Personal care compositions comprising surface-modified particles and non-volatile funcationalised silicone
Disclosed is a personal care composition comprising (a) particle comprising chitosan salt at the outer surface of the particle; and (b) functionalized non-volatile silicone, wherein the amount of the functionalized non-volatile silicone is greater than 20% by weight of the total non-volatile silicone.
Chitosan-pluronic complex and nano-carrier comprising same
The present invention relates to a transdermal nano-carrier and, more specifically, to a nano-carrier having a chitosan-based nano-sponge structure. According to the present invention, as a nano-carrier having enhanced transdermal delivery on the basis of a complex containing chitosan is provided, it is possible to effectively deliver drugs, cosmetic materials, etc. into the skin.
Multi-target antimicrobial compositions comprising chitosan
The present application is directed to antimicrobial compositions comprising chitosan polymers of at least two different average molecular weights (Mws), wherein the Mw of each different chitosan polymer is selected to target a different microorganism as well as method of making and using the compositions and product comprising the compositions.
METHODS FOR CELL FREE PROTEIN EXPRESSION OF MATURE POLYPEPTIDES DERIVED FROM ZYMOGENS AND PROPROTEINS
High throughput cell free protein synthesis methods and systems are provided for expression of active, mature enzymes and proteins derived from zymogens and proproteins. Zymogens and proproteins are expressed in their mature, active form in a cell free expression system, without cleavage of a pro-sequence to produce the active polypeptide.
Microcapsules loaded with probiotics and production thereof
A production method of microencapsulated probiotics with chitosan-alginate polymers, the microcapsules loaded with probiotics obtained by this method and their use in food, agriculture and cosmetics. The microcapsules do not make alterations in the color and appearance of the product in which they are applied and have antifungal and anti-mycotoxin features.
COSMETIC EMULSION BASES (CEB)
At least one embodiment, relates to a method for making cosmetic emulsions comprising the steps of preparing a uniform (suspension) dispersion of at least one water soluble polymer in a mixture containing at least one fatty alcohol. The mixture is to be sufficiently uniform to be processed by flaking, pastillating, prilling or otherwise solidifying the mixture which is then to be added to a cosmetic emulsion oil phase before combining with a water phase.
ACTIVE MIXURE
Suggested is an active mixture, comprising or consisting of: (a) at least one biopolymer; (b) at least one glycosaminoglycan; (c) at least one disaccharide; and optionally (d) at least one active selected from the group consisting of phenols and/or polyphenols.
COSMETIC METHOD FOR CONTROLLING ODORS
The invention relates to a cosmetic method for treating human body odors. Said method includes:
(i) applying, to the skin, a composition containing a polymer (I):
##STR00001##
wherein R′ is, separately, H or an acetyl grouping or a —CO-L-X grouping, the polymer containing at least one R′═—CO-L-X grouping,
L being a divalent hydrocarbon group containing 1 to 20 carbon atoms,
X denoting a photoactive azide or diazirine group,
and n ranging from 5 to 2000;
then (ii) exposing the skin to visible light.
The method used on the skin can also be used on materials for deodorizing malodorous environments such as shoe soles or clothing.
CHITOSAN-BASED HYDROGEL AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF.
An hydrogel comprising chitosan and two weak bases having different pKb values. In some embodiments, one of the weak bases if sodium hydrogen carbonate (SHC). Also, use of the hydrogel in medical and cosmetic treatments.
Chitosan: Aldehyde Film-Coated Fibers or Hairs, Related Methods and Compositions
The invention includes methods of forming a semi-permanent film on a fiber comprising topically applying an effective amount of a composition to the hair and exposing the hair to a temperature of about 50° C. or greater thereby forming a film on the hair. The composition comprises a chitosan, an aldehyde-bearing compound, and an organic acid. Also included are the compositions that form the film, specifically compositions that form a semi-permanent film on a fiber in the presence of heat comprising a chitosan, an aldehyde-bearing compound, and an organic acid. Other, related methods are within the scope of the invention.
