Topical pharmaceutical compositions for treating a skin condition or disorder are provided. The topical pharmaceutical compositions can be formulated as lotions containing a therapeutically effective amount of an active agent, such as tretinoin, a viscosity increasing agent, and advantageously small amounts of both a polymeric emulsifier and an oil component. The topical compositions of the present invention are tolerated exceptionally well by subjects to whom the compositions are administered.

Microparticles based on ester derivatives of hyaluronan and related methods and compositions are disclosed. The microparticles comprise a conjugate of all-trans retinoic acid and a particular hyaluronan comprising from 1 to 5000 dimer units; where the microparticles comprise a degree of substitution of all-trans retinoic acid residues in the conjugate of hyaluronan in the range of from 0.1 to 8%. Methods of preparing the microparticles and related compositions are also disclosed.

The present invention relates to a composition comprising: a 5-benzyl aminosalicylic acid compound in chemical formula I or cosmetically acceptable salts thereof; and a cosmetically acceptable excipient suitable for local administration. The composition comprising the 5-benzyl aminosalicylic acid compound in chemical formula I or cosmetically acceptable salts thereof can be used for reducing or alleviating human skin aging by means of antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and whitening actions on the skin.

The compositions can additionally reduce or mitigate unwanted side effects shown in other retinol products such as erythema or redness in skin, skin dryness, peeling or flaking of skin, and/or skin irritation including without limitation, burning, stinging, itching, or tingling. The composition includes a combination of one or more of Rosmarinus officianalis leaf extract, Morus alba fruit extract, tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, retinol, Acmella oleracea extract, Alpinia galanga leaf extract, Argania spinosa oil, and/or saccharide isomerate.

External compositions containing one or more lipophilic naphthoic acid retinoid compounds are described. The external compositions are applied to skin where they stimulate skin repair and visibly improve skin damage caused by photoaging and acne.

The compositions of various embodiments include a tocopherol phosphate mixture (TPM) comprising a liposome having a lipid bilayer and an internal aqueous compartment, a lipophilic ingredient, a polar solvent system, an alcohol, a base, and a water soluble phase, wherein the liposome is made of a tocopherol phosphate derivative, wherein the lipophilic ingredients are entrapped in the lipophilic bilayer of the liposome, and wherein a water soluble ingredient is dissolved in the water soluble phase and is in the internal compartment of the liposome. The methods include improving the look of skin particularly of the neck and décolletage, increasing expression of an extracellular matrix proteins in skin, improving a keloid scar in a subject, and improving aging skin. Additionally, methods for preparing said compositions are described herein.

A cosmetic composition to combat skin aging, particularly on the neck, includes a blend of skin actives comprising at least the combination of glaucine, retinol and a blend of peptides. The skin actives are provided in an aqueous carrier in a single phase, biphase or emulsion wherein the cosmetic composition is a leave on treatment in the form of a cream, gel, lotion, toner, or serum. The cosmetic composition provides one or more benefits, including, but not limited to improvement in many signs of skin aging, particularly on the neck, such as lines, wrinkles, crepiness, and sagging, the benefits conferred by one or more of increasing firmness, increasing elasticity, improving hydration, and reducing the presence superficial adipose tissue. A skincare rejuvenation composition, adapted at least for tactile use, consists essentially of a skincare rejuvenation ingredient, a skin exfoliation ingredient, an acidity balancing ingredient, a sunscreen composition and an emulsifier. The skincare rejuvenation ingredient has a first weight percentage, the skin exfoliation ingredient has a second weight percentage, and the acidity balancing ingredient has a third weight percentage, whereby each of the first weight percentage, the second weight percentage, and the third weight percentage are substantially equal. As an example, the skincare rejuvenation ingredient may be retinol, the skin exfoliation ingredient may be glycolic acid, and the acidity balancing ingredient may be hyaluronic acid.

Anhydrous skin care compositions contain encapsulates, which in turn contain active agents, including retinol and/or bakuchiol. When formulated in a stick form and applied to the skin, the pressure applied to the stick during application deposits the skin care composition onto the skin. During application, some of the encapsulates contained in the composition collapse or rupture, releasing some of the retinol and/or bakuchiol payload onto the skin. As application continues, the encapsulates may break up into smaller particles that retain some of the payload of the active agent(s), which remain on the skin and deliver all or a portion of the retained payload to the skin over time, resulting in “extended release” of active agent(s) into the skin.
