METHOD FOR PREPARING BIODEGRADABLE MICROCAPSULES AND MICROCAPSULES OBTAINED IN THIS MANNER
Method for manufacturing microcapsules enclosing a substance referred to as the active substance, in which method: there are provided an aqueous solution of a surfactant, an oily phase comprising the active substance and at least a first monomer X, and a polar phase having at least a second monomer Y; an O/W emulsion is prepared by adding the oily phase to the aqueous solution of the surfactant; the polar phase is added to the O/W emulsion in order to obtain a polymer by polymerisation of the X and Y monomers; starting from this reaction mixture, the microcapsules are isolated and comprise a wall which is formed by the polymer and which encloses the active substance; the polymer is a poly(beta-amino ester).
BIODEGRADABLE POLYMER DISPERSION, COMPOSITION COMPRISING SAME, AND SKIN IMPROVEMENT SYSTEM
The present disclosure relates to a biodegradable polymer dispersion containing a lactic acid-based polymer, a lactic acid-based polymer and polyethylene glycol-containing block copolymer (PEG-PLA), and a hyaluronic acid mixture, wherein the biodegradable polymer dispersion has excellent physiological activity by itself, has excellent dispersion stability of the lactic acid-based polymer, and is capable of effectively supporting active ingredients. In addition, the present disclosure relates to a composition containing the biodegradable polymer dispersion and a skin improvement system.
Method of treatment
The present invention provides a method of suppressing hunger by lowering plasma ghrelin levels comprising administration of a compound to a human or animal body, wherein the compound is selected from: (i) (R)-3-hydroxybutyrate; (ii) an ester of (R)-3-hydroxybutyrate; and (iii) an oligomer of (R)-3-hydroxybutyrate moieties; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate thereof. The invention also provides a method of administering such a compound in a dosage effective to reduce hunger in order that a cosmetically beneficial loss or maintenance of body weight occurs, wherein in the method, plasma ghrelin levels are lowered. The aforementioned compound is also provided for use in a method of treatment of the human or animal body wherein the compound is administered and hunger is suppressed by lowering of plasma ghrelin levels. The compound is particularly useful for subjects having conditions associated with overeating, such as overweight, obese, severely obese patients or diabetic patients.
