Methods for producing a cosmetic coating on a skin surface, by: (A) electrostatically spraying a composition comprising component (a) one or more volatile substances selected from the group consisting of water, an alcohol and a ketone, and component (b) a polymer having a film-forming ability directly onto the skin to form a coating on the skin surface; and (B) subsequently applying a powder-containing cosmetic on the formed coating, afford cosmetic coatings which can be removed without using a cleansing agent.

INHIBITING COLOR FADING WITH LAYER-BY-LAYER FILMS
20170281515 · 2017-10-05 ·

The present disclosure relates to methods for inhibiting color fading in hair and for improving the color durability and stability of artificial color of hair. The methods entail forming a layer-by-layer (LbL) film on hair, and optionally forming a cationic surface layer on the LbL film. The LbL film is formed by applying a cationic silane layer on the hair and subsequently applying an anionic polymer layer on the cationic silane. Multiple cationic silane layers and anionic polymer layers can sequentially be added as desired. Finally, the LbL film may comprise a cationic surface layer.

A droplet for delivering toothpaste to a user can be provided. The droplet can include a dissolvable outer membrane defining a volume with toothpaste inside the volume. The outer membrane can be formed from dissolvable film strip technology and include a tail or corner portion, which is configured to be embedded into the bristles of a toothbrush. In one aspect of this embodiment, the outer membrane of the droplet can form a pillow-like shape. The droplet further can include one or more extensions coupled to the outer surface of the outer membrane, where the one or more extensions can have a triangular shape, a barb shape or the like. In one aspect of this embodiment, the droplet further can include a logo, a cartoon character, a word or the like printed on the outer membrane. The plurality of extensions can form irregularities on the outer surface of the body section of the outer membrane.

Nanofibre and bioactive compositions and related methods

Described herein are compositions in nanofiber form including one or more bioactive compounds releasably incorporated thereon. In one embodiment a composition is described comprising at least one nanofiber and at least one bioactive compound. The nanofibers are formed from a base material that is solubilized with the bioactive or bioactives in an aqueous based solvent solution and the base material and bioactives are together spun via electrospinning to form dry fibers with the bioactives chemically bonded to the nanofibers and the bioactives remaining stable during storage of the composition under ambient conditions substantially free of moisture. On exposure to moisture, the nanofibers dissolve, thereby releasing the bioactives.
