PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE NAIL COMPOSITIONS
The invention relates to anhydrous nail compositions comprising interpolymer complexing compounds and a polar solvent. It further relates to methods of using such compositions.
SPRAYABLE COMPOSITIONS FOR STYLING HAIR
The present invention relates to a sprayable composition for providing a translucent, transparent, semi-transparent or opaque sprayable hair product which exhibits a high level of hold and rigidity to hair such that hair can be held in a particular position for prolonged periods of time without unnatural hardness, superior retention of shape in conditions of heat and humidity, and imparting thickness and body compared to current hairsprays; the composition comprising: a propellant and at least one binder, wherein at least one binder comprises an ethylene vinyl alkanoate copolymer with a weight percent of vinyl alkanoate in the copolymer within the range of 19 wt % to 42 wt %. The invention is also related to the apparatus comprising a container containing the sprayable composition, the methods for forming a coating on a surface and, particularly, the corresponding methods for styling hair, as well as the use of at least one binder in a manufacture of a sprayable composition for styling hair, wherein at least one binder is an ethylene-vinyl alkanoate copolymer with a weight percent of vinyl alkanoate in the copolymer within the range of 19 wt % to 42 wt %.
COVALENT TREATMENT FOR KERATIN-CONTAINING MATERIALS
Disclosed are methods of grafting monomeric and polymeric materials on keratin-containing material to provide a covalent coating on keratin-containing material. A mixture comprising a reducing agent is applied to the keratin-containing material sample. The keratin-containing material sample then comprises a plurality of free thiol groups. A monomer is applied to the keratin-containing material sample. The free thiol groups react with the monomer to form a plurality of covalent bonds between the free thiol groups and the monomers. The reducing agent and the monomer can be applied separately, semi-simultaneously, or simultaneously. The disclosed methods can be carried out with or without catalyst. The disclosed methods can be carried out with or without an additive.
Optical Evanescent Color Change Compositions and Methods of Making and Using the Same
Aspects of the invention include evanescent color change compositions having a colored pigment and a color changer that changes the colored pigment from colored to colorless in response to an applied stimulus to the color changer. Methods for preparing the subject evanescent color change compositions and liquid compositions (e.g., sunscreens) that include the subject evanescent color change compositions are also described. Methods for forming a uniform coating on a surface using the subject evanescent color change compositions are also provided.
Composition for strip-free hair removal
The invention relates to an adhesive composition having a main fraction of synthetic tackifying resin, and a fraction of at least one macromolecular component, characterised in that said at least one macromolecular component comprises a copolymer of at least two different monomers taken from the alpha olefins and ethylene, to give the composition for strip-free hair removal mechanical or adhesive properties.
UV-PROTECTIVE COMPOSITIONS AND THEIR USE
Disclosed are UV protective compositions comprising BLT crystals having the formula Bi.sub.(4-x)La.sub.(x)Ti.sub.(3-y)Fe.sub.(y)O.sub.12, wherein x is between 0.1 and 1.5; and wherein y is between 0 and 2. There are also disclosed compositions comprising nanoparticles of such BLT crystals, the nanoparticles being optionally dispersed in a polymer matrix. Methods of preparation and uses of such compositions are also provided.
Barrier patch of a foamed film and methods of improving skin appearance
A beauty care product is provided. The beauty care product has a multi-layered barrier patch with a non-foamed first layer and a foamed second layer. The non-foamed first layer has a non-foamed polymer film with a first surface and a thickness from 5 microns to 250 microns. The foamed second layer has a foamed polymer film comprising a Mean Void Volume Percentage from 45% to 80% and a thickness of from 10 microns to 250 microns. The beauty care product also has a cosmetic composition with an effective amount of a skin active agent and a pressure sensitive adhesive.
Surfactant responsive emulsion polymerized micro-gels
A stable, aqueous composition containing a crosslinked, nonionic, amphiphilic polymer capable of forming a yield stress fluid in the presence of a surfactant is disclosed. The yield stress fluid is capable of suspending insoluble materials in the form of particulates and/or droplets requiring suspension or stabilization.
