsules and/or any pigmentation agent into the hair bleach mixture and/or the hair peroxide mixture. The pigmentation agent provides a cool tone effect while simultaneously removing unwanted yellow and orange undertones from hair during the hair bleaching process. Accordingly, the method includes producing pigmented hair bleach mixture and pigmented hair peroxide mixtures for performing the hair lightening process. Methods, systems, and devices for integrated photo-responsive contouring treatment are described. Methods include identifying a region of skin corresponding to a contouring treatment of the skin. The region of skin may be provided with a photo-responsive material overlying a portion of the region of the skin. Methods may include identifying one or more treatment regions overlapping the photo-responsive material. The treatment regions may be identified at least in part to apply the contouring treatment. Methods may include determining an irradiation profile for each of the one or more treatment regions to contour each respective treatment region as part of applying the contouring treatment. Methods may also include irradiating the photo-responsive material at the one or more treatment regions in accordance with the respective irradiation profiles. Irradiating the photo-responsive material may induce a localized change in shape of the photo-responsive material in the respective treatment regions.

Method of preparing a keratin-based biomaterial is provided. The method comprises a) reacting keratin with a polymer having at least one of an amine and carboxylic functional group in the presence of a carbodiimide cross-linking agent to form a cross-linked keratin-polymer material; and b) freeze drying the cross-linked keratin-polymer material to form the keratin-based bio-material. A keratin-based biomaterial thus prepared is also provided.
