Shampoo composition and method of use
An acidic aqueous shampoo composition, which comprises: (I) a cleansing surfactant selected from the group consisting of anionic surfactant, zwitterionic or amphoteric surfactant and nonionic surfactant; (II) an emulsified silicone, (III) an anti-settling, thickening polymer, wherein the anti-settling, thickening polymer, comprises: (a) 40 to 74.5 wt % of structural units of C.sub.1-4 alkyl acrylate; (b) 20 to 50 wt % of structural units of methacrylic acid; (c) 0.3 to <5 wt % of structural units of 2-acrylamido-2-methyl-propane sulfonic acid (AMPS); (d) 5 to 25 wt % of structural units of a specialized associated monomer having the following structure: wherein R.sup.1 is a linear saturated C.sub.10-24 alkyl group; wherein R.sup.2 is a hydrogen or a methyl group (preferably, wherein R.sup.2 is a methyl group); and wherein n is an average of 20 to 28; with the proviso that the structural units of the specialized associated monomer (d) are derived from one of (i) a single specialized associated monomer (preferably, a single specialized associated monomer wherein R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of a linear saturated C.sub.12 alkyl group, a linear saturated C.sub.18 alkyl group and a linear saturated C.sub.22 alkyl group; more preferably, a single specialized associated monomer wherein R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of a linear saturated C.sub.12 alkyl group and a linear saturated C.sub.18 alkyl group); (ii) two specialized associated monomers, wherein R.sup.1 is, respectively, a linear saturated C.sub.12 and a linear saturated C.sub.18 alkyl group; or (iii) two specialized associated monomers, wherein R.sup.1 is, respectively, a linear saturated C.sub.18 alkyl group and a linear saturated C.sub.22 alkyl group; (f) 0 to 2 wt % of structural units of multi-ethylenically unsaturated crosslinking monomer or chain transfer agent; and wherein the sum of the weight percentages of structural units (a)-(f) is equal to 100 wt % of the anti-settling, thickening polymer; and method of treating hair or scalp with such a composition. ##STR00001##

Aspects of the disclosure are directed to a hair cosmetic composition comprising about 4 to about 32 wt. % of two or more polyols, such as about 1 wt. % or more of a glycol and about 2 wt. % or more of glycerin; about 0.5 to about 10 wt. % of a nonionic surfactant; about 2 to about 25 wt. % of a fatty ester; about 0.1 to about 7 wt. % of a film former; about 0.1 to about 5 wt. % of a thickening agent; about 0.5 to about 12 wt. % of an oil; and water, wherein all weight percentages are based on the total weight of the hair cosmetic composition.
GEL STABILIZED O/W EMULSION WITH ALPHA-ARBUTIN AND AZELAIC ACID DISPERSION
A skin care composition includes a gel stabilized emulsion comprising a combination of actives that include azelaic acid, at least one hydroquinone derivative, and niacinamide, at least one anionic polymer thickener, and at least one fatty compound. The provides a hydrating formula that is comfortable for the wearer and is oil free, without appearing shiny or greasy on the skin, and includes actives to treat the appearance of dark spots and inflammatory lesions, including acne, for all skin types. The skin care composition is free or essentially free of monoalcohols, silicones, silicone oils, and oils other than fatty compounds that comprise emollient esters, hydrogenated polyisobutene, and squalane.

Water-in-oil polymeric emulsion composition and method for manufacturing water-in-oil polymeric emulsion composition
The present invention provides a water-in-oil polymeric emulsion composition, including: (a) 25 to 65 wt % of a cross-linked polymer; (b) 15 to 40 wt % of an oil; (c) 1 to 12 wt % of a surfactant; and (d) 1 to 40 wt % of water, wherein (a) the cross-linked polymer is polymerized by using 35 to 85 mol % of a 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane-sulfonic acid totally or partially salified by an alkali metal or ammonium, 10 to 50 mol % of acryloyl morpholine, 2 to 25 mol % of an acrylic acid totally or partially salified by an alkali metal or ammonium, and 0.005 to 1 mol % of a polyethylenic monomer used as a cross-linking agent.
COSMETIC CLEANSING FORMULATION
A water-rinsable, aqueous cleansing formulation may include a cosmetic oily component. The formulation may foam and remain stable despite the presence of a cosmetic oily component, even when the oily component is present in potentially substantial amounts.
