Products containing charged polymer complex microcapsules and method of use

In one aspect, the invention provides a method for treating a protein-containing surface, including applying to the surface a microcapsule suspension including droplets of a dispersed water-immiscible core phase, an aqueous continuous phase, and a wall surrounding each core phase droplet, the wall including the salt formed from at least one amphiphilic Lewis acid reactant or amphiphilic Lewis base reactant, and at least one corresponding Lewis base reactant or Lewis acid reactant.

Hair cosmetic

The present invention relates to a hair cosmetic containing the following components (A) to (C): (A) a compound represented by the following general formula (1) or a salt thereof: ##STR00001## wherein a broken line represents the presence or absence of a π bond; R.sup.1 represents a hydroxy group or an acetoxy group; R.sup.2 represents a hydrogen atom or —COOR (R is a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, or an ethyl group); and R.sup.3 represents a hydrogen atom, an acetyl group, a methyl group, or an ethyl group; (B) a cationic polymer; and (C) an ampholytic polymer having a predetermined cationic structural unit and an anionic structural unit, a mass ratio of the component (C) to the component (A) [(C)/(A)] being 0.7 or more and 10 or less.

Fragrance Treatment Complex
20170231892 · 2017-08-17 · ·

A fragrance extending product containing a fragrance treatment complex is disclosed to extend the effective life of the fragrance carried by a fragrance-bearing product, such as perfume and cologne. The fragrance extending product is preferably a spray-on product that can be applied over the top of the fragrance-bearing product. The fragrance treatment complex resists the evaporation of the perfume oils from the fragrance-bearing product, as well as resists removal caused by abrasion and binding with water. The fragrance treatment complex formulation includes acrylates/octylacrylamide copolymer; Polyquaternium 11, a quaternized copolymer; guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, a cationic polymer, and cocamidopropyl PG-dimonium chloride, a phospholipid. Tests have shown that the effective life of a fragrance-bearing product can be more than twelve hours with the application of the fragrance treatment complex over the fragrance-bearing product previously applied to a human body. A long lasting fragrance bearing product is also disclosed using the fragrance treatment complex.

Rheology modifier compositions and methods of use

A composition for enhancing fluid viscosity including a mixture of at least one cationic or cationizable polymer and at least one anionic or anionizable (hydrolysable) polymer. The composition has a zeta potential at 25° C. in the range of 0.5 to 100 mV or −0.5 to −100 mV, typically 1 to 60 mV or −1 to −60 mV, or is a precursor convertible at a temperature of 100 to 250° C. to the composition having a zeta potential at 25° C. of 0.5 to 100 mV or −0.5 to −100 mV, typically 1 to 60 mV or −1 to −60 mV. Typically the compositions exhibit salt tolerance and interaction of both polymers at very high temperatures (>300° F.) such that the system exhibits an increase of viscosity at extreme temperatures. The compositions are useful for hydraulic fracturing, enhanced oil recovery, subterranean acidization, personal care as well as home and industrial cleaners.
