A water-soluble and/or water-swellable hybrid polymer comprising: (i) from 5 wt.-% to 95 wt.-% water-soluble and/or water-swellable polysaccharide polymer; (ii) from 5 wt.-% to 95 wt.-% synthetic polymer comprising: (a) from 40 mol-% to 99 mol-% of repeating units according to Formula (1) ##STR00001## (b) from 0.01 mol-% to 5 mol-% crosslinking or branching units, wherein the crosslinking or branching units result from the incorporation of a monomer comprising at least two olefinically unsaturated double bonds; (c) from 0.99 mol-% to 59.99 mol-% of repeating neutral structural units;
wherein components (i) and (ii) are polymerized by radical precipitation polymerization in a polar solvent.

The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition, notably a hair composition, comprising anionic surfactants, amphoteric surfactants, cationic polysaccharides and unsaturated fatty alcohols present in a content of less than 1% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition. The invention also relates to a cosmetic treatment process for caring for and/or cleansing the hair, using said composition.

The invention discloses a composition comprising glycyrrhizin, hyaluronic acid or a salt or a derivative thereof, and a viscosizing agent. The composition therefore finds advantageous application in all those cosmetic and therapeutic indications in which glycyrrhizin is used, since the composition according to the invention significantly improves the bioavailability thereof.

The present disclosure relates to composition and method for treating hair. A hair care composition comprising, in a cosmetically acceptable solvent: (a) one or more carboxylate anionic surfactants; (b) one or more cationic guar compounds; (c) one or more polysaccharide gums; and (d) one or more glyceryl esters, present in a total amount of at least 2 wt. % based on the total weight of the hair are composition. The composition of the present invention may optionally comprise one or more secondary surfactants.

The instant disclosure relates to hair cosmetic compositions that include a unique combination of components that function to impart desirable cosmetic properties to hair, in particular, curly hair. The hair cosmetic compositions typically include a nonionic guar gum; a gum selected from xanthan gum and sclerotium gum, a fatty alcohol, esters selected from glyceryl ester and a second ester, plant- or vegetable-based fatty component comprising coconut oil and shea butter, and water.

A hair treatment composition in a cationic system includes water and a novel association of polysaccharide, such as inulin, a wax, such as, candelilla wax, a cationic surfactant, such as, behentrimonium chloride, and a film-forming polymer, such as polysilicone-29. The composition may include one or more additional components selected from fatty compounds, cationic polymers and styling polymers, embodied to deliver one or more of smoothing, straightening and curling/curl defining style features to achieve a particular straight or curly style with frizz control, softness and manageability.

An anhydrous shampoo composition includes two surfactants selected from (a) sodium cocoyl isethionate, and (b) at least one of sodium lauroyl methyl isethionate and sodium cocoyl methyl isethionate; and propanediol. The compositions can further include glycerin, gaur and citric acid. The shampoos compositions are capable of foaming when combined with water during use for cleaning and conditioning keratinous fibers.

A cosmetic composition for treating acne includes at least one acne treatment active that includes at least one beta hydroxy acid and an aqueous carrier comprising at least one cationic polymer. In some embodiments the cosmetic composition is a cleanser that comprises at least one surfactant. When the composition is applied to a keratinous tissue it demonstrates deposition and retention of the beta hydroxy acid on the keratinous tissue after rinsing with water in an amount representing about at least 60% and up to about 250% greater as compared with an amount deposited using a composition that lacks the at least one cationic polymer.

Aspects of the disclosure are directed to a hair cosmetic composition comprising: about 4 to about 32 wt. % of two or more polyols, such as about 1 wt. % or more of a glycol and about 2 wt. % or more of glycerin; about 0.5 to about 10 wt. % of a nonionic surfactant; about 2 to about 35 wt. % of a fatty ester; about 0.1 to about 7 wt. % of a film former; about 0.05 to about 10 wt. % of a silicone polymer; about 0.5 to about 12 wt. % of an oil; and water, wherein all weight percentages are based on the total weight of the hair cosmetic composition.

The disclosure relates to compositions comprising (a) at least one polyol with a heterocyclic moiety; (b) at least one nonionic polysaccharide thickening agent; (c) at least one linear or branched C.sub.3-C.sub.8 polyol chosen from diols and triols; (d) at least one cationic surfactant; (e) at least one emulsifier chosen from fatty alcohols, esters, or combinations thereof; and (f) optionally, at least one vegetable oil. The compositions can be used as leave-in compositions for elongation of hair curls. The disclosure also relates to kits comprising the compositions and methods of using the compositions.
