TINTED MINERAL SUNSCREEN COMPOSITIONS
A tinted mineral sunscreen composition is provided in the form of a water-in-oil emulsion comprising a cationic surfactant; one or more oil thickening agent; one or more mineral pigments; one or more mineral UV filtering agents; and water wherein the ratio between the cationic surfactant and the total amount of oil thickening agents is from about 0.05 to about 3.
Method for colouring keratin fibers
The present invention relates to a method of coloring keratin fibers, especially human hair, which delivers intensive, long lasting, brilliant colors and provides improved grey coverage. Kit therefore is disclosed as well. The method of colouring hair involves treating hair prior to colouring with an alkaline reducing agent.
HAIR SHAPING PROCESS USING FATTY SUBSTANCES, NON-SILICONE POLYMERS OR SURFACTANTS
The invention relates to a cosmetic process for treating keratin fibers, preferably the hair, comprising at least the steps consisting in: a) applying to said keratin fibers a composition containing at least one substance chosen from fatty substances, non-silicone polymers and surfactants, b) applying a mechanical tension to said keratin fibers, and c) exposing said keratin fibers under mechanical tension to microwaves, at a pressure ranging from 50 000 to 250 000 Pa, in the presence of at least one solvent in vapor form on contact with the keratin fibers and without there being complete drying of the keratin fibers throughout the entire exposure to the microwaves, the solvent(s) in vapor form being entirely generated by evaporating at least one compound present, before emission of the microwaves, on contact with the keratin fibers, step a) taking place prior to step c).
Cosmetic compositions capable of forming a multilayer structure after application to a keratinous material
Pigmented cosmetic compositions capable of forming a multilayer structure after application to a keratinous material are provided, as well as methods of using same. Certain compositions comprise (a) Component A which comprises (i) about 0.01% to 60% by weight with respect to the total weight of the composition of at least one silicone- and/or hydrocarbon-containing film forming agent having at least one glass transition temperature which is lower than normal human body temperature; (ii) at least one pigment or filler, wherein the pigment or filler is surface-treated with a trialkoxyalkylsilane; and (b) Component B which comprises (i) about 0.01% to 90% by weight with respect to the total weight of the composition of one or more silicone compounds in amounts sufficient to achieve a viscosity of about 1,000 cSt to 10,000,000 cSt;
wherein the Component A and Component B are immiscible.
COSMETIC COMPOSITION HAVING INCREASED SKIN CONTACT AND MAKEUP PERSISTENCE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME
Disclosed are a cosmetic composition and a cosmetic product including the cosmetic composition. The cosmetic composition includes 5 wt % to 30 wt % of a powder, 0.1 wt % to 10 wt % of a film-forming agent, 10 wt % to 30 wt % of a silicone oil, and 0.1 wt % to 10 wt % of a spherical powder.
4- and 5-substituted 1,2,3-triazole, and regioisomer mixtures thereof, modified polymers
Provided are novel 4- and 5-substituted 1,2,3-triazoles, and regioisomer mixtures thereof, modified polymers, wherein the substituted 1,2,3-triazoles are modified by reaction with a modifying polymer (maleic anhydride based polymer). Depending upon the ratio of the substituted 1,2,3-triazole to the maleic anhydride based polymer employed, the resulting modified polymers can provide maleic anhydride based polymers that are partially or fully reacted with the substituted 1,2,3-triazoles. The resulting modified polymers may be partially or fully opened to provide amic acids, carboxylic acids, carboxylic acidic salts, imides, or esters. The novel 4- or 5-substituted 1,2,3-triazoles, and regioisomer mixtures thereof, modified polymers can be converted to a wide variety of useful polymers and may be employed in a wide variety of compositions. An example of a modified polymer may be represented by the structure: formula: (1) wherein m, n, and q are defined herein. ##STR00001##
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR STYLING HAIR
The disclosure relates to compositions comprising (a) at least one latex type film former acrylate-based polymers, polyurethane-based polymers, derivatives thereof, or combinations thereof; (b) at least one polysaccharide gum; (c) potato starch or a derivative thereof; and (d) water. The disclosure also relates to methods of using the compositions to style hair.
APPARATUS, METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR LOW ENERGY PROCESSING OF CONSUMER PERSONAL HYGIENE PRODUCTS; FORMULATIONS OF THE SAME
Embodiments described herein relate generally to apparatus, methods and systems for low energy processing of consumer personal hygiene products (PHPs) and formulations of the same. In some embodiments, a method of manufacturing a consumer PHP comprises combining a first material and second material at room temperature to form a first mixture, mixing the first mixture at room temperature, adding a third material at room temperature to form a second mixture; mixing the second mixture at room temperature, adding a fourth material at room temperature to form a third mixture; and mixing the third mixture at room temperature. In some embodiments, the third material and the fourth material can be mixed to form the second mixture and the first mixture and second mixture can be combined to form the third mixture. In some embodiments, the mixing can be accomplished using a propeller mixer. In some embodiments, the propeller mixer can be rotated at a speed of greater than about 200 rpm during at least one of the mixing steps. In some embodiments, the pH of the third mixture can be adjusted to between about 4.5 and about 6.5 using an acidifier. In some embodiments, the viscosity of the third mixture can be adjusted to between about 100 cP and about 25,000 cP using a thickener.
