A cosmetic composition including component (A), which is an aqueous gelling agent represented by general formula (1) described in the specification, and a component (B), which is a polymeric thickening agent, wherein the component (A) presents a viscosity of an aqueous solution containing 1 mass % of at 25 C. of 1,000 to 5,000 mPa.Math.s and a clouding point of the aqueous solution containing 1 mass % of component (A) of 60 C. to 80 C., and has a weight average molecular weight of 10,000 to 30,000; a method for producing the aqueous gelling agent and a method for producing the cosmetic composition are provided.
Hair shaping process using fatty substances, non-silicone polymers or surfactants
The invention relates to a cosmetic process for treating keratin fibers, preferably the hair, comprising at least the steps consisting in: a) applying to said keratin fibers a composition containing at least one substance chosen from fatty substances, non-silicone polymers and surfactants, b) applying a mechanical tension to said keratin fibers, and c) exposing said keratin fibers under mechanical tension to microwaves, at a pressure ranging from 50 000 to 250 000 Pa, in the presence of at least one solvent in vapor form on contact with the keratin fibers and without there being complete drying of the keratin fibers throughout the entire exposure to the microwaves, the solvent(s) in vapor form being entirely generated by evaporating at least one compound present, before emission of the microwaves, on contact with the keratin fibers, step a) taking place prior to step c).
ANHYDROUS COSMETIC COMPOSITIONS AND USES
Described herein, an anhydrous cosmetic composition includes a first water-absorbing component comprising a mixture of a superabsorbent polymer and a polyquaternium; a second water-absorbing component selected from the group consisting of starch particles, a stearate component, and mixtures thereof; a malodour-controlling component; a cosmetically acceptable carrier; and wherein the anhydrous cosmetic composition is essentially free of aluminum-based antiperspirant actives.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR TREATING HAIR
Disclosed herein are compositions and methods for styling hair comprising at least two latex polymers, wherein at least one latex polymer is a film-forming polymer; at least one aminofunctional silicone; at least one thickening agent chosen from optionally crosslinked and/or neutralized 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid polymers (AMPS) and copolymers, crosslinked anionic copolymers of acrylamide, crosslinked anionic copolymers of AMPS, emulsions of crosslinked anionic copolymers of acrylamide/nonionic surfactants, emulsions of AMPS/nonionic surfactants, or mixtures thereof; at least one nonionic surfactant chosen glyceryl esters, fatty alcohols, alkoxylated alcohols and lanolin, alkylpolyglucosides, or mixtures thereof; and water; wherein the at least two latex polymers are present in a combined amount ranging from about 0.1% to about 30% by weight, relative to the weight of the composition.
Sprayable compositions for styling hair
The present invention relates to a sprayable composition for providing a translucent, transparent, semi-transparent or opaque sprayable hair product which exhibits a high level of hold and rigidity to hair such that hair can be held in a particular position for prolonged periods of time without unnatural hardness, superior retention of shape in conditions of heat and humidity, and imparting thickness and body compared to current hairsprays; the composition comprising: a propellant and at least one binder, wherein at least one binder comprises an ethylene vinyl alkanoate copolymer with a weight percent of vinyl alkanoate in the copolymer within the range of 19 wt % to 42 wt %. The invention is also related to the apparatus comprising a container containing the sprayable composition, the methods for forming a coating on a surface and, particularly, the corresponding methods for styling hair, as well as the use of at least one binder in a manufacture of a sprayable composition for styling hair, wherein at least one binder is an ethylene-vinyl alkanoate copolymer with a weight percent of vinyl alkanoate in the copolymer within the range of 19 wt % to 42 wt %.
Flushable wipes
A wipe comprises fibres selected from at least one of cellulosic material, polyvinyl acetate (PVA) or a combination thereof; together with a binder which is soluble in water at standard ambient temperature and pressure (SATP). The wipe can be flushed away and is suitable for carrying a solution. The wipe is especially suitable for carrying a solution for medical purposes.
Aqueous Perfume Compositions
Reduced-ethanol perfume compositions according to the invention comprise specific combinations of acrylates/VA copolymer and acrylates copolymer in an aqueous base or delivery vehicle. The perfume compositions according to the invention are easy to manufacture and provide an aqueous perfume composition that preserves aromatic integrity (intensity, duration and range), even in emulsion form.
