A switching element (8, 9) actuated by the main energy source (6) is provided. The switching element (8, 9) connects the emergency energy source (12) to the motor (3) electrically in the event of failure of the main energy source (6) to and provide for the emergency operation.

A rose assembly for a door lock and a method of removably securing the rose assembly to a lock chassis. The rose assembly is secured to the lock chassis through the use of an intermediate spring steel attaching plate, which provides both a secure attachment to the lock and orientation of the rose assembly to the lock housing. A single spring plate with integrated retention clip features provides a removably attachable interface between the rose and the lock chassis. The spring plate includes a hook feature to provide positive retention of the rose that is independent of the spring clip features. Additionally, the spring clips are located to minimize the possibility that one clip deflects substantially more than another. The installation process includes inserting the hook feature into a slot in the chassis housing, and then snapping the clip features over the housing to seat and retain the rose.

The vehicle door handle (2) is arranged in such a way that an inertial mass (18) in the handle passes irreversibly from a rest configuration in which it allows the door to be opened into a locking configuration which it prevents opening and passes from the locking configuration into an unlocked configuration, different from the rest configuration and from the locking configuration, the handle being arranged so that placement of the inertial mass (18) in the unlocking configuration has the effect of it once again being possible for the door to be opened.

RETURN MECHANISM FOR DOUBLE PULL DOOR LATCH

A mechanism for a double-pull type door latch is described. A return mechanism is described that includes a final lever coupled to rotate about a pivot. A position wheel is rotationally coupled to the pivot, the position wheel having a first notch and a second notch, the position wheel being rotatable in a first direction. A cam member is coupled to the position wheel, the cam member having a cam surface. A drive lever is arranged to engage the first notch and the second notch. A biasing member is arranged to apply a force on the cam surface to move the position wheel in the first direction when the drive lever is moved into the second notch.

Low effort outside release handle

A vehicle door includes a handle having an angled or inclined ramp surface. A bellcrank is rotatably connected to the door structure for rotation about a generally horizontal axis. The bellcrank includes a follower that engages the inclined ramp surface such that movement of the exterior handle from the rest position to the opened position causes the bellcrank to rotate and shift linkage that unlatches a the latch mechanism.

In each case, the safety knob comprises a tapered rose member or faceplate along with a cylinder wedge assembly or handle.

Universal latch handle

A door handle assembly for use with a door is provided with a base plate, a door handle having a working end pivotally connected to the base plate and a free end opposite of the working end configured for manipulation by an operator. An adapter plate mounted on the working end of the door handle and a cam lever are also included in the present door handle assembly. A securable end of the cam lever is affixable to the adapter plate, and a free end of the cam lever is configured for engagement with a cam, for activating a door latch assembly.

SIMPLIFIED LEVER HANDING APPARATUS

The present disclosure defines a lever handing apparatus that permits simplified changing of the handing of a lever handle between a left hand and a right hand orientation. The lever handing apparatus includes an assembly with a rotatable spring cage housing and lever spindle that can be selectively rotated within an escutcheon housing to change the handing position of a lever arm. The handing orientation of the lever can be repositioned without removing a back plate or accessing internal components positioned within the escutcheon housing assembly.
