Method for Sunless Tanning and Method for Darkening White Hair
A method for sunless tanning is disclosed. The method includes applying an effective amount of an extract of cocoa rind to a skin of a subject in need thereof. The extract of cocoa rind is obtained by extracting a sample of cocoa rind by an aqueous ethanol solution with a concentration of ethanol being 50-75%. A method for darkening white hair is also disclosed.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR WHITENING TEETH
Compositions and methods for whitening the teeth of a patient or subject are described for performing a dental prophylaxis or cleaning procedure during which at least one tooth whitening composition is applied to the surface of a stained tooth, said compositions and methods resulting in a tooth color change that is noticeable to the patient or subject immediately following the procedure. The novel procedure allows for a high degree of tooth whitening to be safely achieved in a short period of time while under the control of a dentist, dental hygienist, or other dental professional, and which at least partially coincides with the performance of a dental prophylaxis or cleaning procedure in order to save significant clinical operatory chair time compared to cleaning and whitening procedures that are performed in non-overlapping time frames or appointments. Light may also be used to enhance whitening.
Tooth whitening oral care product
A tooth whitening composition containing film flakes of a hydroxyalkyl methyl cellulose and a pigment in combination with an orally acceptable carrier vehicle.
Prebiotic oral care methods using a saccharide
The disclosure relates to methods of enhancing beneficial oral bacteria and decreasing harmful oral bacteria comprising administering oral care compositions comprising a saccharide prebiotic, e.g., selected from D-turanose, D-melezitose, D-lactitol, myoinositol, and N-acetyl-D-mannosamine; and oral care compositions for use in such methods. The disclosure also relates to methods of using prebiotic oral care compositions, methods of screening, and methods of manufacture.
MASCARA COMPOSITIONS INCLUDING VINYLPYRROLIDONE HOMOPOLYMER AND A SECONDARY FILM-FORMING POLYMER
A mascara composition includes a film-forming polymer portion. The film-forming polymer portion is stabilized in a vehicle that includes water. The film-forming polymer portion includes a high molecular weight vinylpyrrolidone homopolymer and one or more secondary film-forming polymers each having one or more repeat units. The one or more repeat units of the one or more secondary film-forming polymers include imide and/or acid-anhydride functionality. The mascara composition includes at least about 10 percent by weight of the vinylpyrrolidone homopolymer and is substantially free of wax.
Oral care composition
An oral care composition is provided. The composition comprises (a) a first component comprising an amine fluoride; and (b) a second component comprising an acidic polymer; wherein the amine fluoride and acidic polymer have respective first and second reactive groups which are arranged to react together to form a cross-linked copolymer of the amine fluoride and acidic polymer when the composition is applied to an oral cavity.
Composition comprising polymer particles, a hydrocarbon-based oil and a silicone elastomer, and process using the same
The present invention relates to a composition comprising particles of at least one polymer that is surface-stabilized with a stabilizer, the polymer of the particles being a C.sub.1-C.sub.4 alkyl (meth)acrylate polymer; the stabilizer being an isobornyl (meth)acrylate polymer chosen from isobornyl (meth)acrylate homopolymer and statistical copolymers of isobornyl (meth)acrylate and of C.sub.1-C.sub.4 alkyl (meth)acrylate present in an isobornyl (meth)acrylate/C.sub.1-C.sub.4 alkyl (meth)acrylate weight ratio of greater than 4, at least one hydrocarbon-based oil and at least one silicone elastomer conveyed in at least one second oil. The invention also relates to a process for making up and/or caring for keratin materials, in which said composition is applied.
AGENT AND METHOD FOR THE TEMPORARY DEFORMATION OF KERATIN-CONTAINING FIBERS
A cosmetic composition for the temporary shaping of keratinic fibers, containing: a) at least one non-crosslinked, hydrophobically modified (meth)acrylic acid copolymer b) at least one, at least partially imidized maleic anhydride copolymer,
its use and method using such a composition.
CONDITIONER COMPOSITIONS WITH POLYACRYLATE MICROCAPSULES HAVING IMPROVED LONG-LASTING ODOR BENEFIT
Described herein, a conditioner composition can help to provide improved long-lasting odor benefit of the benefit agent containing polyacrylate microcapsules onto hair. The conditioner composition includes a combination of polyacrylate microcapsules, deposition polymers, conditioner agents, and a carrier.
Ablative, renewable, multi-functional protective coating for dental surfaces
An oral care composition in the form of a toothpaste, tooth gel, dentifrice, tooth powder, prophy paste, mouthwash, rinse, tooth mousse, dental floss, chewing gum, soluble oral care strip or film for direct application or attachment to an oral surface, or lozenge for combating dental caries, erosion, hypersensitivity, and/or staining that includes an orally acceptable carrier and a copolymer of a first , -ethylenically unsaturated phosphate compound (A); and one or more , -ethylenically unsaturated co-monomers, at least one of which is other than an allyl-functional co-monomer, wherein (A) is an allyl phosphate compound of formula (A):
[CH.sub.2CHCH.sub.2O(R.sup.1O).sub.a(R.sup.2O).sub.b].sub.xP(O)(OM).sub.3-x(A)
wherein, R.sup.1 is a substituted or unsubstituted (C.sub.2-C.sub.4) alkylene moiety; R.sup.2 is a substituted or unsubstituted (C.sub.2-C.sub.4) alkylene moiety; M is identical or different, hydrogen, alkali metal, ammonium, protonated alkyl amine, protonated alkanolamine, or protonated basic amino acid; X is 1 or 2, a is from 1 to 20; and b is from 0 to 20.
