The present disclosure provides a system, method, and apparatus for a protective finish for an airfoil. In one or more embodiments, the disclosed method involves providing a sheath, and applying the sheath to the surface of the airfoil. In one or more embodiments, the sheath wraps around the surface of the airfoil from the leading edge of the airfoil towards the trailing edge of the airfoil. In at least one embodiment, the sheath covers approximately 50 percent to approximately 70 percent of the chord length of the airfoil. In some embodiments, the sheath is manufactured from at least one polymer, such as a polyurethane and/or a floropolymer. In one or more embodiments, the airfoil is a winglet, a raked wing tip, and/or a wing.

Glass laminate, display element, display apparatus, method of manufacturing the glass laminate, and method of manufacturing the display panel

A glass laminate, a display element, a display apparatus, a method of manufacturing the glass laminate, and a method of manufacturing the display panel. The glass laminate includes a carrier glass substrate; an intermediate layer stacked on the carrier glass substrate and formed of a material having a columnar grain structure; and a thin glass substrate stacked on the intermediate layer.

The present invention provides, in at least one embodiment, a film and method for engraving objects. The film includes an adhesive layer configured to allow the film to be easily repositionable on the surface of an object. For example, the film can be shifted, rotated, or moved prior to pressure being applied and before the engraving. Additionally, the photoresist layer includes microspheres comprising small pockets of air which strengthen the photoresist layer by bouncing the engraving blast away and allow the photoresist layer to advantageously be designed thinner.

Atmospheric balloon system

A balloon system includes a balloon having a balloon membrane extending between an upper apex and a lower apex opening. The lower apex opening extends through the balloon membrane at a balloon lip. A ballonet is within the balloon. The ballonet is coupled with the balloon membrane at the lower apex opening. The ballonet includes a lower ballonet panel having a lower perimeter edge and a ballonet orifice extending through the lower ballonet panel at a ballonet lip and an upper ballonet panel having an upper perimeter edge. The upper and lower ballonet panels are coupled along the respective upper and lower perimeter edges. A lower apex fitting couples the ballonet with the balloon at the balloon lip of the lower apex opening.

A method for producing, in a composite material, a component that has a re-entrant angle, includes stacking layers of fibers which have been pre-impregnated with a resin so as to obtain a preform and placing the preform in a tooling fixture in order to subject it to a polymerization cycle including a temperature cycle, with a temperature-increase phase and at least one soak at which the temperature is maintained, and a pressure cycle on the outside of the tooling fixture with a pressure-increase phase and a pressure-hold phase, with the layers of pre-impregnated fibers being able to slip against one another when the temperature of the temperature cycle is equal to or higher than a threshold temperature Tf dependent on the resin. The temperature-increase phase includes a soak at a temperature higher than or equal to Tf, the soak beginning before the end of the pressure-increase phase.
