The present invention relates to a hair cosmetic containing the following components (A) to (C): (A) a compound represented by the following general formula (1) or a salt thereof: ##STR00001## wherein a broken line represents the presence or absence of a π bond; R.sup.1 represents a hydroxy group or an acetoxy group; R.sup.2 represents a hydrogen atom or —COOR (R is a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, or an ethyl group); and R.sup.3 represents a hydrogen atom, an acetyl group, a methyl group, or an ethyl group; (B) a cationic polymer; and (C) an ampholytic polymer having a predetermined cationic structural unit and an anionic structural unit, a mass ratio of the component (C) to the component (A) [(C)/(A)] being 0.7 or more and 10 or less.

A method of providing a treatment for cleaning and removing oils from hair includes providing a cosmetic that includes a blend of a powder phase including at least two absorbents selected from the group of mica, silica, starch, talc, kaolin and zeolite, and at least one emollient with a solvent phase. The blended powder and solvent phases are formed into a dry shampoo product adapted for manual application to the hair. A porous mold may be used to provide the cosmetic. Techniques may be applied to other forms of cosmetic compositions.

A subject of the present invention is an anhydrous composition comprising:

a) at least particles encapsulating at least one beneficial agent, the particles being able to release the beneficial agent in the presence of water;
b) at least one sebum-absorbing powder with a sebum uptake of greater than or equal to 35 ml/100 g, and/or at least one styling powder other than the particles encapsulating at least one beneficial agent;
c) optionally a propellant.

A subject of the present invention is also to a process for the dry-washing and cosmetic treatment of keratin materials, comprising a step of applying the composition to the hair.

SOLID POWDER COSMETIC

An objective of the present invention is to provide a solid powder cosmetic excellent in impact resistance and usability despite that boron nitride and spherical resin particle are blended in a large amount. Described herein is a hair care composition including from about 0.01% to about 20% of a lipid being one or more unsaturated fatty materials chosen from unsaturated fatty acids, unsaturated fatty alcohols, and mixtures thereof. The unsaturated fatty material has a Log P of less than 8. The hair care composition also includes from about 0.01% to about 10% of a fatty acid monoester of a polyol, a saturated fatty alcohol, an ester of a saturated fatty alcohol, and mixtures thereof. The molecule of the fatty acid component of the fatty acid monoester includes a linear or a branched carbon chain with 10 to 22 carbon atoms. The fatty acid monoester of a polyol has a log P of less than 8. The molecule of the fatty alcohol includes a linear or branched carbon chain with 8 to 22 carbon atoms. The hair care composition also includes a non-aqueous volatile solvent.

The invention relates especially to a composition in the form of an oil-in-water emulsion comprising an inner fatty phase and an outer aqueous phase and containing: a) at least 0.01% by weight and preferably at least 0.05% by weight, relative to the total weight of the composition, of at least one inulin modified with hydrophobic chains, and b) at least 0.05% by weight and preferably at least 0.1% by weight, relative to the total weight of the composition, of at least one thickening polysaccharide of plant origin, the said composition being free of silicones. The invention also relates to a cosmetic process using the said composition.
