A rotary valve 1 comprising a stator 3 and a rotor 5, wherein the stator comprises a plurality of connection ports (17a-17l) and orifices (19a-19l) and the rotor comprises a plurality of pairs of rotor valve orifices (23a-23h) joined by transfer channels (25a-25d). The rotor is able to be placed in different working positions whereby fluids can be fed to, for example, chromatography columns and/or can be bypassed through or around the valve. The invention also relates to a system comprising two components such as chromatography columns and a rotary valve.

HYDRAULIC COMPONENT WITH A VALVE UNIT AND HYDRAULIC SYSTEM WITH A HYDRAULIC COMPONENT

The present disclosure relates to a hydraulic component with a valve unit for a hydraulic system, and a hydraulic system having such a hydraulic component. The valve unit of the hydraulic component has a valve block and a valve piston. The valve piston is moveably along a first bore supported in the valve block. Further, the valve unit is admittable with pressurized hydraulic fluid and is configured such that the valve piston can be moved between a closed position and an open position. The hydraulic component according to the disclosure is particularly characterized in that the first bore is configured as a through-hole through the entire valve block and the hydraulic component has a collecting unit. The collecting unit at least partially surrounds the two end openings of the first bore and is configured collect and drain hydraulic fluid leaking out of the two end openings of the bore.

A digitally controlled current to pressure converter (CPC) and method of controlling same is provided. The method of controlling includes the step of periodically imparting symmetrically-opposed movement of a control valve of the CPC to loosen and flush accumulated silt therefrom. More particularly, the method may include the step of periodically introducing a small-amplitude symmetrically-opposed impulse to a controller that actuates a hydraulic control shaft of a three-way rotary valve. Also provided is a method of preventing malfunction due to faulty input or feedback signals received by the CPC, and a method of detecting the health status of multiple CPCs when used in a redundant configuration.

The detectors can include a wireless transmitter and communicate with a displaced alarm monitoring system.
